Chapter 1020 Wholehearted Loyalty to Her
Kelvin glanced at his watch and said, "Penelope's gonna be here soon. Don't say anything stupid in front of her. She's sharp and tends to overthink stuff. Got it?"
Timothy sighed, "I've seen guys spoil their wives, but never like you."
"If you were married to Monica, would you do the same?"
Timothy replied, "Absolutely."
"Then why are you talking?"
Timothy was left speechless, caught in Kelvin's logic.
Soft footsteps approached from outside the door. It was unmistakably Penelope.
Kelvin nudged Timothy and gave him a look.
"Alright, alright, I get it," Timothy nodded quickly. "Don't worry, I'll watch what I say."
Kelvin responded quietly, "You better."
Just then, Penelope walked in.
She smiled, "Quite a crowd here. Mr. Foster... and Dwight."
"Mrs. Davis," Dwight greeted her. "I drafted all the contract terms, so I need to coordinate with Mr. Davis. Everything's good on his end. Now it's your turn to review the contract."
Penelope took the contract, feeling its weight and thickness.
This contract... it had a lot of content.
She skimmed through it, finding many technical terms and jargon that were difficult to understand.
Penelope flipped through a few more pages, feeling overwhelmed.
She looked at Kelvin, "I just need to sign, right?"
"Yes."
"Alright." Penelope nodded, "Give me a pen."
Dwight hesitated, not handing over the pen immediately.
Timothy took a pen from his suit pocket and handed it to Penelope.
Dwight snapped out of it, "Sorry, Mrs. Davis."
"No worries, I am well aware of how arduous drafting the contract must have been for you. Thank you."
Penelope signed her name swiftly.
Dwight couldn't help but marvel... In all his years, he'd seen siblings who kept strict accounts, couples who prioritized their own interests, but never a dynamic like Kelvin and Penelope's.
Mrs. Davis would give everything if asked.
And Penelope, without even reading the contract, signed it because Kelvin said it was okay.
She wasn't worried about hidden traps in the contract!
If Penelope wanted to ruin Kelvin, it would be extremely easy.
And if Kelvin wanted to deceive Penelope, it would be just as simple.
They gave each other complete trust!
Between them, there was something more important than money and interests—love!
"Mrs. Davis," Dwight pointed out, "You need to leave a fingerprint here."
"Okay."
Kelvin watched from the side, his expression calm but with a hidden tenderness.
He had given her everything... all of it, without reservation.
In the future, even without him, she would be well-off, never lacking.
Loving someone meant giving them a lot of money!
"Mrs. Davis, I need to cozy up to you now," Timothy joked. "You're now a billionaire, one of the richest women in the country... Is there anything you need me to do for you?"
Penelope responded seriously, "Yes."
"Just say the word!"
"Treat Monica well," Penelope said. "If you ever make her unhappy, watch out... I'll fire you!"
Timothy clutched his chest, pretending to be scared, "Please, Mrs. Davis, have mercy. I'll serve you loyally, through thick and thin, until my dying breath..."
"Aren't you Kelvin's employee?"
"He's just a figurehead now, without shares or real power," Timothy grinned. "You're the real boss!"
Penelope nodded solemnly, "Work hard, and I won't treat you poorly. As long as I am stationed at my post, you shall invariably reap considerable benefits."
Kelvin chimed in, "Hear that, Timothy? From now on, you must be fully loyal to her."
Timothy nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes, my career... the first half serving Kelvin, the second half serving Penelope. You two just squeeze every bit of value out of me."
"What? You have complaints?"
"Maybe just a little..."
Penelope laughed, "But Monica is my friend. Without my help, you wouldn't have won her over so smoothly."
Monica was Timothy's weak spot.
One mention and he was done.
"Yes, I remember that favor," Timothy assured. "Don't worry, esteemed Mrs. Davis, I'll serve you wholeheartedly!"
Penelope laughed heartily at his antics.
Kelvin glanced at him, "He's soaking in happiness now, always energetic and cheeky."
"As if you're not soaking in happiness too. We're in the same boat."
Penelope studied Timothy, "Indeed, a man in love... is different. How are things with Monica?"
"Great."
"That's good." Penelope nodded in satisfaction. "I used to worry about you two always bickering and arguing, that you'd have constant conflicts even after getting together."
"Those arguments were to get her attention," Timothy rubbed his nose. "Now that she's mine, what is there to argue about?"
She's his woman now, so he can afford to let things slide.
A man could take a little loss. Be generous!
Dwight saw them chatting and felt it was best to leave.
"Mr. Davis, Mrs. Davis," Dwight said, "The contract is officially signed. You keep a copy, the legal department keeps a copy, and the board gets a copy... Please check."
Kelvin nodded slightly, "It's fine."
"Then I'll take my leave, not to disturb you."
Once Dwight left, Timothy rubbed his chin, "With outsiders gone, I can speak freely... Penelope, I want to ask you something."
"What?"
"When do you think Monica will agree to my proposal?"
Penelope was surprised, "Proposal? So soon?"
Timothy's confession was still fresh in her mind; it felt like it had happened yesterday, and now he was thinking about proposing?
"Is it soon?" Timothy asked, "You sound just like Monica."
"Of course it's soon. Normally, from dating to marriage, a couple needs at least six months. How long has it been for you? Two weeks?"
