Chapter 761 How Did I End Up Kneeling Before You and Kelvin
Once Isabella stood by the window, the sniper across the street could choose the most opportune moment to shoot her.
The bodyguards lurking upstairs and downstairs could also climb up at any time and snatch Sam from Isabella's hands.
Maybe he needed to force Isabella to make a move, rather than staying in the corner!
Kelvin knew this was very dangerous and highly risky; any slight mishap could mean losing Sam.
But they had to take the risk and try.
This was the only way!
If Isabella really intended to kill Sam directly with a knife, there would be no other way except to rush in and confront her.
This would also put Sam in great danger, very likely leading to his death by Isabella's hand.
Every option carried risks.
Kelvin's eyes darkened. The only thing he was grateful for was that the hostage wasn't Penelope.
Otherwise, what would he do?
Although Sam was also very important, honestly, he wasn't as important as Penelope in Kelvin's heart.
It wasn't that Kelvin was cold-blooded; it was just that Penelope was the most important person to him, always coming first.
Even if it were Lucy in danger at this moment, Kelvin wouldn't be completely panicked.
His lover came first.
Children came second.
Kelvin was about to re-enter the hospital room when hurried footsteps echoed from the end of the hallway.
Brent hurried over, still wearing a hospital gown with an IV needle in his hand, almost tripping with every step.
"Be careful," Debra supported him, "Slow down, don't fall, Brent."
Debra's eyes were red, clearly having just cried.
Following behind them was Brandon.
Brandon was dressed in a sharp suit and tie, looking like he had just come from the office.
Who notified Brandon?
"Mr. Davis!" Brent called out as soon as he saw him, "Where's Isabella? How could she do something so foolish?"
Debra didn't dare to speak.
When she found out that Isabella had taken a hostage, she was completely stunned.
Her daughter had far more courage and ruthlessness than she did, something she could never compare to!
"She's in the hospital room," Kelvin replied, "You and Debra should try to persuade her, or at least buy some time."
Brent nodded and was about to go in.
"Wait," Debra asked, "If we persuade her, will you let Isabella go? Or will you shoot her as soon as she loses the hostage?"
When she arrived, the hospital was eerily quiet, with only uniformed police officers moving around.
She quickly realized that things were very bad.
The situation was worse than she had imagined!
"I can let her go," Kelvin said, "as long as she doesn't harm Sam."
Debra didn't believe him. "Really?"
"Really. If she releases him, she still has a chance. If she plans to die with Sam, then there's only one outcome."
This time, Isabella's actions could be seen as crazy, but also as an opportunity!
Debra calculated in her mind that maybe she could use this chance to make demands, get a large sum of money, and escape with Isabella, leaving LA to start a new life!
"Okay," Debra nodded, "I'll go in and try to persuade her!"
Brent also stumbled in after her.
Brandon stood at the hospital room door, looking at the hand blocking his way.
"Mr. Davis," he said, "Can't I go in?"
"Why are you here? Who notified you?"
"No one notified me. I just came to visit Uncle Brent," Brandon replied, "I didn't expect to encounter this."
Kelvin sneered, "I know last time, when Isabella repented, you pleaded for her, but Penelope refused to let her go. You were resentful and angry. You thought Penelope didn't give you respect and betrayed you. Now I want to ask you, do you still think Penelope was wrong?"
Brandon clenched his fist and then released it.
Kelvin added, "You've always trusted Isabella too much, and you're still deceived by her, unwilling to believe her true nature."
"I never expected her to be this kind of person," Brandon replied, "Otherwise, I would never have pleaded for her! She doesn't deserve it!"
Kelvin mocked, "Weren't you the one who insisted on being her guarantor?"
Brandon remained silent.
He had misjudged her.
Fortunately, Penelope didn't agree to forgive her.
Otherwise, the consequences might have been even worse than today!
"I can understand Brent and Debra wanting to save Isabella, but you..." Kelvin snorted, "Your softness won't harm you, but it will harm Penelope!"
Brandon took a deep breath, "What's the situation inside now? Sam..."
"Isabella said she wants to jump out of the window with him."
Brandon's heart sank, and he looked up at Kelvin. "Do you know Sam's true identity?"
He was Kelvin's son, Lucy's brother.
Brandon had already anticipated how much pain and torment Penelope would be going through at this moment.
But Kelvin seemed much calmer than expected.
"What difference does it make whether I know or not?" Kelvin retorted, "Sam exchanged himself for Penelope's safety, willingly becoming Isabella's hostage. I will do everything I can to save him."
Brandon wanted to say something more, but Penelope's scream came from inside.
Kelvin's face changed, and he quickly ran inside. "Penelope!"
He saw Penelope kneeling on the ground, constantly begging, "No, no."
There were already three wounds on Sam's neck!
Blood stained the knife and his clothes!
"Isabella, stop, stop," Penelope pleaded, "Don't hurt him anymore, I beg you."
Nicole was also kneeling beside her, "Isabella, he's just a child, don't do it. If you want to kill someone, kill me first!"
Isabella's face was full of pride.
Holding Sam hostage could make so many people suffer!
"Fine, I can stop," she said, "Penelope, do you remember how I knelt and kowtowed in front of you and Kelvin?"
Penelope gritted her teeth, "I remember."
"Good," Isabella said, "Then you kowtow properly, harder and louder than I did. You can't stop until I say so!"
"Okay." Penelope agreed without any hesitation.
Her forehead hit the ground heavily, making a loud sound.
Soon, her forehead was swollen and red.
"Penelope!" Kelvin quickly stepped forward and stopped her.
How could he bear to see the woman he loved suffer like this?
