Chapter 1005 Beauty Is Truly a Powerful Weapon

"You're lucky to have anything to watch at all! Quit being so picky, or there won't be any TV left to watch!"

Penelope couldn't help but laugh.

"You guys really like Thessaly that much?" she asked. "You can't see her in person, so you have to watch her on TV?"

Sam nodded enthusiastically. "Because she's pretty! Looking at beautiful people serves to maintain spirits in delight, right, Kelvin?"

Kelvin was taken aback. "What?"

He had a wife, and he dared to look at other women?

Besides, in his eyes, Penelope was the most beautiful of all!

Penelope chuckled.

"Alright, alright," she said. "But I'm turning on the TV, and whatever show comes on, that's what we're watching. Any objections?"

Sam and Lucy chimed in together, "No objections!"

The little disagreement was finally resolved peacefully.

As soon as the TV was on, the kids quieted down, completely absorbed in the show.

Lucy took a moment to ask, "Mom, Dad, when are we going to see Thessaly again?"

"Didn't we just see her a few days ago?"

"I know, but I want to know when we can see her next."

Penelope couldn't help but sigh. "Just her looks alone can win over two kids' hearts. Beauty really is a powerful weapon!"

"Mom, you still haven't answered me," Lucy pressed.

"When do you want to go?"

Sam jumped in, "How about this weekend? I want to visit the set and watch Thessaly act! What do you think, Lucy?"

"Great!" Lucy agreed wholeheartedly.

The two of them looked at Penelope with eager eyes.

How could Penelope refuse?

"Alright," she nodded. "I'll take you to the set this weekend. But you have to behave, no making noise or causing trouble, okay?"

"Okay!!!"

Five minutes ago, the siblings were fighting over the remote, and now they were celebrating together!

Penelope leaned into Kelvin's arms. "Should we let the crew know in advance?"

"No need. They might go out of their way to prepare for us."

"True, we'll just show up. We're just taking the kids for a visit, nothing major. They mainly want to see Thessaly, and she can spend some time with them during breaks."

Penelope smiled. "I wonder if Thessaly will find it annoying."

Kelvin didn't answer, resting his chin on her head, his eyes on the TV.

But his thoughts were far away.

He hadn't coughed all day; maybe the medicine was working. His throat felt much better, no longer dry and itchy.

If things kept improving, if he stopped coughing and didn't cough up blood, he could finally relax.

But what if... things got worse?

Whether it was psychological or not, his previously clear throat started to itch again.

Kelvin stifled light coughs.

He forced himself not to overthink, not to scare himself.

To distract himself, Kelvin twirled Penelope's hair around his fingers.

"Penelope."

Penelope was watching TV with the kids and didn't look up. "What is it?"

"Nothing, just wanted to tell you I love you."

She smiled. "I love you too."

"I really love you, Penelope."

"I really love you too."

Penelope reached up and playfully pinched his cheek, not noticing anything amiss.

Thessaly's shows always had high ratings and great plots. Penelope thought she really was born for this industry.

The weekend, on set.

The place was buzzing with activity. Crew members were everywhere, handling various filming equipment, and focused on their tasks.

Paul sat in front of the monitor, one foot propped on a chair, a cigarette dangling from his mouth.

Several assistant directors sat beside him.

A voice crackled through the walkie-talkie: "Five minutes until we start shooting. All departments, speed up your preparations."

Just then, a small hand picked up the walkie-talkie and pressed the button. "Hello, hello?"

The child's voice echoed through every walkie-talkie on set.

"Hey! Kid!" Paul shouted, annoyed. "Don't touch that! Put it back!"

Sam glanced at him and obediently put it down.

But Sam didn't move from his spot.

He politely asked, "Excuse me, sir, can I play with the walkie-talkie for a bit?"

"No," Paul blew out a smoke ring. "Are you an extra? Get out of here, don't cause trouble. Go, go."

He waved dismissively.

Finally, with Brandon and Thessaly not on set, Paul had the most authority!

After being menial for so long, he wanted to give orders for once!

"Why not? I won't break it, I'm just curious," Sam persisted.

Paul grew more impatient. "Why so many questions? No means no. Hey, where did you find this disobedient kid? Get him out of here, pay him for today, and send him off."

"Got it, Mr. Simmons," an assistant director responded, starting to contact the extras' manager.

"He's got a good look, a promising face for the camera, but..." Paul trailed off, noticing a group approaching.

Suddenly, Paul jumped up from his chair, a smile spreading across his face.

"Mr. Davis!" he rushed to greet them. "What an honor, what brings you here? Our set is truly graced by your presence!"

"Mrs. Davis, you're looking more beautiful and elegant than ever."

Paul's demeanor changed instantly.

Sam curled his lips dismissively, "His mood changes faster than flipping a page."

"Dad, who is that?" Lucy asked.

"The director."

Paul noticed Lucy and immediately praised her. "This must be the Davis family's daughter. She's so beautiful, the prettiest girl I've ever seen, a true princess!"

Then Paul remembered something and looked around. "Mr. Davis, don't you have a son, too? Didn't he come with you today?"

Kelvin's gaze fell on Sam.

Sam stood right behind Paul.

Paul turned and saw him, quickly shooing him away. "Go, go, stand somewhere else. Why are you everywhere? So annoying... Do you believe no crew will ever want you?"

"Fine by me," Sam shrugged.

Paul was taken aback.

Sam continued, "You praised all three of them, why didn't you praise me?"

"You?" Paul scoffed. "Do you know who they are? Can you compare?"
