Chapter 33

The diamond bracelet was pretty useless to him, but he still wanted to keep it.

Why? Because Penelope would eventually come crawling back, begging for it.

Kelvin loved seeing Penelope beg, looking all pitiful and humble. Too bad she only did it once, at their wedding.

Lily stormed out of the CEO's office, fuming.

As she walked, she muttered, "What's so great about you, Kelvin? You can't even have kids. When Anthony comes back, he'll replace you for sure. Then you'll be the one begging us!"

Penelope saw Lily coming from a distance and quickly turned away.

But Lily still spotted her. "Penelope, why are you avoiding me? I'm your mother-in-law! Who do you think you are?"

Penelope, not wanting to attract attention, called out, "Lily."

"Acting all high and mighty now?" Lily sneered, "As Kelvin's wife, you sure know how to put on airs."

Penelope replied, "If you don't have anything else, I need to get back to work."

"Hold on," Lily stopped her, eyeing her up and down. "Did Kelvin give you that diamond bracelet?"

Penelope was confused, "What are you talking about?"

"The one he bought at the charity auction. Is it on your wrist?" Lily said, lifting Penelope's sleeve.

Penelope's wrist was bare.

Lily was surprised. "No?"

"Lily, why do you care about that diamond bracelet?" Penelope asked, catching on.

That was Grace's item; it had nothing to do with Lily.

"I like it! I wanted it the moment I saw it!" Lily snapped. "The diamond is amazing. But whatever, talking to you is pointless."

Penelope smiled, "I know where the diamond bracelet is."

Lily asked, "Where?"

"Kelvin gave it to some female influencer," Penelope replied, "She's been flaunting it everywhere."

Lily got even angrier. "What? He gave it to his mistress?"

"Yeah, Kelvin's always generous with his mistresses," Penelope sighed dramatically, "Lily, you know how men are. It's normal for them to cheat, especially rich guys like Kelvin."

Lily was livid. "He gave it to another woman but not to me, his stepmother!"

Penelope suggested, "Lily, you're an elder. If you want the diamond bracelet, just go and take it back. That mistress wouldn't dare fight you."

Lily found this very reasonable. "Who is that woman? What's her name and where does she live?"

Penelope responded, "Her name is Fiona."

With the exact location, Lily's eyes lit up, and she walked away with a smile.

If she took the diamond bracelet, what could that woman do to her?

Would Kelvin really fall out with her over a mistress?

Penelope watched Lily's retreating figure and smiled slightly.

The diamond bracelet in Lily's hands was better than in Fiona's. Lily genuinely liked it and would take good care of it.

When the chance came, Penelope would find a way to get it back!

She silently cheered herself on and turned around.

Bam! She bumped right into someone.

The impact almost made her nose crooked.

"Can't you watch where you're going?" Kelvin's voice rang out.

She frowned and snapped, "You were the one standing silently behind me!"

Kelvin asked, "Are you blaming me?"

"Of course, it's... it's my fault," Penelope quickly changed her tune.

Because she saw at least ten people standing behind Kelvin.

Ryan, Kelvin's secretary, Timothy, and other company bigwigs.

"Mr. Davis, after you," Penelope stepped aside. "I was blocking the way, sorry."

Kelvin looked at her, unknown what she was looking at earlier, but her eyes were mischievous, lively, and bright, like a fairy.

It was the same liveliness he saw when he first met her.

Later, Kelvin personally snuffed out that liveliness.

"Join the meeting, Miss Cooper," Timothy nodded. "You can't miss the 'Adoring Cupid' meeting."

Penelope agreed, "Yes, Mr. Foster."

Timothy asked, "Have you prepared your design drafts?"

Penelope nodded. "I made a special PowerPoint presentation."

"Great, impress everyone!" Timothy smiled, "I've highly recommended you to this group!"

"I won't let you down," Penelope obediently replied and quietly walked to the back.

In the conference room, Kelvin sat at the head of the table, and Penelope stood beside him, starting to present her design drafts.

She introduced, "This is the first new collection for 'Adoring Cupid', targeting young urban women, so my designs are youthful, aiming to capture the market of women aged 20-30."

People always exuded confidence in their areas of expertise.

Throughout the meeting, Penelope demonstrated strong work capabilities.

"Good!" Timothy was the first to applaud.

Others followed suit, clapping in agreement.

Only Kelvin looked at her indifferently, his gaze deep and unreadable.

"Tomorrow, we can start turning the design drafts into actual jewelry," Timothy said, "Mr. Davis, do you have any other opinions?"

The general manager suddenly chimed in, "Mr. Davis, you just got married, and Miss Cooper is so talented. Why not have her design a wedding ring for Mrs. Davis?"

Kelvin's expression suddenly changed.

Penelope was also stunned.

Did she design her own wedding ring?

The general manager continued, "This way, we can use Mrs. Davis's wedding ring as a marketing point, promoting it everywhere and enhancing the brand awareness of 'Adoring Cupid'. It's a win-win!"

Timothy's mouth twitched. "Only you could come up with that idea."

The general manager smiled, "I know you agree with me, right, Mr. Foster?"

Kelvin's fingers lightly tapped the table, seemingly in thought.

After a while, he spoke, "Okay."

Penelope blurted out, "No way!"
