Chapter 981 Her Lips Show Signs of Being Kissed?

Paul kept shooting nervous glances at Kelvin. With Kelvin around, he wouldn't dare speak up, just nodding along like a bobblehead. He wouldn't risk ticking him off!

"What's up?" Penelope asked with a sharp voice. "My words don't mean anything? You only move when Kelvin gives the nod? Or do you need Brandon to tell you that Thessaly's media interview is off today?"

Paul let out an awkward laugh, waving his hands like he was swatting flies. "Mrs. Davis, no, no, you've got it all wrong."

Penelope rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed.

Once this movie wraps up... Paul's usefulness will be toast!

Blacklist him!

'This jerk hurt Thessaly, and who knows how many more women he might target in the future!'

Seeing Penelope's patience wearing thin, Paul realized it was time to make his exit. If he waited for Kelvin to chime in, he'd be in deep trouble!

"Okay, okay," Paul nodded quickly, "I'll tell the reporters... Oh, Mr. Davis, Mrs. Davis, how about I get the assistant director to show you around the set?"

"No need!"

Penelope's voice was as cold as ice.

Paul couldn't afford to show any annoyance, so he just nodded at Kelvin and gave Penelope an apologetic smile before making his escape.

This movie was really cramping his style.

Paul used to be the big shot on set; everyone had to cater to him. He was a big name, a box office draw, and investors counted on him to rake in the cash!

But now, on the Bright Life crew, he had to cater to everyone else!

Brandon, Kelvin, Penelope, and even Thessaly.

Actors sucking up to directors was the norm, but directors having to cater to actors? That was a new one!

"Mr. Simmons," suddenly, the lounge door swung open, and Thessaly stepped out. "It's time. Where's the interview spot? I'll head over now."

Paul was caught off guard.

Thessaly looked calm and collected, her hair perfectly in place, clothes unruffled, ready for the camera.

"Uh..." Paul stammered, unsure of what to say.

The call wasn't his to make!

Thessaly looked confused. "Is something up? Is the interview over? I thought it was scheduled for now."

"You... you were with Mr. Walker tending to his injury, and you still kept track of time?"

"Of course, work is work, can't slack off. Mr. Walker's fine now, I'll take him to the hospital for a check-up after the interview, just to make sure there's no bone injury."

With that, Thessaly adjusted her hair and got ready to leave.

She glanced at Penelope, then quickly looked away, head down, like she was avoiding her.

She didn't even glance at Kelvin, just followed Paul to the interview area.

Penelope looked puzzled.

"Thessaly seems... a bit off," Penelope said to Kelvin. "Did she just ignore me?"

"Yep."

"Why? Did I do something wrong? Say something wrong?"

Kelvin replied, "You didn't do anything wrong."

"Then why..."

"Didn't you notice?" He raised an eyebrow. "Did you really look at Thessaly?"

Penelope answered, "She didn't look at me, so how could I see her face and emotions?"

"No need to look at her face."

Penelope was even more puzzled. "Then what am I supposed to look at?"

Kelvin pointed to his lips. "Right here."

Her lips? Thessaly's lips?

What about them?

"You're not catching on?" Kelvin leaned in, whispering in her ear, "After I kiss you, don't you notice how your lips look, you know?"

Before Penelope could respond, he added, "Oh, right, it's normal you wouldn't know. You can't see them, and you don't rush to a mirror right after."

Penelope blinked, her mind racing with thoughts of kissing.

Brandon and Thessaly... kissed?

That's something only couples do!

"Are you saying her lips looked like she'd been kissed?" Penelope asked. "Are you sure? Really? You didn't see wrong? It was just her and Brandon in the lounge..."

It couldn't have been the doctor, right?

"I'm positive," Kelvin said. "No mistake. I've kissed you plenty of times, seen it up close, and I'm the one who did it. Wouldn't I know? Penelope, I see it clearer than you!"

Penelope clapped her hands. "Well, that's great news! But why did Thessaly seem to avoid me just now?"

"You can ask her directly later, no need to guess."

"But she's off to the interview area, it'll take a while, I..." Penelope looked at Kelvin, "Should I ask Brandon?"

She was looking for his advice.

After all, her relationship with Brandon was too delicate for a solo meeting.

Before Kelvin could answer, Brandon's voice came from behind, "Ask me what?"

Penelope turned around.

Brandon approached, smiling warmly, just like when they first met.

"If you've got something to say, just say it, no need to beat around the bush," Brandon said. "Besides, Penelope, I already have a hunch about what you want to ask."

Penelope felt a bit embarrassed.

She scratched her head. "I... when I barged in, you knew I was eavesdropping outside, right?"

"Yep." Brandon chuckled. "You've always wanted to set me up with Thessaly, I'm aware."

"Well, I was worried about your injury, but then I heard you two talking, and couldn't help but listen in. But I missed the most important part..."

"Penelope, you missed the most important part."

She widened her eyes. "Missed it?"

That can't be right, she arrived just in time, listening the whole time outside.

She only interrupted when she accidentally barged in, cutting off Brandon and Thessaly's conversation!

"Yes. To be precise, you missed it." Brandon nodded. "Just now, Thessaly and I... made it official."

Penelope nearly jumped.

What?!

So soon? Just now?

In that short time?

"To be precise, I confessed to her, she seriously considered it, and accepted me," Brandon said. "With her consent and approval, we're officially together."

No wonder Kelvin said Thessaly's lips... clearly kissed.

Confession, together, holding hands, hugging, the next step... kissing!

Naturally! Seamlessly!

Penelope was a bit stunned.

She had a vague feeling they might become a couple today, but it was just a hope.

Unexpectedly... so quickly! They really got together!
