Chapter 878 Do Not Meet Brandon Behind My Back Anymore

"Scared? Penelope, are you afraid of me?"

"It's just that when you mentioned Brandon marrying a look-alike..." Penelope glanced up at him, "Your eyes were so intense."

"Well, he's the loser, and I'm the winner."

Penelope swallowed hard. "But, if Brandon ends up marrying someone who looks like me, wouldn't that bother you?"

"No, it wouldn't," Kelvin replied. "Because that person wouldn't be you."

Penelope shivered.

She really couldn't understand men's thought processes, especially their intense desire to win.

"Anyway, Brandon and I have agreed that we'll always be friends. We'll continue to see each other, so please don't make it difficult for me every time."

"Next time you see him, you can bring me along."

"Bring you? Are you sure?"

Could she imagine Kelvin singing Happy Birthday to Brandon at a party like today?

Just the thought of it made Penelope's scalp tingle!

Kelvin said calmly, "I'm sure. Can't there be a third person when you meet him?"

"Of course."

"Then it's settled."

Penelope agreed. "Alright, I'll bring you next time."

Kelvin looked down at her stomach. "How are you feeling? Still in pain?"

"No, I'm fine now. We can go home."

She bent down to find her shoes when she heard Kelvin say, "Penelope, Brandon has flaws. He's helped you a lot and always shows his best side to you, so you don't see them."

"Brandon's a lot like Isabella."

Brandon and Isabella were the type who seemed courteous when they had what they wanted.

But once they felt threatened or were about to lose something, their true, aggressive nature would show.

Before Penelope outshone Isabella, Isabella had a stellar reputation in LA.

High society praised her for being a good homemaker and a social butterfly, with hardly any negative comments.

But in the end, Isabella showed her true, vicious colors.

As for Brandon, it was best to keep things as they were. Kelvin wouldn't hesitate to act if he found any dirt on him.

To Kelvin, Brandon was like a dormant volcano—maybe it would never erupt, or maybe it would explode one day.

Penelope frowned. She didn't agree with Kelvin's view.

How could Brandon be anything like Isabella?

She was about to argue when Kelvin suddenly scooped her up. "Let's go home."

She obediently leaned into his arms.

Kelvin carried her out of the hospital in plain sight.

The nurses at the station whispered as they watched his tall, imposing figure walk away.

"You know who they are, right? Mr. Davis from the top family in LA and his wife!"

"All this fuss for what? Menstrual cramps."

"Are all rich people this dramatic?"

"If I were Mrs. Davis, I'd be even more dramatic!"

"True. Look at her, she's so lucky. Mr. Davis carries her in and out."

Hospitals saw all kinds of human behavior.

Many ordinary men couldn't even do half of what Kelvin did!

Back at The King Manor, the house was quiet.

Penelope, still worried, checked on Sam and Lucy before heading back to the master bedroom.

Being a mom meant her kids were her whole world, her top priority.

Kelvin was flipping through a calendar.

"Do you care so little about your own body?" he asked without looking up. "You even forgot your period?"

"Too much was happening then. Sam was in the hospital. I couldn't keep track of everything, and I didn't feel unwell."

"From now on, I'll keep track for you."

Penelope slipped under the covers. "Fine, remind me when it's time. If my period doesn't come, it means I might be pregnant, and that's on you. You have to take full responsibility."

"Responsibility is mine. It's my child, after all," Kelvin said nonchalantly. "Besides, Sam and Lucy are okay with having another sibling."

"What?! You asked them? When? I didn't hear anything."

"As long as they're okay with it. And as long as you want it, I want it too."

Penelope chuckled. "Of course you do. You don't have to give birth."

Kelvin glanced at her. "Do you think I can't do anything to you right now?"

"Yep," Penelope said smugly. "For this week, you have to behave."

"Don't you think I have other ways to deal with you?"

Penelope almost stopped laughing.

He'd already made her wear those outfits. What else could he do?

"I'm a bit tired. I'm going to sleep now," Penelope said. "Goodnight, turn off the light!"

"Weren't you just full of energy? Now you're tired?"

Kelvin placed his hand on her waist and gently pulled her into his arms.

Penelope, afraid he'd come up with new ways to torment her, kept her eyes tightly shut.

She didn't want to endure his antics during her period!

She needed rest, and so should he.

"You know," Kelvin's lips brushed her ear as he sighed softly, "I never know what to do with you. Penelope, don't meet Brandon behind my back again. I don't trust him."

"Why don't you trust Brandon? He's a gentleman."

In the darkness, Kelvin's eyes sharpened.

Brandon felt completely different from him now.

But this was just Kelvin's suspicion and observation, with no concrete evidence.

He even suspected that the photos of him and Thessaly were taken by someone Brandon hired.

First, take the photos, then send them to the Davis Group's PR department to create a rift between him and Penelope.

Then, Brandon could use his birthday as an excuse to invite Penelope over and take advantage of the situation.

Step by step.

Someone who could come up with such a plan and execute it was not an ordinary schemer!
