Chapter 842 When Did You Start Liking Nathan

At noon, he asked Ryan to bring her some extra food.

"Oh, by the way," Penelope said, "Don't forget what you promised me last night!"

Her last words before bed were still about Thessaly.

She couldn't let Kelvin get away with it!

"Don't worry, I remember."

Only then did Penelope feel satisfied, making sure the two kids ate well—they were still growing!

When she arrived at the office, clocked in, and sat at her desk, Penelope opened her bag and found several lollipops inside. She wasn't sure if Sam or Lucy had put them there.

"Tina, here you go." Penelope handed one over. "A little treat from the kids."

Tina was sitting at her computer, lost in thought, not even hearing Penelope speak!

Penelope was puzzled.

She leaned over and glanced at Tina's screen—

It was displaying Nathan's profile.

Nathan, dressed in a suit, looked every bit the business elite—clean-cut and polished, clearly from a well-bred family.

Penelope tapped the screen with a lollipop.

"Hey, Tina!" Penelope said, snapping her out of her trance. "You didn't even hear me, did you? Checking out Nathan, huh?"

Tina panicked and tried to close the webpage, but the more she hurried, the harder it was to close!

She was about to throw the mouse in frustration!

"Relax, don't take it out on the company computer. If you break it, you'll have to pay for it. Besides, it's just me who saw it, and no one else noticed." Penelope said, "I won't tell anyone."

"Penelope!"

Tina finally managed to close the page, her face flushed with embarrassment.

Penelope handed her the lollipop.

Tina took it, fiddling with it in her hands, head down.

Penelope nudged her shoulder. "So, you have someone in your heart, huh? I was wondering why you were so eager to distance yourself from Ryan when so many single women in the office are eyeing him. Turns out you like..."

"Shh! Shh!" Tina quickly signaled her to stop. "Penelope, you have to keep this a secret!"

Since she had been found out, Tina didn't bother to deny it anymore. The more she explained, the more it would seem like she was hiding something!

She decided to just admit it.

She knew her feelings couldn't be hidden forever; one day, they would be discovered.

Penelope was a bit surprised that Tina admitted it so directly.

She thought Tina would come up with an excuse or something.

It seemed Tina was really deep into it, truly in love.

Penelope looked around, seeing no one was paying attention, and lowered her voice. "I won't say anything until you two are official. Once you are, you can announce it yourselves."

"How could that ever happen, let alone an announcement..." Tina said. "Penelope, you're overestimating me. Mr. Smith is someone important, and I'm just..."

"I told you, don't underestimate yourself. You're amazing too."

"I'm good among ordinary people. But compared to Mr. Smith's level, I'm nothing."

Penelope replied, "Nathan and I grew up together and went to school together for over ten years. I know his personality and values very well. He doesn't care about family background or social status, so you really have a chance."

Tina stayed silent.

"Give it a shot, you might be surprised. If you don't, you'll just watch him end up with someone else."

"I..."

Penelope encouraged her, "Nathan's still single, which means he hasn't found anyone he likes among the girls around him. It shows he's still looking for the right person. I'm just a part of his past, not his future."

"But Tina, you could be his future. He doesn't dislike you; in fact, he finds you cute and enjoys your company. Your chances are high!"

"Be more proactive. Love isn't just about the guy making the first move."

Tina still felt insecure. "Can I really do it?"

"I say you can, so you can! I know Nathan's likes, dislikes, personality, and boundaries inside out. I can help you. No other girl has such a good wingwoman."

Tina smiled. "Penelope, you're so kind."

Seeing her in love, Penelope couldn't help but think—

Young love is always so sweet!

"Because I genuinely think you two are a great match."

"But you said a few days ago that Ryan and I were a good match."

That was just her talking nonsense.

"Oh, forget about that. When I was with Nathan, I deliberately steered the conversation towards you. He said you're a great girl." Penelope said, "I've already tested the waters for you."

Tina's eyes lit up.

"Go for it! I wish I could chase Nathan for you, get you two together, and then you can get married."

"We haven't even held hands yet, Penelope, and you're talking about marriage. Isn't that too fast?"

Penelope laughed.

She was indeed eager, maybe because it was her first time playing matchmaker. She had no experience and wanted to tie Nathan and Tina together with a rope, make them talk face-to-face, and start building a relationship.

Then, confirm their relationship today, announce it tomorrow, and get the marriage certificate the day after!

Penelope was thrilled just thinking about it!

But, alas, it was just a thought.

"When did you start liking Nathan?" Penelope asked. "Would you tell me?"

"Come on..."

"Are you shy? Can't even tell me?"

Tina covered her face, swaying slightly.

Penelope thought she was already quite shy, but Tina was even shyer.

Maybe Tina was still young and inexperienced.

Unlike her, who had been around Kelvin, a seasoned pro, and had developed some resistance.

Tina was still a young girl.

"Alright, alright, I won't ask," Penelope said, as she sat back at her desk. "Focus on work. With people coming and going in the office, if someone sees you daydreaming over Nathan's photo, who knows what rumors will spread."

Tina explained, "I wasn't daydreaming over his photo..."

"I caught you red-handed, and you still won't admit it?"

"I was going to the Smith Group's website to look up some information. When I opened it, I saw Mr. Smith's photo, and I just... lost my focus and forgot what I was doing."

The more Tina spoke, the redder her face became. She quickly moved the mouse, finishing her work.

Liking someone so much is impossible to hide.

Penelope understood; she had been there.
