Chapter 18

"This is pretty normal, Mr. Davis. You're still young and full of energy," William said. "I think you should head to the hospital for a check-up. Your Low Sperm Count issue should be much better by now."

Kelvin hung up abruptly, floored the gas pedal, and his sports car roared as it sped out of King Manor.

He went to a bar. In the VIP booth, Kelvin was silently downing one drink after another.

Timothy yawned, "You're a married man now, out drinking this late? Aren't you worried your wife will be pissed?"

Kelvin muttered, "Shut up."

Timothy continued, "Couples argue, but they can make up quickly and be just like before."

Kelvin replied coldly, "I don't have any feelings for her."

"Yeah, right," Timothy said, spreading his hands. "I can see it in your eyes. Kelvin, love and a cough can't be hidden."

Did Timothy just say he loved Penelope? Ridiculous!

"I think you're talking nonsense," Kelvin slammed his glass down. "The divorce papers are signed. Once the time comes, we'll finalize it."

Timothy reminded him, "You can still tear them up now."

Kelvin snorted, "Do you believe I'll tear you up?"

Timothy shrugged. "You keep drinking; I'm going to dance."

With that, he blended into the dance floor, dancing closely with a hot girl.

Kelvin irritably tugged at his tie. He'd rather stay here than go to Fiona.

He always felt she was different from the woman that night.

The next day, Penelope got a call from the hospital.

"This is LA Hospital," the caller said, "Your test results are in. Please come and pick them up."

Penelope replied, "Okay."

At the nurse's station, Penelope gave her name and got the test results.

She opened it right there and was completely stunned by the words on the report!

She read it over and over, still not believing her eyes.

It said she was four weeks pregnant.

She was actually pregnant!

She had only been with that stranger that one night, so the child was his!

But she didn't even know who the man was!

What should she do?

Penelope was in a panic. If Kelvin found out, she couldn't imagine how furious he would be!

Should she get an abortion?

Abortion was harmful to her body, cost money, and required bed rest.

Penelope didn't have those conditions right now.

Besides, she couldn't bear to do it. This was a living being, a person connected to her by blood.

Should she keep it?

She could barely take care of herself, how could she raise a child?

"Baby, you came at the worst possible time," Penelope murmured with a worried look, gently touching her belly, "What should I do?"

Penelope was in a daze, her mind a mess, bumping into several people as she walked.

"Sorry, sorry," she apologized numbly, head down.

Not far away, Fiona saw her back. "Isn't that Penelope?"

Fiona felt something was off and went to the nurse's station. "That woman named Penelope, is she sick?"

"Sorry, we can't disclose patient information," the nurse replied.

Fiona smiled, "I'm just worried about her health. Can you help me out?"

She discreetly slipped some money.

The nurse whispered, "She's four weeks pregnant."

Fiona's face changed dramatically.

Penelope was carrying Kelvin's child!

Penelope had just left the hospital when she got a call from Kelvin. "Where did you go? Get back here!" he demanded.

Penelope responded, "Okay."

Kelvin had been drinking all night. When he got home, he threw a huge fit.

Thinking that he had gone drinking because of Penelope made him even more upset.

So what if he had sex with her or not? He didn't care!

He always did things based on his mood!

Penelope walked into the living room and smelled a strong scent of alcohol. "So, you went drinking last night?"

Kelvin beckoned with his finger. "Come here."

She obediently walked over, and as soon as she got close, he pulled her into his arms. "Yes, I got drunk, and I'm still not sober!"

Penelope offered, "Then I'll make you some honey lemon water."

Kelvin pressed her down. "Why should I drink because of you, and suppress my manly nature for you? Do you deserve it? Penelope, I'm going to have sex with you right now to avoid any more trouble!"

His strength was astonishing, and Penelope struggled hard.

She was pregnant now, the fetus was unstable, she couldn't let Kelvin touch her!

Penelope was shocked. "Kelvin, what are you doing?"

Kelvin spoke, "Be good, and you'll suffer less!"

In the struggle, Penelope's pregnancy test slip fell out of her bag!

Penelope's pupils dilated.

She forgot to destroy it!

Penelope's heart almost jumped out of her throat. She desperately reached for the slip, crumpling it in her palm!

Kelvin's lips were on her shoulder, and he noticed her action, immediately becoming suspicious.

He lifted his head, staring at the crumpled paper in her hand.

"What is that in your hand?" Kelvin asked coldly, "Give it to me!"

Penelope refused, "No..."

Kelvin insisted, "Give it to me!"

Seeing she wouldn't, Kelvin forcefully pried her fingers open one by one.

"Do you want a broken bone?" he warned, "Let go!"

Penelope couldn't let go!

If Kelvin found out she was pregnant, both she and the child would be doomed!

This piece of paper decided her and the child's fate!

Seeing her fingers being pried open, Penelope suddenly propped herself up, hooked her arm around his neck, and pressed her body tightly against his!

Kelvin uttered, "Penelope, let go!"

She had no time to respond, her hand went around his back, and she stuffed the pregnancy test slip into her mouth!

Kelvin tried to stop her, but it was too late.

Penelope chewed a few times and swallowed it!

He immediately grabbed her by the throat. "You have so many tricks! Spit it out!"

"I can't," Penelope shook her head. "It's already in my stomach!"

Kelvin's eyes were bloodshot. "What was on that paper that you couldn't let me see?"
