Kelvin also had confidence in Penelope; she had raised the two kids well, teaching them to support and be considerate of each other.

During the time Sam was hiding his identity, Lucy thought about him every day. Whatever she ate or did, she always had Sam in mind. She didn't forget about him just because she returned to The King Manor and started living a luxurious life.
She even tried to subtly hint at Kelvin, hoping he would notice something unusual.

"Grandpa," Kelvin said calmly, "You're here."
He acted as if nothing had happened, very composed.

But Liam had been standing there for several minutes, seeing Kelvin and Penelope not noticing him and showing no signs of stopping.
