Chapter 366 Will You Give Lucy Back to Me?

"Penelope, let me handle it. I'll find a bone marrow match for Lucy!"

Penelope looked at him. "Family has a higher chance of matching. Kelvin, I got tested, but I'm not a match. It's up to you now."

Kelvin didn't hesitate. "I'll get tested tomorrow. If it's a match, we'll get Lucy admitted and prep for the transplant!"

Penelope felt a huge relief.

Lucy had a chance.

No more living in fear; Lucy could finally be free from her illness!

"It's all on you now," Penelope said. "Kelvin, Lucy's so young. She deserves a good life."

"Don't worry. As long as I'm here, Lucy will be fine!"

Kelvin's daughter, so precious, had to live a happy life!

If he wasn't a match, he'd scour every registry, national and global, until he found one!

Kelvin realized Penelope came back because Lucy had leukemia.

She had no choice but to return to LA, find him, and see if his bone marrow matched.

Only he had the resources to give Lucy the best care!

Thinking about it, Kelvin felt heartbroken.

She didn't come back for him.

She never cared about him.

But Kelvin refused to believe it.

He still wanted to ask, "Penelope, if Lucy hadn't gotten sick, would you have never come back to LA?"

"Yes."

Penelope answered without hesitation.

Kelvin closed his eyes. "Even if you lied, even if you paused, it would've been better..."

He was in so much pain.

To her, he meant so little!

"What's there to consider?" Penelope laughed, mocking him. "I've spent my life trying to escape you, but for our daughter, I had to come back!"

She hated, resented, but had no choice.

Their ties, severed for four years, were reconnected!

And Kelvin was grateful for this child.

He had refused to divorce, hoping she'd get pregnant and stay.

Once a woman had a child, she had a home and couldn't leave.

Now, Kelvin's wish had come true.

Kelvin looked at her. "Penelope, this is our child, proof of our love. Lucy will recover, and you'll live well."

He once thought Penelope would only live in his heart.

But now, she stood real in front of him.

Kelvin didn't want her just in his heart; he wanted her in this world.

To feel the wind, smell the flowers, watch the sunrise and sunset...

She suddenly covered her face, choking up. "Kelvin, will you give Lucy back to me?"

"Give her back to you?"

"Yes," Penelope sobbed softly. "After her surgery, let me take Lucy away, far away, and never bother you again, okay?"

She knew it was a childish and unreasonable request.

Kelvin would never agree.

He was too selfish and arrogant, always wanting his way. How could he let her take Lucy away?

But Penelope still had a sliver of hope.

She had to ask.

Maybe Kelvin had changed in these four years?

Kelvin was silent.

The silence in the room was so thick, you could hear Penelope draw breath.

She felt ridiculous, like she was humiliating herself...

"Forget it," she shook her head. "Pretend I didn't say anything."

"Penelope, why do you still want to leave me?"

Penelope lowered her hands and looked straight at him. "Because I hate you! Is that answer good enough?"

"You still hate me?"

"Yes! I hate you every moment! I can never forgive you!"

Kelvin asked, "What do I have to do for you to try to let go of the past hatred, to try to forgive me?"

"Let me go, give me my freedom, let me live with Lucy," Penelope said. "If you do that, I'll consider forgiving you! But you can't do it!"

Kelvin fell silent again.

Despite four years having passed, her desire to escape from him had only intensified.

"Penelope, what did I do that you can't forgive me for?"

Penelope stared into his eyes. "Let me ask you, if someone locked you in a mental hospital for two years, sent your father to prison, indirectly caused your mother's death, and personally killed your child, and then..."

"Penelope," Kelvin couldn't listen anymore. "Stop..."

"Everything I said, you did. What, you can't even face it yourself?"

Penelope gave him a cold look and walked past him.

As they brushed past each other, she raised an eyebrow and said, "I never thought, four years on, we're still arguing about the same thing. Kelvin, from then until now, you've always disappointed me."

A huge wound opened in his heart, bleeding profusely.

The wind blew, leaving it empty.

She always knew how to hurt him the most with a simple sentence.

His Penelope wanted freedom, wanted to leave.

Kelvin thought, 'I could let her go.'

Because he didn't want her to do something as dangerous as jumping into the sea again!

But right now, Lucy's recovery had to be the priority.

Once Lucy was cured and lived like a normal child, he would let her go.

Kelvin turned around, wanting to say something, but Penelope was already gone.

His pupils contracted. "Penelope?"

Where was she?

Wasn't she just here?

Was it a dream? An illusion?

Did she really come back?

"She went upstairs. It's time for Lucy to sleep and rest," Brandon leaned lazily against the chair, arms crossed. "Mr. Davis, do you still want to ask about Molly's whereabouts?"

"Even if Molly isn't Penelope, your relationship with Molly is definitely not ordinary!"

"So, Mr. Davis, do you still need to find Molly?"
