Chapter 847 Mr. Davis Wants to Help Thessaly Redeem Herself!

Other actresses would kill for the opportunities she gets without even trying!

Kelvin casually tugged at his tie. "For the sake of Adoring Cupid and Thessaly's role as the spokesperson, I think we should transfer her contract to the Davis Group."

The room fell silent.

Transfer her contract?

Was Kelvin planning to hand Thessaly over, lock, stock, and barrel?

After all, the connection between a star and their agency is bound by that contract. Breaking it before its term ends would mean a lawsuit and a hefty penalty.

Now, Kelvin was openly asking for Thessaly's contract. Was he trying to buy her out?

Thessaly must be incredibly lucky. Not only did she land the spokesperson gig, but she also got to dine next to Kelvin, which was already a big deal. And now, Kelvin was offering to "buy her out."

People in the industry were used to seeing wealthy patrons who would play around, sleep with a star, and then move on. Some would provide good opportunities or a large sum of money. The better ones might even help out if the star faced trouble later.

But buying out a contract? Kelvin was the first.

He was truly the big shot, the head of LA's top family. His move stunned everyone.

The agent was at a loss for words, mouth agape, looking at the CEO. She was just an employee; such a big decision had to come from the top.

"Mr. Davis," the CEO finally spoke, "Are you suggesting..."

"Was I not clear enough?"

Kelvin's tone was casual, even with a hint of a smile, but the CEO felt immense pressure.

Kelvin leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. "I'm doing this for Adoring Cupid."

He started making things up. If Penelope were here, she'd probably mutter, "Here he goes again, lying through his teeth."

But the others, unfamiliar with Kelvin, couldn't read his thoughts. They just assumed he was determined to buy out Thessaly's contract for Adoring Cupid and to keep her close.

"Adoring Cupid is a jewelry brand under Davis Group, holding seventy percent of the market share. It's a crucial part of our future."

"This spokesperson role is global and lifelong."

"So, for the brand's sake, I want Thessaly's contract to facilitate cooperation."

Kelvin paused deliberately, scanning everyone's faces.

"What do you think?"

No one dared meet his gaze.

Finally, Kelvin looked at the CEO. "Of course, the decision is yours. You're the president of the agency, Thessaly's boss. My words are just a suggestion. You can take it or..."

Kelvin stretched the pause for several seconds before finishing, "Ignore it."

Could they really ignore it? That would mean offending the Davis Group. How could they survive in LA after that?

Life would be tough.

"Think about it," Kelvin chuckled, "Maybe Davis Group and your company will have more dealings in the future."

First, a threat, then a promise of cooperation, Kelvin offered both the stick and the carrot. Now, it was up to the CEO.

Visible beads of sweat appeared on the CEO's forehead.

Two choices...

Transfer Thessaly's contract to Davis Group, earning Kelvin's favor, which he might remember in the future. But the agency would lose a valuable artist. In the competitive entertainment industry, nurturing a star requires luck and resources. Some agencies go years without a breakout star. A single famous artist can sustain an entire company.

Or, the agency could refuse Kelvin's request and keep Thessaly's contract. The spokesperson deal could be negotiated later. Kelvin liked Thessaly enough to choose her anyway, but it would mean offending Kelvin.

Kelvin's relaxed smile contrasted with the tension in the room.

"No rush," Kelvin said. "We have time. The meal has just started. Plenty of time to think. Cheers."

He raised his glass to the CEO.

The CEO forced a smile and took a sip.

Suddenly, Thessaly stood up, pushing her chair back. "I need to use the restroom."

Without waiting for a response, she quickly walked out, closing the door behind her.

"Mr. Davis, she..." The agent smiled awkwardly. "She'll be back soon, just for a restroom break. If you're worried, I can check on her."

The agent moved to follow.

"No need," Kelvin said, "I'll go."

Kelvin himself?

Thessaly must be important.

Before anyone could react, Kelvin was already out the door, walking leisurely.

The room remained silent.

The CEO sighed, "Should we even continue this meal?"

By certain unspoken rules, when the host and the woman beside him leave together, the meal is over. With the main players gone, what's the point of staying?

Outside the private room, in the hallway.

Thessaly walked quickly, head down. She didn't know why she suddenly needed to leave. She could have stayed, pretending nothing happened, sitting quietly like a background prop.

But she felt awful.

She never understood what Kelvin meant by "helping her" until now. Some people can achieve things effortlessly, just by their status, while she struggled in vain.

Thessaly felt like an object, being passed around.
