Chapter 959 Don't You Think I'm Unclean Anymore?

She stayed quiet, looking a little lost.

Out of nowhere, Brandon got up, walked over, and gently patted her shoulder. His hand lingered there, holding it with just the right amount of pressure.

The warmth from Brandon's hand seeped through her clothes, warming her skin.

Thessaly didn't move an inch.

But in her mind, she replayed the scene of their first meeting.

He had swooped in to save her from a bunch of rowdy skateboarders.

Back then, Brandon seemed like a knight in shining armor, coming down from the heavens. That moment stuck with Thessaly for a long time—it was the start of her feelings for him.

Now... all she felt was a chill running down her spine.

That whole rescue might've been a setup by Brandon!

"Thessaly, we're friends. If you ever need anything, just holler," Brandon said. "Though, with the Davis Group backing you and Kelvin pulling strings, you might not need my help."

Thessaly replied, "How could it not be? Your offer means a lot to me."

She glanced up at Brandon, then dropped her gaze, looking every bit like a woman head over heels but too shy to show it.

She was an actress.

Thessaly knew exactly how to play any role or scene.

Right now, her acting chops were her lifeline!

She had to get out of this office safely!

Brandon watched Thessaly, his doubts slowly fading, but he couldn't shake them completely.

He needed to keep an eye on her, figure things out.

After a pause, he said, "Thessaly, honestly, I don't see you any differently because of what happened with Paul. I don't think less of you or look down on you. You're still the talented actress I admire."

Thessaly's body trembled slightly.

Then she asked, "Really? You don't think... I'm damaged goods?"

"No," Brandon replied quickly. "Never."

Thessaly lowered her head even more. "But Paul and I..."

"Let's just pretend it never happened. I said I wouldn't mind or judge you."

Thessaly stayed silent.

After a while, she met Brandon's eyes. "Actually, there's something I've always wanted to ask you."

"What is it?"

Brandon seemed calm, but inside, he was calculating fast.

He hadn't expected Thessaly to become his most challenging ticking time bomb.

He didn't know if she'd blow up, when she'd blow up, or if she was even a bomb at all—maybe just a blank slate he could keep manipulating.

Thessaly bit her lip, hesitating.

But finally, she softly asked, "Brandon, did you and Penelope... really have a thing like I did with Paul?"

Brandon's eyes narrowed.

"I don't mean anything by it," Thessaly quickly added. "It's just, I, I..."

She seemed at a loss for words, looking anxious.

Brandon pulled his hand back and sat beside her.

They were close enough that a slight move could bring them into contact.

Brandon replied, "I was unconscious that night, so I don't know exactly what went down. But given the situation, it's safe to say everything that could happen did happen."

"So, you're saying... you don't know for sure, but based on your gut feeling, you think you and Penelope were... close?"

Thessaly watched Brandon's expression almost slip, but she acted like she didn't notice.

"The evidence is there," Brandon said. "Clothes off, holding each other, sleeping together—it's pretty clear."

After a pause, he added, "Kelvin saw it too!"

His voice was heavy, a bit sharp.

Realizing his tone, he tried to dial it back.

"I shouldn't have asked," Thessaly said. "Sorry."

"...It's fine."

Brandon was annoyed, his mood sour, but he didn't want to show it in front of Thessaly. He could only keep forcing himself to hold it all in.

Why did Thessaly suddenly bring this up?

Was she trying to prove she hadn't overheard his chat with Paul in the restroom?

Or was she testing him on purpose?

Brandon couldn't tell if Thessaly knew or didn't know!

So, for now, he was stumped on how to handle her.

But Brandon was sure Thessaly liked him, had feelings for him. His status was clear, and he'd been intentionally attentive, creating moments to stir her emotions.

'If Thessaly fell for him...' Brandon thought, 'she'd be easy to control!'

Just like Isabella back then, who loved him so much she was willing to sacrifice herself for him, for love, without a second thought!

With this in mind, Brandon quickly decided he had to make Thessaly fall for him completely!

Only a woman deeply in love with him would willingly be used by him, controlled by him!

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Paul and a few assistant directors and producers walked in one after another.

Paul glanced at Thessaly, his eyes full of guilt, quickly shifting his gaze, not daring to meet hers.

Thessaly sat upright on the sofa, calm and composed.

She hadn't done anything wrong; she had no reason to feel guilty!

"Let's kick off the meeting," Brandon said with a smile, his tone relaxed as if nothing had happened. "It's great that Thessaly's here today."

The assistant directors glanced at Thessaly, instantly getting the picture.

Clearly, Thessaly was the woman Brandon had his eye on!

Right now, the whole industry had one word for Thessaly: impressive!

She was undeniably talented. First, Kelvin had bought out her contract from her agency, and now Brandon was investing in a movie with her as the lead actress!

What kind of talent was this!

Thessaly kept a polite smile.

Let them misunderstand; she didn't care anymore.

In the past, she valued her reputation, cherished her image, and held herself to a high standard. But ever since her innocence was lost to Paul, she felt she had nothing left to protect, so she might as well use these rumors to solidify her career and establish herself in the entertainment industry.

From now on, people would know she had the backing of the Davis Group and The Walker Corporation, and no one would dare to mess with her casually!

Their misunderstandings were her weapon!

Two hours later, the meeting wrapped up.

Thessaly was the first to stand up. "I won't keep you any longer. I'm heading out."
