Chapter 881 Hopeing Brandon Hadn't Changed

Now both kids were blaming her, making it seem like she had committed some unforgivable crime!

"It's okay," Kelvin said as he stood up and started picking up the blanket from the floor. "You two don't need to worry about me."

Sam's eyes lit up, and he suddenly rushed forward, hugging Kelvin's leg tightly.

"Dad, you're so pitiful! How could Mom treat you like this? It breaks my heart! You're such a big shot in LA. How can you put up with this?"

"I wish I could sleep on the floor for you, to calm Mom down! You've been wronged so much, why didn't you tell me? I would have helped you!"

Kelvin couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

This performance was way over the top.

Lucy, who usually seemed so quiet and well-behaved, decided to follow Sam's lead.

She ran over and hugged Kelvin's other leg.

"Dad, Sam and I will always love you and care for you. This time, Mom went too far. We'll stand up for you!"

Penelope woke up to find herself the villain of the family.

All she did was make Kelvin sleep on the floor!

And it was his first time! Plus, he was the one who messed up first!

And here he was, not saying a word, enjoying the kids standing up for him!

Penelope was exasperated. "Why don't you ask him what he did?"

Lucy said, "No matter what he did, we can talk it out, apologize, and correct the mistake. We shouldn't punish Dad like this."

Even her most obedient and well-behaved daughter had turned against her?

Sam was a lost cause.

For the sake of some spaceship or satellite, he had already become Kelvin's lackey!

"Alright," finally, Kelvin spoke up. "Don't blame your mom. It's my fault. I didn't do well enough, so I made her angry. She has every right to punish me, and I'll do better in the future."

"You two, listen to your mom, don't make her worry, don't make her sad."

"When Mom's happy, the whole family is happy. When Mom's not happy, well, the whole family needs to be careful."

Was he defending her?

And now he was playing the innocent?

She could play that game too!

Penelope flopped onto the pillow and started wailing, "I've done so much for this family, and now you three are all ganging up on me."

"All I did was make Kelvin sleep on the floor for one night! I kicked him off the bed, but he was the one who messed up first!"

"If you keep pushing me like this, I can't stay in this house anymore!"

Kelvin couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.

Sam and Lucy laughed out loud.

Seeing everyone laugh, Penelope couldn't help but join in.

"Alright," Penelope said, "let's go downstairs for breakfast. School for you two, work for us."

Davis Group.

In the CEO's office, Kelvin stood by the floor-to-ceiling window.

"Mr. Davis," Ryan walked in, "what can I do for you?"

"Check out the restaurant and their batch of red wine. Focus on the bottle Brandon bought last night."

Ryan nodded. "Got it, Mr. Davis."

"Get me an answer ASAP."

Kelvin had a hunch something was off.

Penelope should've been exhausted last night, but she had insomnia.

Everything she ate was normal, except for that red wine, which seemed suspicious.

Kelvin needed to get to the bottom of it.

He hoped he was just being paranoid.

"Understood," Ryan said. "Also, the talent agency wants to meet with you. When would be a good time?"

"No meeting. Have someone else handle it."

"What if Ms. Winterbourne wants to see you?"

"Not seeing her either."

Kelvin had done all he could.

The agency was willing to transfer Thessaly's contract, and that was enough.

He didn't need to get involved anymore.

He wanted to avoid any more private interactions with Thessaly.

The last incident had been enough of a lesson.

He didn't want to be caught in another scandal.

"Yes, Mr. Davis, I'll decline for you," Ryan noted everything down. "Anything else?"

"That's all."

Kelvin waved his hand, looking out into the distance.

He was pondering a question.

If Brandon had crossed a line and it was exposed, what would happen?

To Penelope, Brandon was a lifelong friend who had helped her countless times.

She owed him a debt that couldn't be repaid.

Would she forgive Brandon?

Kelvin lowered his eyes, hoping Brandon hadn't changed.

He'd better be like Nathan, smart enough to step back to his original position, quietly watching over Penelope from afar.

Davis Group, lobby.

The receptionist put down the phone and politely replied, "I'm sorry, Ms. Winterbourne, Mr. Davis is unavailable at the moment. Please come back another time."

This was not the outcome Thessaly had expected.

Kelvin wouldn't see her?

But Thessaly had no choice but to accept it.

"Alright," she nodded. "Thank you."

"If you need anything, you can contact Mr. Davis's assistant," the receptionist reminded her. "Mr. Davis is very busy."

Thessaly smiled. "Okay."

She had come specifically to thank Kelvin.

Her contract was in the process of being transferred.

From now on, Thessaly would be free, no longer under the company's control. She could choose her roles freely, without anyone forcing her.

She was her boss. No one could threaten her with a contract anymore!

All thanks to Kelvin and Penelope!

As she walked out of the Davis Group, Thessaly headed towards her car.

She was deep in thought, head down, not paying attention to her surroundings.

A young guy on a skateboard was speeding by, struggling to control it, and in a flash, he was right in front of Thessaly.

He shouted, "Move! Move! I can't stop! Get out of the way!"

By the time Thessaly looked up, it was too late.

All she saw was the skateboarder heading straight for her!

Her pupils contracted, and she stood frozen, unsure of what to do.

At that moment, a pair of hands suddenly reached out, grabbing her arm and pulling her aside forcefully.
