Chapter 1019 The Top Female Billionaire!
"No, no! You're being way too negative!" Penelope shook her head. "We'll be happy together, growing old side by side, watching Sam and Lucy grow up, get married, and have kids. We'll grow old together."
Kelvin rubbed his nose against hers. "I'm already going gray. Do I look like an old man to you?"
"Nope, you don't count!"
Kelvin chuckled softly.
Penelope wrapped her arms around his neck, still feeling uneasy, as though he might vanish at any given moment.
She wanted to hold onto him, to feel his presence, to ensure he was truly there.
"You said you're worried something might happen to you, so you're transferring all your shares to me now..." Penelope asked. "Aren't you worried something might happen to me?"
"Don't be silly. I'll protect you."
"But what if, just in case, something happens?" Penelope pouted. "Isn't that what you just said? We're both human, and anything can happen. We can't predict the future."
She had learned to use his own words against him.
Kelvin replied, "Penelope, have you forgotten? I'm the CEO of Davis Group. If something were to happen to you, I could manage all the risks and handle everything. But if something happens to me, can you manage it?"
That's true... When it comes to running the company, Penelope couldn't compare to Kelvin!
In fact, no one in all of LA could match Kelvin!
He was a business prodigy, the head of the Davis family, and the CEO who led Davis Group to a trillion-dollar scale. With him around, any challenge was surmountable.
But without him, Davis Group would be like a ship without a captain!
"Alright, alright," Penelope mumbled. "You always have your reasons, one after another. I can't argue with you."
He said, "You don't need to argue with me. Just love me."
"Do you even need to ask?" Penelope raised an eyebrow. "Of course I love you, just like you love me."
"I love you, very much, more than you love me..."
Penelope shook her head. "No, Kelvin, I love you just as much, if not more."
She no longer doubted Kelvin's love for her.
She knew he was there, always there.
Even though they had talked things through and Penelope's misgivings had been dispelled. Penelope understood Kelvin's reasons for his actions, but she still felt uneasy and insecure.
Before bed, she threw herself into Kelvin's arms, holding him tightly and refusing to let go.
Kelvin enjoyed her rare display of affection. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just want to hold you."
"Are you planning to stay up all night?"
Penelope poked his chest. "Is sex the only thing on your mind at night?"
"I think about everything else during the day."
Penelope hummed softly, finding the most comfortable position in his arms, and slowly closed her eyes.
"Kelvin..."
"I'm here."
"I love you," she murmured, her voice sleepy and lazy like a kitten. "I love you so much... I never knew I could love someone this much."
"I love you too."
Receiving love in return was a rare and precious thing. Some people spent their whole lives without ever experiencing it.
Davis Group
CEO's Office
Chief Legal Officer Dwight arrived early, organizing contracts and confirming each clause with Kelvin. Given the stakes, everything had to be meticulously reviewed because it involved a trillion-dollar company.
Kelvin said calmly, "I don't want to keep a single share. Transfer everything to Mrs. Davis."
"Mr. Davis..." Dwight hesitated, "Should we add a clause stating that Mrs. Davis holds the shares on behalf of Sam and Lucy until they come of age?"
"Optional."
Dwight couldn't help but advise, "Mr. Davis, for safety's sake, you should add it. Suppose... just suppose."
This was a tough job, and Dwight was anxious.
"Mr. Davis, if you and Mrs. Davis divorce, all the shares will belong to her, and you won't get anything. Are you sure you want to transfer everything to her unconditionally?"
Who could guarantee they'll never divorce or fall out of love?
"Suppose Mrs. Davis remarries and has more children," Dwight continued. "Then more people would be entitled to the shares."
After speaking, Dwight waited quietly for Kelvin's response.
Kelvin's deep voice, full of trust, replied, "She won't. She won't."
"Mr. Davis, never test human nature..."
His voice turned stern. "Enough!"
Dwight immediately fell silent, but his expression remained worried.
Kelvin understood Dwight's concerns. Dwight was looking out for him, protecting his interests.
Kelvin knew the risks. If Penelope betrayed him even a little, he would lose everything.
But he trusted her. His Penelope wasn't that kind of woman.
"Do as I say," Kelvin softened his tone. "I'll bear any consequences myself. It's not your concern."
"Yes, Mr. Davis."
At that moment, Timothy arrived.
"What's so urgent that you had to call me over?" Timothy asked lazily but with a sharp presence. "Dwight's here too."
"Mr. Foster."
Timothy glanced at the contract in Dwight's hand. "Share transfer agreement? You're giving Penelope more shares? How much this time?"
Kelvin replied, "All of it."
"What?!"
Even Timothy, who had been with Kelvin for years, was shocked and stood up abruptly.
All of it!
That meant Penelope would instantly become the wealthiest woman in the country!
"Kelvin, calm down," Timothy said. "What did you do that you need to give her so much to make up for it?"
Kelvin's expression remained unchanged. "Stop talking nonsense."
"But I can't think of any other reason."
"What's mine is hers, and what's hers is mine. Ultimately, it's all for Sam and Lucy," Kelvin explained. "It's easier for her to transfer it to the kids later. It's all the same."
Timothy wanted to say more, but Kelvin raised his hand to stop him. "It's decided. I have my reasons."
