Chapter 891 You Let Timothy In, Didn't You

Monica glanced towards the staircase.

Kelvin and Penelope had taken the kids upstairs to get ready for bed, but they had been gone for quite a while now, with no sign of them returning.

It was pretty clear that as long as she and Timothy didn't leave, they wouldn't come back down.

Everyone knew what was going on.

They were giving her and Timothy some space to sort things out themselves!

It seemed even best friends couldn't be fully relied upon in times like these.

"Penelope already has two kids, and you're still single," Timothy whispered in her ear. "Don't you think it's time to step up your game?"

Normally, Monica would have shot him a fierce glare and snapped back at him.

But today, she was as quiet and docile as a kitten.

She couldn't help but wonder if having a family and kids would make her gentler...

Stop!

Monica shook herself out of it. What was she thinking?

Seeing her so well-behaved, Timothy's heart melted.

The usually fierce and bold wildcat had turned into a sweet little bunny, and it was adorable!

Timothy held her hand tightly as they walked out of The King Manor.

Before leaving the living room, he quickly glanced back.

He had already noticed the corner of a garment peeking out from the second-floor corner!

They must have been enjoying the eavesdropping!

Penelope hadn't expected him to turn back suddenly, and she quickly pulled back in fright.

She patted her chest. "Do you think Timothy noticed us?"

"Yeah," Kelvin replied.

"What!"

The three of them stared at Kelvin, looking conflicted.

"How embarrassing," Lucy said. "We were just concerned about Godfather and Godmother's relationship."

Sam looked even more conflicted. "It makes me look so nosy, but it was Mom who made us eavesdrop."

Penelope was speechless.

She grabbed Sam by the ear. "You seemed more into it than I was, and now you're blaming me?"

"Ouch, ouch, it hurts!"

"Stop pretending, I didn't even use any force," Penelope said. "Tell me, were you the one who let Timothy in?"

Sam immediately denied it. "No, it wasn't me! I was watching cartoons the whole time!"

How did Kelvin and Penelope know it was he who let the Godfather in?

Did Lucy snitch?

No way, they were siblings, there had to be some trust!

Sam glanced at Lucy.

Lucy quickly waved her hands. "I didn't say anything."

She was also puzzled as to how their parents had figured it out.

Did adults have some kind of special powers?

"It was you!" Penelope said. "I saw you sneaking out. I just didn't stop you."

As a mom, she always kept an eye on her kids.

So even if Sam and Lucy were at home, Penelope would glance their way now and then to make sure they were safe and sound.

When Penelope looked over and only saw Lucy, she guessed what Sam was up to.

Sam realized, "Oh, I get it. You wanted Godfather to come in, but you were too embarrassed to do it yourselves! Now that I've done it, you want me to take the blame! Is there no justice in this world?"

Penelope coughed and withdrew her hand. "No one's blaming you. You did a great job! Well done!"

"Of course," Sam said, basking in the praise. "I couldn't let Godfather stand out there alone in the cold, worrying..."

Penelope asked, "I didn't realize you and Timothy were so close."

"Of course, it's a guy thing. You women wouldn't understand!"

"When did you and Timothy become friends? Tell me."

Penelope was confused.

Since Sam had come to LA, he had barely interacted with Timothy, only meeting him a few times. And back then, Sam's identity hadn't been revealed, so he and Timothy didn't seem that close.

Kelvin spoke up, "Their friendship started a long time ago. If Timothy hadn't let him go at the hotel, Penelope, I would have found you sooner, known you were Molly, and known Sam was your son."

Penelope immediately played dumb and checked the time. "Wow, it's so late! Sam, Lucy, time for bed. Kids shouldn't be listening to adult gossip. If your Godfather and Godmother get together, I'll let you know!"

She took each of them by the hand and led them to their rooms.

Lucy asked innocently, "Mom, what if Godfather and Godmother don't get together?"

Penelope was stumped.

That shouldn't happen.

Judging by Timothy's determination and sincerity, and Monica's reaction, it was clear they liked each other. It was only a matter of time before they got together.

Sam said. "They will end up together!"

Penelope laughed. "Why do you want them to be together so much?"

"I can't say."

"Not even if you whisper it to me?"

"Nope," Sam replied. "I'm their number one fan! Witnessing their true love!"

Back then, he had tried to set up Brandon with Penelope, but that didn't work out.

Although Kelvin was okay, he had grown to accept him and thought he was good enough for Penelope. He gave him a passing grade in all aspects!

Kelvin was decent, no major flaws, but nothing extraordinary either.

Sam had only cozied up to Kelvin for the sake of the spaceship!

But deep down, Sam still felt a tiny bit of regret.

Since Brandon and Penelope were impossible, he decided to matchmake another couple to fill that void.

If Godfather and Godmother got together, he would deserve a lot of credit!

"Yes, yes, time for bed. Your Godfather will remember you let him in today, and he'll thank you properly later," Penelope said. "Now, off to your rooms."

After settling the kids, Penelope got ready for bed too.

She flopped onto the bed, rolled over comfortably, and snuggled into Kelvin's arms.

He patted her back. "Why so excited?"

"I need to check if Monica got home," Penelope said. "And ask her how she feels. You put on your headphones and listen to music, no eavesdropping on girl talk!"

She started to put the headphones on Kelvin.

He held her hand. "You're going to call Monica?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure?" Kelvin raised an eyebrow. "What if she's still with Timothy?"

Penelope's eyes widened. "No way, it's so late, and they're still..."
