Chapter 762 Two Hundred Million Dollars
"Move aside," Penelope said expressionlessly, "I can't stand watching Sam get hurt anymore. If I have to kneel, then I'll kneel. I'm willing, I accept!"
Every cut Isabella made on Sam felt like it was cutting into her own heart.
Kelvin squatted in front of her. "This isn't something you need to do."
Penelope looked at him.
"I'll do it," Kelvin said. "You get up, Penelope."
Penelope didn't move.
Kelvin, always so high and mighty, had never bowed down to anyone.
She should handle this kind of thing herself.
She couldn't bear to see Kelvin in such a humble state.
He was the one who strategized and controlled the big picture. He should be figuring out a plan to save Sam, not doing something like kneeling.
"No, I'll do it," Penelope pushed his hand away. "Isabella asked me to kneel, not you."
Luckily, Isabella didn't ask Kelvin to do it.
Otherwise, Penelope would feel even worse.
Unexpectedly, just as this thought crossed her mind, she heard Isabella shout, "Enough, you two stop arguing. Both of you kneel until I'm satisfied!"
Penelope felt a wave of despair and closed her eyes.
Her worst fear had come true.
"No, Isabella, I'll do it," Nicole quickly said. "I'll kneel with Penelope!"
"Shut up!" Isabella couldn't be bothered with her. "If you keep making noise, get out. I don't even want to see you!"
Penelope knelt straight. "Isabella, humiliating me alone is enough. This is between you and me."
"Kelvin has always supported you. If you two kneel to my satisfaction, I won't cut up Sam's face. When the time comes, I'll just hold him and jump out the window."
Isabella smiled. "That way, at least the body will look a bit better, right? When you collect Sam's body, it won't be completely disfigured."
Kelvin didn't speak, just looked at Debra and Brent.
Seeing this, Debra quickly stepped forward. "Isabella."
"Stop," Isabella said. "Who told you to come over?"
"I'm your mom. You don't trust even me?"
"They called you over to persuade me," Isabella didn't even look at her. "You think I don't know?"
Debra forced a smile. "Silly girl, they're outsiders. We're mother and daughter. My heart is definitely with you. I'm the only one who truly wants the best for you because we're blood-related. We're family!"
"I'm not your daughter! I'm not the child of a mistress!"
"Alright, alright, you don't have to acknowledge me," Debra said. "But I want to tell you, since you're holding a hostage, you have leverage. You can negotiate with Mr. Davis. Why do you have to jump to your death?"
Isabella retorted, "Do you think I have a way out?"
"Yes!" Debra nodded. "Isabella, we'll leave together. I'll go wherever you go. Once we're safe, we'll release the child!"
Debra was already planning.
"First, you need a helicopter to land on the hospital rooftop. You can take Sam and board the helicopter, then land at the LA harbor."
"Then have Kelvin arrange a yacht. We'll board the yacht and go abroad!"
"Most importantly, we can extort a sum of money!" Debra got more excited as she spoke.
The thought of getting a sum of money and leaving LA to start a new life was thrilling!
At this point, she had no attachment to Brent!
Men were unreliable!
Only children could be relied on!
Before Isabella could speak, Kelvin spoke first. "Yes, I can give you a sum of money. How much do you want?"
Debra was overjoyed.
She could ask for much, after all, Kelvin had plenty of money!
"Isabella, say it," Debra said eagerly. "How much do you want? I think a hundred million dollars, is that enough?"
"Are you stupid..."
However, Isabella's words were once again cut off by Kelvin. "I'll give you two hundred million dollars."
"Did you hear that?" Debra said. "Two hundred million dollars! That's enough to spend for a lifetime!"
Over the years, Debra had estimated that Brent had spent about twenty million dollars on her. Including houses and cars.
Now, Kelvin was offering two hundred million dollars!
Isabella sneered.
A mistress was a mistress, short-sighted and brainless.
A helicopter? A yacht? Going abroad? Two hundred million dollars?
She'd probably be dead the moment she boarded the yacht and released Sam!
She might get the two hundred million dollars, but she wouldn't live to spend it!
Debra really had no vision or knowledge!
"Yes, two hundred million dollars is enough," Isabella nodded. "But unfortunately, I don't plan to spend it. I don't want to live anymore. Living has no meaning for me."
She sought more than just money!
She wanted status, power, love, and admiration!
But now, she couldn't get any of it, so she'd rather die!
"You fool," Debra slapped her thigh repeatedly. "Why can't you... listen to me."
Isabella, annoyed by her noise, said, "You shut up too!"
Debra glanced at Kelvin and had to stay silent.
She wanted those two hundred million dollars!
Kelvin was surprisingly generous!
"I can transfer the money right now," Kelvin said. "And do it on the spot."
He looked out the window. "The helicopter can be arranged now. The yacht too. Whatever you want, I can give it."
Not giving Debra and Isabella any chance, Kelvin called out loudly, "Ryan!"
"Yes, Mr. Davis." Ryan, who was waiting outside, immediately walked in.
"Transfer two hundred million dollars," Kelvin instructed, looking at Debra. "What's your account number?"
The surprise was so sudden that Debra was caught off guard. Was this real?
She beamed with joy. "Mr. Davis, this is the right way. You let us go, and we'll release the child. It's a win-win."
As she spoke, she quickly handed her bank card to Ryan.
Ryan noted the card number and left.
Everyone's attention was drawn to the two hundred million dollars.
Isabella's thoughts were interrupted, and she didn't mention kneeling again.
For Kelvin, spending some money to spare Penelope this humiliation was well worth it!
