Chapter 883 Is It a Coincidence or a Carefully Planned Layout

Penelope quickly masked her excitement, clenching her fists in anticipation.

Brandon had offered to give Thessaly a ride!

Oh my God!

What did this mean?

When a guy went out of his way for a girl, it could only mean one thing—he was interested in her!

Thessaly was taken aback. "Mr. Walker, you want to give me a ride?"

"Yeah."

Thessaly hesitated, unsure if she should accept.

Seeing her hesitation, Penelope was practically jumping out of her skin with impatience. She wished she could answer for Thessaly right then and there!

Thankfully, Thessaly thought for a moment and nodded. "If it's not too much trouble for you, Mr. Walker, then I appreciate it."

"No trouble at all, it's on my way," Brandon said. "I'm heading to a film production company to meet a director."

"A director?"

"Yeah, the company is planning to invest in a film, and I need to discuss it."

Penelope's eyes lit up—this was a golden opportunity!

She immediately chimed in. "Have you cast the lead yet? You should consider Thessaly!"

Brandon chuckled. "I have business dealings with her company. If she's suitable, I'll pass the script to her agent."

"No need for that," Penelope waved her hand dismissively. "She's a free agent now, with her studio. You can deal with her directly if you have a good script and investment!"

"Really?" Brandon raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Well then, I can discuss it with Ms. Winterbourne."

"Yes, you two should talk!" Penelope's joy was palpable, and she didn't bother to hide it. "You have plenty of time to discuss it on the way!"

Such a perfect opportunity for them to be alone together, to talk about work, and maybe even life.

Brandon drove, and Thessaly sat in the passenger seat.

Penelope waved them off. "Bye, drive safely!"

Watching the car disappear into the distance, Penelope let out a long breath, feeling elated.

She hummed a tune as she walked towards the Davis Group.

Just as she turned, she bumped into a solid chest.

Penelope instinctively stepped back, but a strong arm pulled her into an embrace.

She didn't need to look to know who it was.

"Kelvin, you scared me," Penelope rubbed her nose. "When did you get here?"

"Just now."

"Can you make some noise when you walk?"

Kelvin replied calmly. "You were too focused to notice me. Penelope, what made you so happy?"

She immediately shared. "Did you see the car that just drove off?"

"Yeah, that's Brandon's car."

Kelvin recognized it.

"And," Kelvin pursed his lips, "there was a woman in the passenger seat."

"That's Thessaly!" Penelope was ecstatic. "He's giving her a ride to the studio for an ad shoot, and Brandon is planning to invest in a major film! Imagine if Thessaly gets the lead role, how amazing would that be!"

This would mean more frequent interactions between Brandon and Thessaly.

Feelings grow over time!

"Brandon is entering the film industry?" Kelvin asked. "Are you sure?"

"He just said it himself. He's already chosen a director, and once the script is polished and the lead is confirmed, the project will be underway!"

Kelvin frowned slightly.

The Walker Corporation had never ventured into the film industry.

For years, there had been no indication of such intentions.

Why now, when Brandon wants to start a film project?

And just when Penelope and Thessaly had recently met.

Was this a coincidence, or a carefully planned move?

This reminded Kelvin of those photos.

Someone had orchestrated the paparazzi to take those photos and sent them to him, hiding their identity well. This person must be powerful and very familiar with him.

It could very well be Brandon!

But this was just Kelvin's suspicion; he lacked direct, solid evidence!

"Kelvin, Kelvin?" Penelope waved her hand in front of his face. "What are you thinking about? You're zoning out. Are you even listening to me?"

"I'm listening, go on."

"Forget it, you're just humoring me." She pouted, but quickly smiled again. "I hope Thessaly's first big break after leaving her agency is Brandon's film! The box office will be great!"

Kelvin quietly listened to her chatter, holding her hand as they walked towards the company.

Penelope worried about everything.

She wanted to be involved in everything.

As long as she was happy, that was all that mattered.

The other things, he would handle.

He hoped that the person behind it all wasn't Brandon.

Because Penelope would be heartbroken.

The car drove down the road.

Brandon was a steady driver, and the car was filled with a faint fragrance.

Thessaly tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you so much today, Mr. Walker. You saved me once, and now you're giving me a ride."

"Just call me Brandon," he smiled. "No need to be so formal."

"Then you can call me Thessaly."

"I watched your award-winning film," Brandon said. "Your acting was superb, you brought the character to life. When I finished watching, I thought this has to be the best film of the year. And you didn't disappoint, winning the Best Actress award."

Thessaly replied, "For an actor, a good script and a good director are rare finds."

Brandon glanced at her occasionally while holding the steering wheel.

"The film I'm discussing now, you can look at the script when it's ready. If you think it's suitable, you can audition," Brandon said calmly. "But I can't guarantee anything; it all depends on the director."

After a few seconds, he added, "And it depends on your acting skills. I believe you're very capable, but the director might have his vision."

Thessaly suddenly chuckled.

"Hmm? What's funny?" Brandon asked. "Did I say something wrong?"

"In the film industry, investors hold the most power. We call them the money men," Thessaly explained. "They decide who gets the role, and often people are replaced or added to the cast last minute. But with you... It's different."

She was surprised that Brandon respected the director's opinion so much.

His approach was opposite to the current trends in the entertainment industry!
