Chapter 776 You Are a Married Man, Follow the Male Conduct Rules

Just let it go. The nurse's fingers would inevitably touch Kelvin's skin while applying the medicine!

"It might hurt a bit," the nurse said. "The medicine on the unhealed wound will sting. Mr. Davis, please bear with it."

Kelvin replied, "It's okay, go ahead."

"Alright."

The nurse tried to be as gentle as possible. "Is this pressure okay?"

Kelvin responded with a "Hmm."

Penelope stood nearby, taking deep breaths repeatedly to calm herself.

But in the end, she couldn't stand it anymore and snatched the medicine and cotton swab from the nurse's hand. "Let me do it!"

The nurse's hands froze in mid-air, staring at her in shock.

"I'll do it," Penelope softened her tone, forcing a smile. "Sorry, no need to trouble you. I've treated my husband's wounds before; I have experience."

"Oh, okay."

"You can leave now. We'll call you if we need anything."

The nurse nodded, picked up the tray, and walked out.

As she left, she couldn't help but look back longingly.

However, Penelope blocked the view completely, and the nurse only saw Penelope's back.

Once the nurse left, Penelope immediately said, "You enjoyed that, didn't you?"

"Hmm?" Kelvin's expression was calm and indifferent. "Penelope, I'm injured. Applying medicine hurts. What's there to enjoy?"

He pretended not to understand.

In reality, he had noticed Penelope's expression earlier.

It was rare to see her experience the jealousy he usually felt!

Opportunities like this didn't come often!

"Don't play dumb," Penelope said fiercely. "You know exactly what I'm talking about!"

"I don't know, Penelope."

Penelope dipped the cotton swab in the medicine. "The nurse is young, pretty, and gentle. You must have been happy, right?"

"I was too focused on the pain to be happy."

Penelope almost pressed the cotton swab hard on his wound. "This little injury is nothing to you! When I bit you before, it was much deeper, and you didn't even flinch."

"You know you bit me hard."

Penelope snorted. "That was a long time ago."

Though she spoke harshly, her hands were extremely gentle, carefully applying the medicine.

She couldn't help but mutter, "Why do you keep your body in such good shape? Eight-pack abs, biceps, pecs—you have it all. You're a CEO, not a male model."

Kelvin asked, "Do you like it?"

"I do." Penelope answered instinctively, then felt embarrassed and bit her lower lip.

But the words were already out, and she couldn't take them back.

Kelvin heard it, so be it.

After all, it was just the two of them here.

"As long as you like it," Kelvin chuckled. "That's enough."

Penelope didn't dare look at him. "In the future, when there are other women around, please don't take off your clothes so casually, okay? You're a married man. Follow some male conduct rules, will you?"

"Male conduct rules?"

"Yes!"

"Penelope, are you lecturing me now?"

Her hand paused, and she suddenly felt guilty. "I'm just saying."

"Have you forgotten what you did?" Kelvin asked again. "Faking your death, assuming a false identity, living under Molly's name, hiding Sam's..."

"Medicine's done," Penelope deliberately interrupted him loudly. "Be careful not to get it wet!"

She threw away the cotton swab and gently blew on his wound.

A cool breeze.

"All done," Penelope said. "You can put your shirt back on. I'll reapply the medicine tonight when we get home."

She handed him his shirt.

Kelvin sat up straight, slowly buttoning his shirt.

But his eyes never left Penelope.

She had given him such a big leverage; how should he use it?

He needed to think carefully.

Penelope didn't dare meet his gaze, her eyes darting around.

"Penelope," Kelvin said calmly, "the issue with Sam isn't resolved yet."

Her face fell. What was coming couldn't be avoided!

"How about," Penelope swallowed, "you send me to Crystal City to keep Timothy and Monica company?"

"What good would it do me if you went to Crystal City?"

How could he bear to?

He wished he could see her every moment of every day!

Sending Penelope to Crystal City would only torture Kelvin!

He would never do something so foolish!

"Then what do you want?" Penelope pouted. "Just be straightforward! Give me a quick end!"

"No quick end, only slow and steady."

Penelope's face fell even more.

She really wanted to go to Crystal City.

If she went and then came back, by then, Kelvin's anger should have subsided.

She could leave the two kids with him, let him experience what she had gone through for four years!

And after not seeing her for a long time, Kelvin would surely miss her.

That way, he wouldn't be mad at her anymore.

Unfortunately, the ideal was beautiful, but reality was cruel.

Forget it, accept her fate.

"Don't even think about it. You'll never go to Crystal City in this lifetime." Kelvin stood up, placing his large hand on her head. "You can only stay by my side."

She struggled desperately. "Then, how about Nightstar City?"

Kelvin raised an eyebrow. "Nightstar City?"

"Yeah," Penelope nodded. "Didn't you just give Timothy two options? Go to Crystal City or Nightstar City, and he chose Crystal City?"

"Yes."

Penelope was curious and puzzled. "Nightstar City is clearly better than Crystal City. Why did Timothy's face turn worse when he heard Nightstar City compared to Crystal City?"

There must be a story here.

Any normal person would choose Nightstar City.

But Timothy gave it up without hesitation, as if delaying for a second would make Kelvin send him to Nightstar City!

Kelvin's lips curled into a mysterious smile. "Do you want to know?"
