Chapter 834 Choosing Thessaly as the Spokesperson

"Can you stop beating around the bush?"

Seeing her getting impatient, Kelvin finally said, "I don't really follow the entertainment industry, but if you really want to know who I admire the most, it's Thessaly."

He didn't say "like," he used the word "admire."

Liking someone is different from admiring them.

He could admire many women, but he would only like one woman, and that was Penelope.

"You actually admire her? That's surprising. I thought guys like you would go for someone like Jessamine, the delicate type that makes you want to protect her," Penelope said. "So why didn't you choose Thessaly as the spokesperson?"

"I told you, I don't follow the entertainment industry. I don't know who's popular and I don't watch their movies, either. The marketing department said Jessamine is trending right now and recommended her, so I decided to meet her."

In Kelvin's work, only interests and suitability mattered.

Choosing a spokesperson was part of his job.

He wouldn't mix personal preferences and opinions because they were irrelevant.

What mattered was that the spokesperson could bring Adoring Cupid visibility, traffic, and popularity.

Penelope finally understood, "So that's how it is. Then let's tentatively decide on Thessaly and confirm her suitability after meeting her."

"You're the boss."

"Alright!" Penelope nodded. "I think her vibe aligns well with Adoring Cupid's brand philosophy. She's independent, self-reliant, and has a strong, charismatic presence. As long as her personality isn't too quirky, she's basically a done deal."

Kelvin wasn't particularly concerned about these matters.

He was more interested in what to eat tonight.

Food was essential, and naturally, so was enjoying life.

His fingers slowly tightened. "Ms. Designer, are we done discussing work?"

Penelope felt the warmth of his palm on her waist.

She said, "Aren't you ever tired?"

"I've held back for four years. Now that I can finally do as I please, do you think I'd feel tired?"

Penelope quickly tried to get up.

But Kelvin's hand firmly held her down, making her unable to move.

She squeaked like a trapped mouse, "Kelvin, can you let me go back to the jewelry department first?"

She was late for the meeting today, and now, at the end of the workday, she wasn't at her desk but in the CEO's office, coming and going together with Kelvin.

The office gossip would be flying all over the place!

"Go back for what?"

"To wait until the end of the workday!"

"It's already the end of the workday."

Penelope instinctively wanted to check the time, but Kelvin's lips pressed down.

"No need to worry about the time. If I say it's the end of the workday, then it is."

Five minutes later, Kelvin and Penelope emerged from the office.

He held Penelope's hand in one hand, car keys in the other, with his suit jacket draped over his shoulder, looking calm and satisfied.

Penelope kept her head down, biting her lip.

Her lips were glistening and red, clearly showing what had just happened.

She didn't want anyone to see her like this!

"Mr. Davis," Ryan said, "Are you leaving?"

"Yeah, heading home."

"What?" Ryan was shocked.

Kelvin raised an eyebrow slightly. "What, do you want to work overtime?"

"No, no, please, you both have a good evening!"

Ryan quickly ran to the elevator, eagerly pressing the button and respectfully seeing them off.

Oh my God!

He could leave work half an hour early today!

This was a surprise for everyone in the executive office!

The executive office had the highest workload, the most exhausting tasks, and the most overtime. As long as Kelvin was in the building, they couldn't leave!

Kelvin was known for being a workaholic!

Forget overtime; days when they could leave on time were rare!

Who would have thought there'd be a day when they could leave early!

Ryan quickly walked to the secretary's office door and knocked.

Everyone looked up at him, expecting him to announce more overtime work.

"Mr. Davis and Mrs. Davis have just left together," Ryan said. "You know what that means."

After a few seconds of silence, the secretary's office erupted in cheers!

This was a rare opportunity!

Ryan was excited too, but tried to stay calm, "I think there will be more days like this in the future. Mr. Davis will likely prioritize family now and won't work as much overtime as before."

The good days for the executive office had finally arrived!

They used to envy other departments, but now, it was their turn to be envied!

Some were skeptical and peered out the window, watching the reserved parking spot at the Davis Group entrance.

Then...

They saw Kelvin and Penelope get into the car one after the other, driving away and merging into the traffic!

Night fell.

At the Walker Mansion, in the study.

A person walked in from outside, head down, with an ordinary appearance, the kind you wouldn't remember after a glance.

Very average, very common.

"Mr. Walker."

"Any updates today?"

"Mr. Davis followed his usual routine: meetings, approving documents, and meeting with company executives. But the only difference was that Mr. Davis met with a celebrity, Jessamine, in the afternoon."

Brandon turned around, staring at him, "Jessamine?"

"Yes."

"Why did Kelvin meet a celebrity?"

"I asked around the office, and it seems he's selecting a spokesperson for 'Adoring Cupid.'"

This person was a low-level clerk in the Davis Group executive office, Leander Westbrook.

Usually, he handled errands and odd jobs, with a low salary and low status, anyone could boss him around.

But he worked in the executive office, able to quickly and accurately get first-hand information about Kelvin!

So, Brandon targeted him and bought him off!

From now on, this clerk would be Brandon's informant around Kelvin!

"A spokesperson?" Brandon's expression changed slightly, then he smiled, "Interesting. Go on."

"However, it seems the meeting didn't go well. Jessamine left Mr. Davis's office with a dark face, and Ryan had to drag her out."

"Why? What happened?" Brandon asked. "Did Jessamine try to seduce Kelvin to climb the ranks?"

Given Kelvin's status, countless women would naturally try to throw themselves at him!

Such things were normal.

Brandon hoped Kelvin would be subdued by some woman!

Then, Penelope would be his.

"I don't know what happened inside, and even Ryan might not know," Leander said. "But Mrs. Davis was in the office at the time."

"Penelope was there too?"

Brandon furrowed his brow, deep in thought.

He didn't speak, and Leander stood quietly.

Leander was just an ordinary employee, earning a modest salary, living a relatively tight life.
