Chapter 973 Considering Having a Child with My Wife
Penelope flopped onto the bed, landing on Kelvin's chest with a yawn. "Let's hit the hay. We gotta be up early tomorrow."
"Already thinking about sleep?"
Penelope snapped awake, her sleepiness half gone. "We've got important stuff to handle tomorrow," she said. "Don't... overdo it."
"Relax. We can take care of things now and still get everything done tomorrow."
"But I'll be wiped out! I won't be able to get up, and I'll end up sleeping in!"
Kelvin wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. "Then we'll just have the crew push back the start time."
"Hey, you..."
Before Penelope could finish, Kelvin kissed her.
These days, he was relentless, never giving her a break.
Any resistance Penelope had slowly melted away... because she just didn't have the energy to care!
During the day, she worked, and at night... she had her duties as a wife.
She got that Kelvin was trying to show her through his actions that he didn't care about that night, that nothing had happened.
That night, Kelvin was more energetic than usual.
Which meant that the next morning, Penelope really couldn't get out of bed!
The alarm had gone off three times.
"Kelvin!" Penelope mumbled from the bed. "You did this on purpose!"
He stood in front of the mirror, casually tying his tie. "What? How did I do it on purpose? Isn't this the usual?"
"You were definitely more... more..."
"More what?"
Penelope couldn't bring herself to say it.
"It's still early," Kelvin said. "You can lie down a bit longer. We'll grab breakfast in the car to save time."
"You've got everything planned out for me..."
Despite feeling completely drained and sore, Penelope managed to drag herself out of bed.
The opening ceremony was set at a film studio on the outskirts of LA.
Because this movie was a grand production with popular stars as leads, it attracted significant media attention.
As per tradition, the opening ceremony was held.
The prime spots in the front row were naturally reserved for Kelvin and Penelope.
A Rolls-Royce pulled up at the entrance.
Seeing the luxury car, reporters swarmed around it.
The car door opened, and out stepped...
"Mr. Davis and Mrs. Davis are here!" someone shouted, drawing everyone's attention!
Flashbulbs went off like crazy!
Even though Kelvin and Penelope weren't celebrities, their fame and attention rivaled that of top stars!
Nowadays, people were more interested in the private lives of the wealthy elite than in celebrities!
Especially Kelvin himself, who seemed to have a natural spotlight.
He was an heir to a fortune, a CEO, rich and handsome, tall and attractive. His resources far surpass numerous male celebrities. Now married with a son and daughter, his life seemed perfect... Most importantly, he had no scandals, not even a hint of gossip!
Such a wealthy, devoted, and passionate man was the epitome of a prince charming!
Every woman in LA envied Penelope.
Whenever she appeared in public, she was always by Kelvin's side, needing to do nothing more than smile quietly.
That was true love, a one-of-a-kind connection!
Reporters swarmed around Kelvin and Penelope, cameras clicking like crazy.
"Mr. Davis, why did you choose Thessaly as your first female star?"
"Thessaly is the face of Adoring Cupid. Do you think she's up to the task?"
"Mrs. Davis, any plans for more kids?"
"Is there a special reason you and Mrs. Davis are attending the opening ceremony together?"
"Are you planning to dive into the entertainment industry?"
Questions flew at them from all directions.
Penelope kept a graceful smile, waving at the cameras, mostly staying quietly by Kelvin's side.
He had it covered.
"Thanks for your interest," Kelvin paused, then added, "As for more kids, my wife and I are thinking about it."
He only answered that one, ignoring the rest.
Kelvin held her hand as they made their way inside, escorted by security.
Reporters were left outside.
Thessaly stood nearby, watching the scene unfold.
"They're such a perfect match," she sighed. "Penelope's really lucky."
Her assistant chimed in, "Thessaly, you're lucky too. So many actresses in the industry are envious of you."
She just smiled.
On the outside, she seemed to have it all, but inside, she was a mess.
"And Mr. Walker's feelings for you are obvious to everyone," the assistant whispered. "Mr. Walker is also a well-known wealthy bachelor in LA. You should seize the opportunity."
"How can I seize it?" Thessaly replied, almost to herself. "The one meant for you will cross mountains and seas to be by your side. The one not meant for you will leave, even if they sleep next to you."
"Thessaly, you're at the peak of your career, with success and love. Why such a gloomy thought?"
"It's not gloom, it's reality."
Reality was always so harsh.
Brandon was never someone she should hold onto; he was the one who ruined her, her... enemy!
Thessaly turned her attention back, adjusting her outfit. "Is everything in place? Can I face the media?"
Her assistant checked her over carefully. "You're perfect. This is a modern drama, not as complicated as period costumes. Thessaly, you could go straight to a shopping spree in this outfit."
Especially since Thessaly's character was a stunning beauty, much like herself, so the costumes were similar to her usual style.
Though she preferred loose, casual wear, her character was a meticulously beautiful woman.
Paul, the director, approached with a walkie-talkie. Everyone in the crew respected him and followed his lead.
He walked around, occasionally glancing at Thessaly.
His gaze was unsettling.
Thessaly pretended not to notice.
Thankfully, Brandon arrived just then.
Seeing Brandon, Paul immediately straightened up. "Mr. Walker, why are you here? I arranged a spot for you in the front row."
"I'm just looking around."
Brandon said he was just looking, but his eyes were locked on Thessaly.
Paul, sensing the situation, quickly moved away, not daring to interrupt.
The assistant also found an excuse to slip away.
