Chapter 793 It's Just Me and Your Dad, Who Are You Putting on a Show For?

"I didn't think so," Sam said, "because it's not time to bring out Great-grandpa to support me yet. If you want to deal with me, you'll have to get through several levels first."

Sam began to count smugly.

"First, you have to get past Mom. If you manage that, and if she sides with you, and you both want to gang up on me, I still have Grandpa."

"If Grandpa can't help, I still have Grandma."

"The chances of both Grandpa and Grandma not helping me are very, very low. If I'm that unlucky and they both side with you, then I'll call in Great-grandpa for support!"

"Oh, by the way," Sam added, "Kelvin, I haven't called you Dad yet. If you want to hear me call you Dad, you better behave well until I'm satisfied!"

Seeing his smug expression, Kelvin pressed his lips together without any expression.

Whether he heard that "Dad" or not didn't seem to matter anymore!

As cute, well-behaved, and lovable as Lucy was, Sam was just as mischievous!

Why were the siblings' personalities so different?

Kelvin had thought that with this father-son relationship, his interactions with Sam would be different.

At the very least, they should show kindness, respect, and live peacefully together.

Now it seemed he was thinking too much!

He and Sam could never interact like a normal father and son!

"Sam," Kelvin called out.

"What do you want?"

"How do you manage to be both smart and likable while also making people want to throw you out?"

Sam replied, "You should ask yourself that!"

"Ask me?" Kelvin looked puzzled.

"Yeah, I am your son, I take after you, I inherited your genes," Sam answered confidently. "Whatever you're like, I'm like."

He pressed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

Why didn't Penelope have two daughters back then?

What was the point of having a son?

Penelope came back to the hospital room carrying the meal the servant had brought.

The room was quiet.

Sam was staring at the IV bottle, and Kelvin was busy working on his laptop.

"Do you two have nothing to say to each other?" Penelope asked. "Each of you is busy with your own thing."

Kelvin didn't even look up. "What's he busy with?"

"I'm watching the IV bottle. What if it runs out? You're not helping me watch it, so I have to rely on myself."

"Are you sure I'm not helping you watch it?"

Sam replied, "You're looking at your computer."

Kelvin asked, "Does the IV bottle need to be watched constantly?"

He would occasionally look up, and when it was almost empty, he would press the call button for the nurse.

"You don't care about me, and you make so many excuses," Sam sighed. "Forget it, I'll rely on myself."

Penelope flicked his forehead. "What nonsense, eat your meal."

"You feed me."

"Your dad will feed you."

Sam almost jumped out of the hospital bed. "I don't want that!"

He had already had a hard time eating the porridge this morning.

He was the injured one, the patient!

Couldn't they just go along with him?

"To build father-son bonding," Penelope said, "it's good."

"Dear."

"What?"

"You've changed," Sam said pitifully. "You have a husband now and have forgotten your son. You only care about Kelvin's feelings and don't care about mine at all. I knew it, I'm just an extra in this family."

Penelope's mouth twitched.

"If I had known, I should have stayed in the small town, living a simple and fulfilling life with Ruby. After all, a plain life is the real deal. Who cares about being a Davis family kid or a billion-dollar heir? Whoever wants it can have it."

"Alright, stop acting, it's useless," Penelope interrupted him. "It's just me and your dad here, who are you acting for?"

She bluntly exposed him.

But Sam didn't mind at all. "Just practicing, so my acting skills don't get rusty."

Penelope was speechless. "Oh Sam."

"What?"

"Who do you take after with this personality?"

"You're asking the same question as Kelvin," Sam said. "I'm your son, of course, I take after you two. Do you think I could mutate?"

Penelope shook her head. "I'm not that into acting."

"Then I must take after Kelvin!"

Thinking about it, Penelope agreed. "Right. Now I understand you, you really are father and son."

Kelvin's acting skills were top-notch too!

But Kelvin didn't agree. "When did I become such a good actor?"

"When you were with Madison!"

"That was out of necessity."

"Same thing, anyway, you both are good actors."

After finishing the meal, Penelope looked at the time. It was about time for her to pick up Lucy from kindergarten.

"I have to go now." She picked up the car keys. "You two..."

She looked at Sam, then at Kelvin.

"Take care of yourselves." With that, Penelope left the hospital room.

Sam kept shouting, "Where are you going? Come back! How can you leave me? Come back! Where are you going?"

His voice echoed in the room.

Unfortunately, there was no response.

Kelvin flipped through the documents. "Stop howling."

"How could she leave me here with someone as cold, heartless, and selfish as you?"

"Sorry, but you'll have to stay with me for many, many years," Kelvin smirked. "Because I'm your dad."

Sam muttered, "If I had known, I would have tried harder to set up Uncle Brandon..."

"Hmm? What did you say?"

"Nothing!"

He was smart enough to know that he could only say that in front of Penelope.

He couldn't say it in front of Kelvin!

Otherwise, he would be in big trouble! Unless he wanted to get beaten up!

Sam was very clear about Kelvin's bottom line, what he could tolerate him saying or doing, and what he couldn't.

Brandon was Kelvin's rival in love!

"Penelope went to pick up Lucy from school," Kelvin signed the document. "You'll see Lucy soon."

Sam finally understood. "So that's it, I was wondering how she could leave me."

"When Lucy comes and sees you like this, how are you going to explain it to her?"
