Chapter 1063 Men and Women, Fighting Means Intimacy, Scolding Means Love

As Sam started to walk away, Penelope quickly pulled him back. "Hey, it's almost time to clock out. You're not going anywhere. Stick around and keep me company. Your dad will come find us after work."

"What? Keep you company?"

"Yeah, what's wrong with that? You don't wanna hang out with me?"

Sam pouted. "I see you every day. I wanna see someone else for a change."

Penelope couldn't help but laugh. "Oh yeah? Who do you wanna see?"

Sam thought quickly and then looked up, spotting his godmother, Monica.

"Monica!" he called out sweetly. "Monica, over here!"

"Sam!" Monica's eyes lit up with joy as she saw him.

Sam ran over and hugged her tightly.

"Come here, let me give you a hug," Monica said, her face full of affection. "I haven't seen you in a while. You look taller and more handsome... You're looking more and more like your dad. When I first saw you, I didn't think you looked that much like him."

Now, Sam and his father, Kelvin, looked like they were cut from the same mold.

"When did you get here? Why didn't you tell me?" Monica asked. "I didn't prepare anything for you. Are you hungry or thirsty? What do you want to eat or need? Just tell me!"

Sam replied, "I wanna see my godfather, Timothy!"

Monica was momentarily stunned, then her smile grew even wider.

Just as Timothy mentioned, he appeared, walking out of his office.

"Timothy!" Sam said. "I was just looking for you!"

"Well, if it isn't Sam. What brings you to the office today?"

"I'm here to keep my mom company while she works."

Timothy chuckled. "Such a thoughtful kid."

Penelope didn't even want to speak anymore. Sam's charm and sweet talk made him beloved by everyone, regardless of age or gender.

Sam held Monica's hand with one hand and Timothy's with the other, standing between them.

"Mom, mom, quick, take a picture of us."

"Alright."

After the photo was taken, Sam admired it with satisfaction. "Not bad... Timothy, Monica, when are you getting married? When can I be the ring bearer? Are you planning to have kids? Will I get to be a big brother again?"

Monica replied, "It's still early. We're not there yet."

Timothy said, "Soon, soon. We'll definitely invite you, my little ring bearer."

"Even before you started dating, I said Timothy and Monica were a perfect match. Look, now you really are a couple!"

Sam's quick wit and clear thinking showed no signs of illness. He was here at Davis Group just to stir things up!

Penelope had given up. She let him be. As long as he didn't cause trouble, she was grateful.

Monica felt a bit embarrassed. "I'm your godmother because I'm your mom's best friend. He's your godfather because he's your dad's best friend. It's not because I'm your godmother that he automatically becomes your godfather..."

All the talk about godparents was confusing Sam.

"Anyway, you two are together now, and that's all that matters," Sam said, spreading his hands. "It means true lovers will eventually be united!"

Timothy laughed heartily. "You're right. I always knew your godmother, Monica, would be mine someday."

Monica couldn't help but pinch him.

Timothy pretended to yelp, "Ouch, ouch, ouch."

Seeing this, Sam quickly stepped in. "Monica, what are you doing? No domestic violence!"

Monica fell silent.

Timothy laughed even harder. "Sam really knows how to care for people. But you're still young. You don't understand. When a man and a woman tease each other, it's a sign of affection. Come here, let me give you a hug."

"No, no, I'm sick. You should stay away from me so you don't catch it."

Monica looked worried. "You're sick?"

"It's nothing. I took medicine and feel much better. I'll be back to my energetic self and ready for school tomorrow!"

Timothy patted his head. "You're adorable."

He couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to have a child with Monica. Would it be a boy or a girl? Would the child look like her or him?

"Of course I'm adorable. But your future child with Monica will be adorable too, since you both are good-looking!" Sam said. "But... you should be prepared."

Timothy and Monica spoke in unison, "Prepared for what?"

"Your child might not be as handsome as I am. Lower your expectations a bit."

Penelope was laughing so hard she could barely stand.

She decided to just enjoy the lively scene.

"The children speak freely," Penelope said. "You guys keep teasing him, and he always speaks his mind. Just be understanding."

Monica muttered, "Maybe having a daughter would be better... like Lucy, gentle and princess-like."

Sam's sharp ears caught that. "Monica, you're sexist! You prefer girls over boys!"

"I... I don't!"

"You do! I heard you!"

Monica quickly covered her mouth.

Why were Sam's ears so sharp!

"Timothy," Sam looked seriously at Timothy, "You need to work harder and marry Monica soon. Only after you're married can you have a baby. You need to have a son, a smart, handsome, and talented son like me! Got it?"

"Got it!"

As they laughed and chatted, the workday ended.

Kelvin arrived.

He looked Sam over and was very pleased. "Looking good."

"Yeah, he's been all over the company, visiting every department."

"Let him get familiar with it. It's good for him. After all, this company will be his someday," Kelvin said.

Penelope wanted to argue, but realized... it made sense.

"Let's go home," Kelvin said, waving.

Sam ran over, wanting a hug but feeling shy to ask.

Kelvin bent down and picked him up with one hand.

With his other hand, Kelvin took Penelope's hand.

"Let's go," Penelope waved to Monica. "Bye."

"Bye."

Watching the family walk away, Monica's face was full of smiles.

The scene looked so beautiful.

"Still watching?" Timothy wrapped his arm around her waist. "We can have that too. We're just missing a child."

Monica leaned against his chest. "Why do you always think about marrying me?"

"Of course. It's the most important thing in my life right now."

"No way, take it slow," Monica said. "I don't accept rushing into marriage."

In matters of love, she was still quite conservative.
