Chapter 898 One with Your Surname, One with Kelvin's Surname

Liam wrapped his arm around Sam's back, pulling him into a hug. "It's just a launch site! I'll take you there! Since you're into space, I'll make your wish come true!"

Sam's eyes lit up with excitement. "Grandpa, you can take me?"

"Of course I can."

"Wow!" Sam's admiration was evident.

Seeing Sam's enthusiasm for space, Liam felt a surge of pride and satisfaction. He was thrilled to be able to fulfill Sam's wish and show off a bit.

"We can go whenever you want," Liam said with a grand gesture. "We can go every weekend if you like! I have plenty of time and can always be with you. I have an old friend who works at NASA."

Hearing this, Sam completely forgot about Kelvin.

If he had known Liam could handle this so easily, he wouldn't have bothered asking Kelvin.

Looking back now, Sam felt he had been too humble.

It was practically a dark chapter in his life!

When had he ever tried so hard to please someone?

But now, with Liam around, who treated him the best and loved him the most, Sam felt confident that any request he had would be granted by Liam.

Thinking this, Sam straightened his back and looked at Kelvin differently.

"Grandpa is the best, so straightforward!" Sam said loudly on purpose. "From now on, if I need anything, I'll go to Grandpa first!"

"Good! Whatever you want, I'll give it to you!' Liam laughed heartily, patting Sam's head affectionately.

Looking at Sam was like seeing a young Kelvin. Liam felt a rush of emotions.

He had witnessed Kelvin's generation grow up, and now he was witnessing Sam's growth.

"Sam is smart and clever, even better than Kelvin was at his age," Liam said. "Sam is more outgoing, talkative, and cheerful than Kelvin. He's going to surpass Kelvin!"Sam stood even taller after the praise. "Of course I'm better than him," he replied. "Isn't that obvious?"

Everyone burst into laughter.

Kelvin's abilities were well-known to everyone.

In LA, if he claimed to be second, no one would dare claim to be first. But now, Sam was claiming the top spot!

Liam patted Sam's shoulder. 'Yes, each generation is better than the last! You'll be a genius, Sam, one in a million! Keep it up and surpass your dad, okay?'

"Got it!"

Sam's upbringing was completely different from Kelvin's.

Kelvin's parents divorced when he was young, and his stepmother came into the picture, later giving birth to his half-brother.

The only person he could rely on was Liam.

This environment shaped Kelvin's reserved personality.

Sam, on the other hand, had a carefree and happy childhood in a small town with his mom, Penelope, and Lucy. The family atmosphere was great.

Now, back at The King Manor, he was surrounded by loving family members and was the apple of the Davis family's eye.

The only time Sam wasn't entirely happy was when he lived with the Walker family.

But even then, Brandon treated him well, and he didn't suffer.

Kelvin wanted his kids to have the happy childhood he never had.

Despite Sam's mischief, Kelvin never scolded him for being playful.

Boys should be a bit spirited, after all.

"Not bad," Liam said, smiling broadly at Sam's confident voice. "Kelvin, while everyone is here, there's something I want to discuss."

"Go ahead, Grandpa."

Liam stroked his beard and pondered for a few seconds. "Now that Sam and Lucy are back with the Davis family, shouldn't we consider changing their last names?"

Penelope was taken aback by the suggestion.

She hadn't thought about this at all, but she understood Liam's feelings.

Sam and Lucy carried the Davis family blood, yet they had her last name, which wasn't quite right, especially in a prominent family like theirs.

Liam had probably been holding this in for a long time before bringing it up.

"I'm not saying both kids have to change their last names to Davis," Liam quickly explained when no one spoke. "Changing Sam's or Lucy's last name would be fine. Just one of them. Is that too much to ask?"

Liam's thinking was traditional, but he wasn't unreasonable.

The kids had Penelope's last name because the Davis family didn't know about them before.

Now that they were back, they couldn't both be Coopers.

"Grandpa," Penelope asked, "who do you want to change their last name?"

"I said it doesn't matter, Sam or Lucy. To me, they're both precious Davis family members. One can have your last name, and the other can have Kelvin's. How nice would that be?"

Liam smiled warmly. "Penelope, I'll let you choose. Do you want Sam to keep your last name or Lucy?"

Liam cleverly passed the decision to Penelope, knowing she was the one who truly had the say, not Kelvin.

The Davis men had a history of listening to their wives.

"Penelope," Kelvin leaned slightly towards her and whispered, "answer however you feel. Don't worry about anything else."

"It's my oversight for not considering this earlier."

"It's okay. The kids' last names aren't that important."

Kelvin didn't care about such superficial things. As long as the kids were his, that was enough.

Penelope asked softly, "You don't want the kids to have the last name Davis?"

"It's not about wanting or not wanting," Kelvin said calmly. "I don't mind if they have your last name or mine."

Penelope smiled, her eyes crinkling with joy.
