Chapter 30
But if she hadn't gone, there wouldn't have been any clues at all.
Meanwhile, Kelvin was bugging her to come home.
After mulling it over, Penelope decided to head straight to the hotel to check things out first!
Penelope stood at the door of room 6888 and rang the doorbell a bunch of times, but no one answered.
She tried the door handle and found it wasn't locked!
"Fiona?" Penelope slowly walked in. "I know it's you. Quit messing around and come out! I know the message was sent by you. Only you and Michael know about that incident!"
The room was dead quiet.
Could it be that no one was here?
Was Fiona just messing with her?
Just as Penelope was feeling puzzled, she heard a noise from the bedroom.
Someone was there!
She walked in and immediately broke into a cold sweat.
It was Nathan!
How could it be him?
Nathan was lying on the bed, his shirt open, eyes closed, motionless, like he was asleep.
Damn!
She had walked right into a trap!
Penelope realized something was off and quickly turned to run to the door.
But the door wouldn't budge!
It had been locked from the outside!
"Fiona! Open the door!" Penelope pounded on the door with all her might. "What do you want?"
No matter how much she shouted, there was no response.
It seemed she was stuck here for the night!
No, wait, stay calm, she still had her phone!
Penelope quickly took out her phone, but before she could unlock it, she suddenly felt dizzy.
Her vision started to blur and double.
What was happening?
Her body swayed, and she eventually blacked out.
Meanwhile, at the King Manor, Kelvin got out of the car and walked toward the villa, his phone ringing non-stop.
He glanced at his phone; they were messages from Fiona.
Fiona: [Mr. Davis, why did you leave? I'm so bored here by myself.]
Fiona: [But I happened to run into an old friend and chatted in her room for a bit. Look.]
Fiona had also sent a selfie with someone.
Kelvin had no interest and glanced at it dismissively before turning off his phone.
After taking a few steps, he suddenly stopped.
Wait, there was something in the background of that photo that caught his eye.
Kelvin took out his phone again, zoomed in on the photo, and examined it carefully.
In the upper right corner of the photo, someone was about to enter a hotel room.
That person was clearly Penelope!
He had personally chosen her dress; he wouldn't have mistaken it!
In the middle of the night, what was Penelope doing at a hotel? Didn't he tell her to go home?
"Damn!" Kelvin immediately turned on his heel and quickly jumped back into the car.
He thought, 'Penelope, you better not have done anything to cheat on me!'
This trip that usually took half an hour, but Kelvin completed it in just ten minutes.
He exuded a murderous aura, his face cold, and no one dared to approach him!
Arriving at the door of room 6888, Kelvin kicked it open and headed straight for the bedroom.
The loud noise of the door being kicked in woke the two people lying on the bed.
Penelope stared at the ceiling, her head still dizzy, her body weak.
Beside her, Nathan was rubbing his temples. "Where am I?"
The two of them turned their heads and looked at each other.
They both saw confusion in each other's eyes.
The next second, Penelope's face turned pale. "I'm done."
Just as she finished speaking and before she could get out of bed, Kelvin's figure appeared.
His sharp gaze was like a knife. "Penelope!"
She actually dared to cheat on him!
She must be tired of living!
On the big bed, Nathan and Penelope lay side by side, clothes scattered on the floor.
Anyone could tell what was going on!
"No, it's not what it looks like," Penelope shook her head repeatedly. "Kelvin, it's not what you think!"
Kelvin retorted, "I saw it with my own eyes!"
Penelope explained, "It's not what it looks like!"
But those words sounded so weak and powerless.
She and Nathan were lying on the hotel bed, disheveled; it was impossible to explain.
Kelvin strode over, grabbed her wrist, and yanked her off the bed!
Penelope fell to the ground and heard a crack from her wrist.
Her bone was dislocated.
The pain made her break out in a cold sweat. "Kelvin, I really didn't cheat on you."
"Shut up!" Kelvin took off his suit jacket and roughly draped it over Penelope.
Only he could see her in such a disheveled state!
Now, Nathan had slept with her!
Damn it! They all deserved to die!
"Great. You even ended up in bed with your ex-fiancé," Kelvin's veins bulged on his forehead. "Penelope, I really misjudged you!"
Nathan was also regaining consciousness and quickly explained, "Mr. Davis, nothing happened between Penelope and me. Don't misunderstand!"
Kelvin sneered, "You two were lying in the same bed, and you still say I misunderstood?"
"I don't know what's going on," Nathan recalled. "I was clearly at the auction; how did I end up in a hotel room?"
His memory was blank.
Trying hard to remember, Nathan could only recall fragments. "A waiter gave me a drink, I drank it, and then I blacked out. When I woke up, I was here."
Kelvin snorted coldly at Penelope, "He got drunk, and you came to take care of him?"
Penelope explained, "No, I didn't know Nathan was in the room!"
Kelvin pressed, "Then why did you come?"
"I," Penelope was momentarily speechless, stunned.
She wanted to find out who the father of her child was, which was why she had been tricked into coming here.
But she couldn't let Kelvin know that!
"Cat got your tongue?" Kelvin gripped her chin tightly. "Answer me!"
Penelope looked at him, her eyes slightly red. "In any case, nothing happened between Nathan and me. This is all a setup! Kelvin, if you don't believe me, you can go to the hospital right now and check if I've had sex with a man tonight!"
Nathan immediately added, "I can also cooperate with the examination."
"Yes," Penelope's eyes were firm. "A clear conscience fears no accusation!"
Kelvin's gaze swept back and forth between the two of them.
Even if Penelope had the guts, she wouldn't have dared cheat on him, but this scene had indeed happened.
"Fine, we'll check," Kelvin snorted coldly, "Penelope, if you really cheated on me, you'll feel so sorry for you mom!"
He grabbed Penelope's shoulder and lifted her up. "Let's go!"
