Chapter 760 This is Just the First Cut

Isabella avoided the major artery with this stab; after all, she didn't want Sam to die so quickly.

She wanted to play slowly, and she wanted Penelope to watch it all clearly!

"Sam!" Penelope seemed to have all her strength drained, suddenly lunging forward, watching the blood flow continuously. But she was helpless.

Kelvin pulled her back and held her in his arms.

He glanced at the wound on Sam's neck, which was about 3 inches long.

Fortunately, the wound wasn't deep.

Isabella probably just intended to teach a lesson, so she didn't strike too hard.

But for a child, this was already cruel enough.

"Don't look, Penelope." Kelvin covered Penelope's eyes. "The wound isn't deep; it won't be life-threatening."

"But how much pain must Sam be in." She wished that the knife had cut her instead! Even ten cuts would be fine!

Sam took a sharp breath, the pain spreading from his neck.

However, he didn't make a sound, didn't cry out in pain, and didn't shed a tear.

He was calm, unlike a kindergarten child!

"It's okay, I'm not in pain, Penelope." Sam even comforted her, "It's just a small wound, I won't die."

But the more he said this, the more Penelope felt heartbroken and guilty.

"I'm sorry, Sam, I'm sorry," she said. "We didn't protect you well; it was our negligence."

Kelvin gently patted her back, holding her trembling body, trying to give her some strength and comfort.

He thought, Penelope was too deeply involved.

Maybe from the moment Sam replaced her, she really started to see Sam as her son.

That was why she would tell him that Sam and Lucy were equally important.

"See," Isabella said, "this is just the first cut, Penelope, and you can't take it? If I make a few more cuts, how much more will you hurt? Oh, I just love seeing you like this."

"Where's your high and mighty attitude, your pride? Where did it all go? You are the happiest woman in LA, so many people envy you for marrying well, having good children, and coming from a good family. All the world's goodness is concentrated on you!" Isabella thoroughly enjoyed this feeling.

What she longed for was to see Penelope in utter despair!

She wanted to savor it, to experience it fully!

Blood flowed down Sam's neck, quickly staining his clothes.

He didn't move, nor did he raise his hand to wipe it.

But Sam's small hand was tightly clenched into a fist.

He was enduring the pain.

"Oh right," Isabella thought of something, "Penelope, I should tell you how I plan to torture Sam's body to torment your soul."

"First, this is the first cut, not too light, not too heavy, just to give you a taste."

"Next, where should I make the second cut? On his face? Or should I sever his tendons?"

"When there's no place left to cut, I think Sam's blood will almost be drained, half-dead, and at that moment..." Isabella looked up at the hospital window.

"I'll hold him, climb up," Isabella smiled happily, "then close my eyes, fall backward, jump down, and everything will be solved, once and for all. This life will end just like that."

"How about it?" she asked Penelope proudly, "Are you satisfied with this ending?"

Penelope couldn't speak anymore, leaning against Kelvin, her face pale, almost fainting.

Her mouth was already filled with the taste of blood.

She was about to collapse; just listening was heart-wrenching.

But Penelope told herself, she couldn't faint, she had to stay here with Sam, she had to guard him!

Kelvin held her, looking at the bodyguard. "Go, bring Brent and Debra over."

"Yes."

"I said, it won't help even if my parents come!" Isabella shouted, "I don't want to see them! Even if you call Brandon, I won't care! He lied to me! I won't forgive him!"

"I won't call Brandon." Kelvin looked at her, his gaze heavy. "Seeing his former fiancée in such a vicious state, he won't feel good. Isabella, I'm helping you maintain your dignity; this look of yours shouldn't be seen by Brandon!"

Isabella's hand trembled slightly, then quickly gripped the knife again.

Of course, she knew how terrifying she looked now.

How could she let Brandon see?

But if she didn't see him, she would never see Brandon again.

This was her last meeting with him.

In her heart, Isabella still loved Brandon, deeply loved him.

No matter how vicious and ruthless she was, there was always a soft spot reserved for Brandon.

She had loved him so deeply, giving all her youth.

Kelvin withdrew his gaze, looking at Penelope in his arms. "Penelope, are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she replied, "What should we do? Isabella wants to jump off the building with Sam."

This was over thirty floors high!

Jumping from such a height, not even God could save them!

They would surely die, their bodies shattered!

Kelvin answered softly, "I'll make arrangements, wait for me."

As soon as he let go, Penelope collapsed to the ground, her legs too weak to stand.

But she held onto the chair beside her with all her strength. "You go, don't worry about me."

She would hold on until Sam was rescued!

Kelvin glanced at her, then turned and walked out.

At the door, a large group of people was already standing.

All were bodyguards!

But they didn't make a sound!

"We've already called the police, Mr. Davis," the leading captain said. "The police will prioritize rescuing the hostage! Snipers are in the building opposite, looking for the best shooting point."

"The area around the hospital has also been cleared, no unauthorized personnel can enter, and a cordon has been set up."

"Mr. Davis, what should we do next, please instruct us!"

Kelvin thought for a few seconds, then began to give orders methodically.

"First, set up a safety cushion downstairs."

"Second, station agile personnel by the windows on this floor and the floors above and below, secure safety ropes, and be ready at any time. Because Isabella might choose to jump out the window."

"Third, no one is allowed to shoot without my permission!"

The captain responded, "Yes!"

Kelvin turned and glanced into the ward.

Isabella was now squatting in the corner, her back against the wall, using Sam as a shield in front of her, very safe, no one could touch her or harm her!

If she maintained this position, Kelvin and the police would have no way to carry out any rescue operation!

But if Isabella decided to jump out the window with Sam, there might still be a glimmer of hope!
