Chapter 980 Are These Two Considered Together?

"Still got the energy to flirt, huh? How bad could it be?" Kelvin teased, nodding toward Brandon, who was shirtless with his arm around Thessaly.

Penelope had already suspected something was up when she was eavesdropping outside, but now that Kelvin pointed it out, she couldn't ignore it any longer.

Thessaly's face turned beet red as she stared at her feet, while Brandon cleared his throat awkwardly. It was definitely a bit embarrassing.

"Oh, right," Penelope said, pretending to be surprised. "Brandon, why are you shirtless? And why are you all cozy with Thessaly?"

Kelvin tried to stifle a laugh. Penelope's acting was so over-the-top, even he found it hard to watch. He'd been keeping an eye out to make sure no one caught her eavesdropping, and what did she do? She walked right in.

Brandon, of course, knew exactly what was going on. He just chose not to expose her charade.

"Looks like I'm interrupting something," Penelope continued. "No worries, you guys carry on. I'll just pretend I was never here."

She grabbed Kelvin's hand and started to leave, just as the set doctor arrived.

The doctor asked, "How's Mr. Walker's injury?"

"He's fine for now," Penelope replied. "Come back later; it's not a good time right now."

"What?" The doctor was baffled. He had rushed over with his medical kit, only to be told it wasn't urgent?

"Let the doctor in," Brandon's voice came from inside. "Now's as good a time as any."

Penelope pouted. Couldn't the doctor have shown up a little later?

Thessaly hadn't even given Brandon an answer yet! This interruption could change everything. Brandon respected and admired Thessaly, and she clearly had feelings for him too. They were perfect for each other!

The doctor entered, set down his kit, and examined Brandon's back. "This is a pretty serious injury... It might take over two weeks to heal."

"It's not that bad," Brandon insisted. "Just some ointment and a bit of massage every day will do."

"It's swollen, with bruising and discoloration. Plus, there's the spine to consider... Mr. Walker, maybe you should get it checked at a hospital."

Thessaly immediately looked worried. "Does he need to get it checked? Is his spine injured?"

"It's possible. A check-up would be safest."

Thessaly nodded and turned to Brandon. "I'll have the driver get the car ready. We should go right away."

Brandon remained seated, giving the doctor a meaningful look. The doctor shrank back slightly. Had he said something wrong? He was just doing his job!

"Let's just apply some ointment first," Brandon said. "I can walk and move just fine. It's not like I've broken any bones."

The doctor nodded and began preparing the treatment.

Thessaly frowned. "Will it hurt when you apply the ointment? And when you massage it?"

"It will, Ms. Winterbourne."

"What should we do then?"

The doctor replied, "He'll just have to bear with it."

Thessaly was about to say more, but Brandon took her hand, gently rubbing her knuckles. "With you here, focusing on you, I won't even notice the pain."

Her eyelashes fluttered, and she finally agreed, "Okay."

Penelope watched the scene with a smile. She nudged Kelvin. "Think they're a thing now?"

"How should I know? Weren't you the one eavesdropping?"

"Brandon confessed," Penelope whispered, "but Thessaly hasn't said yes yet."

"Then they're not official," Kelvin replied.

"No, no, it's my fault! Just when Thessaly was about to answer, I got too caught up listening and barged in, interrupting them!"

Penelope was filled with regret. How could she mess up at such a crucial moment?

Kelvin glanced at Brandon and Thessaly's tightly clasped hands. "Do they look like they're not together?" he asked. "Penelope, when a guy wants to win over a girl, he'll do whatever it takes. If he doesn't succeed, it just means he hasn't tried hard enough."

The doctor applied the ointment while Thessaly watched intently. Brandon showed no sign of discomfort; his gaze soft and steady on her.

Anyone with eyes could see what was happening.

"Let's step out for a bit," Penelope suggested. "Once the doctor finishes, and they're alone again... maybe Thessaly will say yes."

"Alright."

Kelvin glanced at Thessaly, but she was too focused on the doctor to notice him. Was she really that absorbed, or did she have other thoughts?

Surely Thessaly wouldn't be so easily won over by Brandon, right? She had said she wanted revenge and had been the one to suggest getting closer to him!

The opening ceremony was over, and the media were conducting interviews. Paul was hurrying to the lounge when he spotted Kelvin and Penelope from a distance.

Penelope wasn't exactly fond of him. Paul instinctively tried to avoid her.

"What are you hiding for?" Penelope's voice rang out, catching him immediately. "You, Paul, come here!"

Paul cursed his luck internally but put on a bright smile as he approached. "Mrs. Davis, you're here too! How's Mr. Walker doing? Should I check on him?"

"No need."

"Alright, alright," Paul replied. "I mainly came to get Thessaly for an interview. The reporters are all waiting for her."

None of the other actors, not even the lead, could satisfy the reporters' curiosity. They were all eager to interview Thessaly!

She was a goldmine of gossip, guaranteed to make headlines!

"Thessaly's had a scare and needs to rest today," Penelope said. "Don't disturb her. Besides, she's with Mr. Walker right now... get it?"

Seeing Paul's expression made Penelope feel sick. She used to think his eccentric style was part of his artistic persona. Turns out, he was just a jerk!

Paul chuckled. "Mr. Walker got hurt saving her, so of course, she should be by his side. But work must go on, and the reporters are pressing. I can't keep stalling."

Penelope replied, "If you can't stall, then reschedule. The crew will have another media day."

"This..."
