Chapter 928 What Benefits Did Brandon Give You?

For Kelvin, someone like Paul wasn't worth his time or effort.

Paul had hurt Thessaly, and Kelvin had no connection or feelings for Thessaly.

Kelvin paced back and forth in his study, his brow furrowed.

"Is there no other clue from the restaurant besides the surveillance footage?" Kelvin asked. "Was there anything suspicious in the private room or at the booth?"

According to Penelope, she and Thessaly had been sitting in a booth by the window, enjoying their meal.

Just as they were finishing up, Brandon arrived to meet Paul in the private room to discuss a movie investment.

Then, the three of them went to the private room, and soon after, they felt dizzy and lost consciousness.

But Paul remained conscious, only to be knocked out later... So, the problem must have been with the food at the booth!

Could it be that when Brandon arrived, he secretly drugged Penelope and Thessaly while they weren't paying attention?

But the booth's surveillance was still intact, capturing every moment clearly. Brandon had no chance to make a move.

Just then, his phone rang.

"Mr. Davis," Ryan's voice came through, "we've identified a suspect at the restaurant."

"A suspect?"

"Yes, a waiter confessed, and we found evidence."

Kelvin frowned.

A waiter?

He knew very well that Brandon was behind all this!

This waiter must be Brandon's scapegoat!

Still, a thorough interrogation was necessary!

"Bring him in," Kelvin ordered. "Immediately."

"Yes, Mr. Davis."

Kelvin tossed his phone aside and pressed his fingers to his temples.

When he saw Brandon and Penelope lying in bed together, naked, he was furious, terrified, and even wanted to destroy everything.

He wanted to hide it all from Penelope.

But now, hours after the incident, Kelvin had calmed down.

He increasingly believed that Brandon hadn't succeeded in doing anything to Penelope!

Brandon was lying! Pretending! Acting!

Because, based on the timeline, Brandon didn't have enough time to do anything to Penelope!

Kelvin's bodyguards found the motel just as the restaurant's surveillance went down, capturing Brandon, Penelope, and Thessaly leaving the booth for the private room, with only a half-hour gap.

In that half-hour, it would take at least twenty minutes to get from the restaurant to the motel.

So, Brandon and Penelope only had ten minutes in the motel room.

Ten minutes... Could Brandon have finished in that time?

For Kelvin, proving that nothing happened between Brandon and Penelope was more important than uncovering the whole truth and catching Brandon.

Penelope couldn't handle it; she would overthink and come up with terrifying ideas.

He couldn't let her continue like this.

She even mentioned divorce... Kelvin slammed his fist on the desk, his veins popping as anger coursed through him.

Soon, Ryan brought the waiter in.

"Mr. Davis, he's here," Ryan said. "Do you want to continue the interrogation?"

Kelvin glanced at the waiter. The guy was tall and thin, looking utterly unremarkable.

"What did he say?" Kelvin asked coolly, lighting a cigarette but not smoking it, not wanting Penelope to smell it on him.

Ryan gave the waiter a shove. "Tell him what you told me!"

The waiter trembled. "I-I didn't mean to target Mrs. Davis... Mr. Davis, I didn't know she was Mrs. Davis. I'm just a nobody; how could I know your wife? My target was Thessaly!"

Kelvin narrowed his eyes. "Thessaly?"

"Yes, she's a movie star, beautiful with a great figure. Even with sunglasses and a hat, I recognized her when I served the food," the waiter explained. "I'm a huge fan, watched many of her movies! I couldn't believe I saw her in person!"

"But the restaurant has rules: no disturbing guests, no photos. I liked her so much, so... I lost my mind and put some drugs in the water..."

"Mr. Davis, I swear, I only wanted Thessaly! When I saw them leave the booth for the private room, I waited outside, listening. When they all passed out, I went in through the side door and knocked out the guy who hadn't drunk the water."

Kelvin listened expressionlessly. "Go on."

The waiter shrank back. "You... you know the rest."

"You wanted Thessaly?" Kelvin asked. "How did Paul get involved?"

"Yeah, but I didn't expect him to wake up so fast. I was scared he'd see me and expose me. I panicked and ran. I didn't think... you'd catch me."

Ridiculous! Not a word of it was believable!

A waiter, where did he get the drugs? How did he move four people to the motel?

And how could a waiter disable the surveillance?

Kelvin walked up to the waiter and threw a knife in front of him.

"Mr. Davis..." the waiter stammered. "What... what is this..."

"Your life is in my hands."

"No, no, please... I admit, I was wrong. I didn't do anything to your wife. She and the other guy were in the next room. I never went in! She just drank the water, and the drug wore off... I don't deserve to die for this!"

Kelvin said coldly, "Keep lying."

The waiter kept pleading, "I'm not lying, Mr. Davis, it's the truth. If I knew she was your wife, I wouldn't have dared, even with a hundred lives!"

Kelvin crouched down, slowly picking up the knife. His finger brushed the sharp, clean blade.

"What did Brandon offer you?" Kelvin raised an eyebrow. "To make you so loyal, even facing death, you won't confess?"

He pressed the knife to the waiter's face. Cold, chilling.

The waiter trembled, nearly fainting from fear. "I-I don't understand what Mr. Davis is saying... Who's Brandon? I don't know him!"

"Still not talking?"

"I really don't know Brandon! I wish I could shift the blame, but I did put drugs in the water. I was reckless, wanting to mess with a movie star..."
