Chapter 909 He Arranged Everything
Kelvin didn't even hesitate before he shot back, "No way."
His expression and tone made Penelope chuckle.
She decided to tease him, "This dinner's different. I'll be there too, and it's just the three of us. Relax, nothing's gonna happen, and no one's taking any intimate photos."
Kelvin remained firm, "No way."
"Seriously? Are you that worried about appearances? Fine, I'll go alone then."
Kelvin's eyes darkened.
After a moment, he asked, "Penelope, are you sure it's just Thessaly tonight?"
"I'm sure. If there were anyone else, she would've told me," Penelope replied. "Besides, she's thanking us. Why would she bring anyone else?"
Kelvin's tightly furrowed brows relaxed a bit.
If it were just her and Thessaly, this dinner shouldn't be a problem.
However, he still felt uneasy.
He reminded her, "Come home early, don't drink, and respond to my messages. Don't get so caught up in chatting that you forget to check your phone."
"You sound like me when I'm reminding Sam and Lucy."
"In my heart, you're not much different from them."
Penelope was annoyed, "I'm an adult, you know!"
"When have you ever listened to my reminders?" Kelvin retorted. "I told you not to drink, and you still did. Remember?"
Penelope pouted, "I asked you to come with me, and you refused."
"No way."
Kelvin didn't want to see Thessaly.
Because of Thessaly, he almost fell into a trap, almost had a huge fight with Penelope, and nearly ruined their relationship.
Although it wasn't Thessaly's fault.
But Kelvin would avoid her if he could.
If he and Thessaly got caught up in another scandal, there would be no way to explain it!
"Alright, I'll come home early and keep you updated," Penelope agreed. "You, on the other hand, take good care of the kids at home and wait for me to come back."
Kelvin gave her a cool glance and left the jewelry department.
Penelope made a funny face at his back.
This man, so decisive and stern in front of others, was so childish and stubborn in front of her!
Penelope sat back down at her computer and glanced at her colleagues.
After Kelvin left, they visibly relaxed, no longer as tense as before.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, she ordered coffee and snacks for everyone.
At seven in the evening.
In the farthest corner of the restaurant by the window, Thessaly sat there.
She wore a hat, the brim pulled low.
Hearing footsteps, she looked up and smiled slightly, "Penelope, you're here."
"Yeah, traffic was a bit heavy. Sorry about that."
"No problem."
Penelope took a seat and looked at Thessaly, "You're not wearing makeup again?"
"That's right."
"Your skin is amazing, even without makeup," Penelope said. "How can someone have such perfect features and contours?"
Thessaly blushed a little at the compliment.
She replied, "Mr. Davis is the one with the most striking features I've ever seen. You're so lucky to have him. So many people are envious."
"He is indeed flawless. But, you get used to it after a while. It's just him."
Thessaly laughed, "You're so cute."
Before meeting Penelope, Thessaly had assumed someone of her status would be aloof and unapproachable, surrounded by sycophants. But Penelope was so down-to-earth.
"Just being honest," Penelope said, taking a sip of water. "Before I came today, I checked with the advertising department. We can start the endorsement process next month."
When chatting casually, Penelope was relaxed.
But when it came to work, she was decisive, responsible, and serious.
They discussed the specifics of the endorsement while eating.
Neither of them noticed the car parked across the street, which had been there for a long time without moving.
Inside the car was Brandon.
He glanced at his watch. It was almost time.
He had everything planned and ready to go!
Brandon's lips curled into a smile, the dim streetlight casting an eerie glow on his face.
He opened the car door and stepped out, his expression and movements exuding confidence.
And Penelope and Thessaly had no idea what was about to happen!
Penelope was still enthusiastically discussing the "Adoring Cupid" endorsement.
"I hope you'll wear this set of jewelry at the official launch," she said, showing the design. "It's still being made, so we only have the renderings. This is the highlight of the 'Adoring Cupid' winter collection, and it's the most expensive set."
"How much is it worth?"
"Ten million dollars. It's the most high-end piece in the 'Adoring Cupid' series, with great collectible value. Most importantly, it suits your temperament perfectly. Thessaly, as our global ambassador, you should wear the best and most expensive series."
Thessaly responded, "For me, endorsing Adoring Cupid is more than just a job. It's my responsibility. I'll give it my all."
Even after the contract ended, and she was no longer the Adoring Cupid ambassador, she would still support and promote Adoring Cupid whenever and wherever she could!
That was what she should do for "Adoring Cupid," for Kelvin and Penelope. For a lifetime!
"You are the perfect person for 'Adoring Cupid'," Penelope smiled. "When we were choosing an ambassador, you were the first person that came to my mind."
Thessaly couldn't help but ask, "I've always wondered, did you and Mr. Davis help me get out of my contract with the agency just because you felt a connection and wanted to help me?"
"Yes," Penelope nodded. "I wanted to be your friend."
They shared a smile.
Friendship between girls could be that simple.
"Penelope?" A familiar male voice suddenly sounded from the side, "You're here too, what a coincidence."
Penelope looked up, "Brandon?"
She was genuinely surprised to see him there.
Brandon walked over and then noticed Thessaly sitting across from Penelope, even more surprised, "Thessaly? You're here too?"
"Yes, Brandon," Thessaly nodded, greeting him. "Penelope and I planned to have dinner here tonight."
Penelope couldn't help but smile.
