Chapter 777 Someone Timothy Doesn't Want to See

Penelope nodded repeatedly, "Yes!"

Kelvin and Timothy had been friends for many years, and they knew each other inside out. There must be something fishy here!

"Because in that country, there's someone Timothy doesn't want to see," Kelvin answered. "If he goes, that person will get the news. Even if he doesn't want to meet, they will end up meeting."

"Is that person a man or a woman?"

Kelvin didn't say anything, just adjusted his cuff and walked out.

She hurried to catch up, "Answer me, is that person a man or a woman?"

"Kelvin, if you don't say anything, it must be a woman!"

"No man would make Timothy so scared! He'd rather choose Crystal City!"

"Could it be Timothy's ex?"

"Or his first love? Or a woman he deeply loved but never got?"

Penelope kept talking as she walked beside Kelvin.

Kelvin remained silent.

"Say something, you're killing me here." Penelope took his hand, interlocking their fingers. "Am I right? Monica can't be the third wheel, nor a substitute."

She continued, "Timothy seems like a playboy, but you said he doesn't have much of a romantic history. I believe you, so I've been encouraging Monica to be with him."

"If he has a lot of emotional entanglements, that's not okay! Monica seems carefree, but she keeps everything inside."

"I don't want someone as optimistic and cheerful as her to suffer in love."

Kelvin still didn't speak, just held her hand tighter and continued walking towards the operating room.

Penelope was anxious.

This was serious; she had to figure it out.

She had to safeguard Monica's love life!

Just as she was about to lose her temper, Kelvin spoke, "You should ask Timothy these questions yourself."

"How can I ask? It's not my place to ask him."

"Exactly, it's not your place. So why are you worrying about it?"

Penelope replied, "But I want to know! I can ask you! You'll tell me everything, right?"

"Wrong." Kelvin calmly said, "Anyway, it's enough that you know about this. When you get the chance, ask him directly, or let Monica ask herself."

"Monica..." Penelope sighed.

Timothy and Monica's relationship was already unclear and ambiguous.

From what she knew about Monica, Monica wouldn't ask such private questions.

Especially if it might involve another woman.

"You don't understand women," Penelope said. "What is Monica's status now? Girlfriend? No, it's just a bet. What right does she have to ask about Timothy's private matters?"

If she was not a girlfriend, she shouldn't do things only a girlfriend could do.

That was the boundary.

But Kelvin said, "Penelope, I think differently from you."

"Really? Tell me your thoughts."

"If they can't communicate about such a small issue, what will they do when they face bigger conflicts in the future?"

Penelope blinked, convinced by his words.

"If Monica really wants to know, she will ask. If Timothy really wants to be with her, he will be honest," Kelvin said. "In a truly loving relationship, some things don't need to be overthought."

Someone who loved a person naturally knew how to love them and give them a sense of security.

Penelope nodded, "You're right."

"As long as you understand that."

"But I still want to know about that person in Nightstar City."

Kelvin pursed his lips.

So everything he just said was in vain? A waste of breath?

"You make a lot of sense," Penelope said. "But if you're so knowledgeable, why is our relationship so rocky? You're all theory, no practice!"

"Wrong, Penelope."

"What's wrong?"

Kelvin said, "Precisely because our relationship has been so rocky, and we've been through so much to be together, I've practiced, gained experience, and developed a set of theories."

She couldn't out-argue Kelvin!

So annoying!

When Kelvin got serious, she couldn't win an argument with him no matter what she said!

His logic was too tight!

Seeing her dejected look, Kelvin ruffled her hair.

They arrived at the operating room door.

Nicole was sitting on a bench, already asleep from waiting.

Connor stood nearby, his brow furrowed tightly.

Seeing Penelope, his eyes lit up slightly, "Penelope, you're awake."

"Yes, Dad, sorry to worry you."

"As long as you're okay." Connor held her shoulders, carefully examining her, "Are you hurt?"

"No."

"Good, Sam is also out of danger."

Just then, the light in the operating room suddenly went out.

In her sleep, Nicole felt the sudden darkness.

She jolted awake, her eyes still bloodshot, "Sam, Sam!"

The operating room door slowly opened.

The doctor came out, removing his mask.

"He's safe," the doctor said. "You can rest assured, there's no life-threatening danger, but he needs to stay in the hospital to recover. Fortunately, the wound didn't damage any vital organs. However, you need to pay special attention to the patient's mental health. A child facing such a big danger might have psychological trauma."

Earlier, the head nurse had also advised this.

Everyone thought that facing kidnapping and jumping off a building, a child would surely be overwhelmed, either crying and fussing or becoming silent and withdrawn.

But Penelope had confidence in Sam.

He wasn't such a fragile child.

He was brave. Brave enough to use himself to ensure her safety!

The nurses pushed Sam's bed out.

He lay there quietly, eyes closed, his face and lips very pale, wearing an oxygen mask, receiving an IV. The bloodstains on his body had been cleaned, making him look less bloody and terrifying.

"Sam." Penelope stepped forward and called softly.

Sam's eyelids twitched.
