Chapter 971 Film Launch Ceremony, Will You Attend?

"I get where you're coming from," Timothy said. "That's why I'm taking it slow with you—dating first, then marriage. I respect your feelings, and I'm prepared to proceed with patience to wait until you're ready to let your guard down and trust me completely."

If Timothy had his way, they'd be at City Hall tying the knot right now!

Just marry her and sort it out later!

But he knew Monica wouldn't go for that, and he didn't want to scare her off.

He had to take his time, showing her bit by bit that he was someone she could spend her life with.

He was planning their future together!

When the moment felt right, Timothy would pop the question.

And if Monica said yes, it would be forever.

"Guys are full of sweet talk when they're in love," Monica muttered. "Especially someone like you, who always knows what to say."

"Would you like a taste of it?"

Monica gave him a playful pinch. "Be serious."

Timothy chuckled and pulled her closer. "It's just us here. Being serious is no fun."

He kissed her hair. "Monica, I can wait. No pressure. When we get hitched, I'll be a good husband and, later on, a good dad."

"Marriage and kids, huh? You're really thinking ahead."

Timothy replied earnestly, "I've got our whole life mapped out."

"Are you trying to keep up with Kelvin and Penelope because their kid's already running around?" Monica teased. "To beat them, we'd need triplets at least."

He answered boldly, "Then triplets it is."

"Easy for you to say, you're not the one giving birth!"

"True, having kids is tough and painful..." Timothy thought for a moment. "Forget it, we don't need any. Having you is enough!"

Monica couldn't help but laugh. "First, you want triplets, now none at all."

"Whatever you want, it's up to you."

Monica huffed and tried to push him away, but he held her tight and kissed her.

When you're in love, you want to be together every minute!

Fall turned to winter.

The air had that winter chill.

The movie "Bright Life" was set to start filming tomorrow morning, with a press conference to kick things off.

Brandon had sent Penelope an invitation—

"The launch ceremony is happening. If you have time, you should come."

Penelope didn't want to go. Mainly because... she didn't want to see Brandon.

She wasn't really involved with the movie, except that Thessaly was the lead actress.

And she definitely didn't want to see Paul!

As Penelope was thinking of an excuse to decline, Thessaly called.

"Penelope, are you coming to the movie launch?" Thessaly asked. "Brandon said he invited you."

"I might... not have time."

Thessaly sounded a bit disappointed. "Oh, okay. No worries, do what you need to do."

Hearing that, Penelope felt a little guilty.

It seemed like Thessaly really wanted her there.

"I'll see if I can make it," Penelope replied. "If I can, I'll definitely come."

Thessaly didn't push further. "Alright."

After hanging up, Penelope looked down at the invitation in front of her.

Why did Thessaly want her at the launch?

To see her? Something to discuss?

Penelope sat on the balcony of the master bedroom, staring off into the distance, lost in her thoughts.

A shadow suddenly fell over her.

Kelvin sat down across from her. "What's got you so deep in thought?"

Penelope slid the invitation over to him. "Check this out."

He glanced at it.

"I don't really want to go, but Thessaly wants me there," Penelope said. "I'm thinking about it."

Kelvin shrugged casually. "You should go."

She was surprised. He let her go so readily?

Lately, Kelvin had been keeping a pretty close eye on her!

In the evenings, they stayed home together, helping the kids with homework. During the day at Davis Group, he was constantly messaging her.

If she didn't reply within five minutes, he'd send someone to find her!

Sometimes it was Tina rushing over: "Penelope, you need to reply to Mr. Davis. He's asking what you're up to!"

Other times, Monica would tap on her desk: "Your sweetheart's looking for you."

It was a bit embarrassing for Penelope!

"Are you... sure?" Penelope looked at Kelvin. "You're really okay with me going?"

"Yeah, it'll be good for you. A little break," Kelvin said, looking at her. "Besides, the lead actor is one of your favorite stars, right? You can meet him in person and maybe snag a picture."

Penelope glanced at the sun.

It was rising in the east, as usual.

She looked back at Kelvin, his familiar features. It was definitely her Kelvin.

Was he really being this generous?

Usually, if she talked to another guy for too long, he'd get all jealous. And now... he was encouraging her to meet a favorite actor?

Kelvin leaned back, crossing his legs. "You've seemed a bit down lately, not interested in much. Seeing someone you like might cheer you up."

Penelope couldn't help but ask, "You're not gonna get jealous if I go see a favorite actor?"

"No," Kelvin replied. "You like him, but you're not marrying him. You're married to me."

Her crush on the actor was just a passing thing.

Just a little starstruck, and it would fade.

Girls and their celebrity crushes, he got it.

Penelope couldn't help but admire how Kelvin was becoming more open-minded and understanding!

"Alright, then I'm going," Penelope said, taking the opportunity. "Don't get mad later."

He smirked. "I won't, promise."

"Okay, I'll let Thessaly know."

As they talked, Sam and Lucy came running over.

The small balcony suddenly felt lively.

"Mom, Dad, don't just sit there! Come play with us, let's play some ball!" Lucy tugged on Penelope's arm. "The four of us can play badminton, mixed doubles!"

She laughed and agreed. "Sure."

Sam, always observant, noticed the invitation on the table. "What's this?"

"A movie launch. They invited me."

"Filming a movie?" Sam's eyes lit up. "That means lots of stars! All those handsome guys and pretty ladies!"

Penelope nodded. "Yep."

"Mom, you should really dress up for it. No more of these casual clothes," Sam said, pointing at her comfy outfit with a look of disdain. "Put on some makeup, lipstick, and a nice dress. You'll look just as good as any movie star!"
