Chapter 992 I'll Marry You When I Grow Up!

"I gotta say, your taste is all over the place, man. Sometimes it's top-notch, other times, not so much," Sam commented.

"Inconsistent?" Brandon looked confused.

Sam went on, "That Isabella chick? She's the worst. You can see her scheming from a mile away. She says one thing to your face and another behind your back. I figured her out when I was hanging around the Walker Mansion."

"But you showed some real class when you won over Thessaly. Uncle Brandon, you better treat her right—no bullying, no making her feel bad!"

Then, Sam leaned in closer to Brandon and whispered, "Liking my mom was a solid move too."

Kelvin was nearby, so Sam had to keep it on the down-low.

He quickly added, pretending to cough, "No worries, no worries, it just means the best was saved for last. The earlier stuff was just practice; now it's time for the real deal!"

"Yeah," Brandon nodded, "Having her is my good fortune."

"More than just fortune, she's like an angel sent from heaven for you, right?" Sam said. "When I grow up, I wanna marry Thessaly too!"

Lucy rolled her eyes, "Sam, Thessaly's with Uncle Brandon."

Sam turned to Thessaly, "Can you wait for me to grow up? I'll marry you then."

"Sam, Thessaly's gonna marry Uncle Brandon! She won't marry you!"

"Don't get married yet..."

Before he could finish, Penelope covered his mouth.

Marry, of course, she should marry! She must marry!

"Kids say the craziest things," Penelope laughed, "He's just being silly, don't mind him."

Sam pulled her hand away, "I'm serious, Thessaly..."

Penelope clamped his mouth shut again and picked him up, handing him over to Kelvin.

"Deal with your son!"

Kelvin caught him, and they exchanged a look of mutual annoyance.

"Alright, Thessaly picked Angelic Brandon, so that's that," Sam sighed, "He got here first, and I came later. But when I grow up, I'm definitely gonna marry a really beautiful girl!"

Even at his age, he knew what he wanted.

Kelvin said, "Marry someone who's kind, not just pretty."

"Isn't Mom pretty?"

That's a loaded question, one that could trip up most folks.

But Kelvin had the answer ready.

"Of course she's pretty, she's the most beautiful woman in the world to me," Kelvin said, "She's not just pretty, she's kind too, she's got it all."

"Isn't Thessaly kind?"

"How would I know if she's kind? You should ask Brandon."

Sam immediately looked at Brandon.

"Thessaly is definitely kind, very kind. Right?"

Brandon replied naturally, "Yes."

"Sam," Kelvin said softly, "Have you heard this saying?"

Sam looked puzzled, "What?"

"The prettier the woman, the more likely she is to deceive."

If you want a pretty one, you'd better be ready for it!

"Did Mom deceive you?" Sam's mind was racing, "Did she trick you?"

Kelvin was silent.

"Even if she did, would you let her?"

Kelvin stayed quiet.

Sam kept going, "So, Kelvin, by your logic, since Thessaly's so pretty, she must be the best at deceiving, right? Angelic Brandon must've been tricked by her, huh?"

Kelvin's face stayed calm and collected, not a hint of being rattled.

He replied, "You'll get it when you're older."

Even though it was just kids being kids, Thessaly's expression almost slipped.

Her composure wasn't quite as rock-solid as Kelvin's.

Luckily, Brandon wasn't looking her way, so he didn't catch it.

In the end, whether Thessaly tricked Brandon, Brandon tricked Thessaly, or they both pulled one over on each other, it all came down to who was the cleverest and who ended up on top!

"Alright, alright, you two always end up bickering over silly stuff," Penelope jumped in to change the subject, "Why are we here today, Sam, Lucy, do you remember?"

Lucy piped up, "We're here to see Uncle Brandon and his girlfriend, have dinner, and have some fun. Plus, we brought gifts for Uncle Brandon and Thessaly to show our appreciation!"

The kids had a strong bond with Brandon.

From the small town to LA, Uncle Brandon had always been there for them, lending a hand.

He was a lifelong respected elder!

Seeing Thessaly now, Sam's urge to play matchmaker between Brandon and Penelope disappeared.

Uncle Brandon and angelic Thessaly are such a perfect match!

Kelvin and Penelope also looked more and more like a couple!

Wonderfully, they'd all found their life partners!

"Now, go help the driver bring the gifts inside," Penelope instructed, "Both of you, no slacking. Gifts should be delivered personally to show sincerity."

Lucy and Sam then headed out of the living room together.

"They're so young, how can they carry them?" Thessaly watched them go with concern, "I hope they don't trip or fall."

"Don't worry, they're tougher than they look."

Thessaly smiled, "I haven't really taken care of kids before, so I'm not very experienced."

"As I've said," Penelope replied, "Have one yourself and you'll learn."

Her cheeks warmed as she glanced at Brandon.

The implication was clear.

Penelope added with a knowing smile, "Kids are adorable, though sometimes they can be a handful, but mostly they're a joy. Thessaly, you're so beautiful, don't let those genes go to waste. If you have a daughter, she'll be a beauty, and if you have a son, he'll be handsome!"

"My child..."

Thessaly suddenly began to imagine.

But she found she couldn't picture it at all.

Who would she have a child with?

Certainly not Brandon... Brandon wouldn't touch her.

Even if Brandon did, would she want Brandon's child?

Thessaly felt a wave of sadness.

She might seem like a glamorous star, but her life was actually bleak, with no future in sight.

She wanted success in her career, to become a leading figure in the film industry, leaving behind classic works that would be recommended and watched for years to come.

At the same time, she also wanted warmth in her life, a cozy home, a caring husband, and adorable children.
