Chapter 1039 Brandon, Let Her Go
Thessaly had been snooping around and found the only piece of evidence!
Damn it!
He never thought Thessaly would be the one to wreck his whole plan!
"Go ahead, leave," Thessaly said with a smirk. "Why aren't you leaving? Scared that the second I walk out of here, I'll spill the beans?"
No matter how hard Brandon tried to keep his composure, he couldn't hide his emotions now.
His face gave him away.
Penelope watched the scene unfold and listened to their conversation. Even if she was slow to catch on, she got it now.
"The truth... what is it?" she asked softly. "Thessaly, what do you know? What did you find out? Why do you want to expose Brandon? Why is Brandon so desperate to take you away? Is he... scared?"
Penelope didn't dare to think further.
The more she thought about it, the more panicked she felt.
It was as if a giant black hole was about to engulf her, forcing her to confront things she had never imagined.
Penelope felt a chill down her spine.
Even though the office was over seventy degrees, she felt cold.
Penelope rubbed her arms.
Seeing this, Kelvin got up and walked over to her, pulling her into his embrace. "Cold?"
She looked up at him. "Not really cold, it's just..."
She couldn't describe the feeling.
Kelvin tightened his arms around her.
While this side was filled with warmth and affection, the tension between Brandon and Thessaly was thick.
"Don't do anything stupid," Brandon's voice was very low. "Thessaly, let's talk about this privately. Cease this madness!"
"I am going nuts! I am doing something stupid!"
"What more do you want?" Brandon asked. "I'll give you everything you want! I can even make you Mrs. Walker!"
Thessaly chuckled. "You make it sound so good."
"So you thought I was lying about wanting to marry you?" Brandon replied. "Fine, we can go to the city hall right now and get married. Do you dare?"
Thessaly answered directly, "I don't dare."
How could she marry a jerk?
Becoming Mrs. Walker would mean she was completely on Brandon's side.
Only if he were doing well would her life be good.
And... Brandon didn't love her. Who knew how he would treat her after marriage?
She might not even survive!
"Name your terms," Brandon asked again. "Thessaly, whatever lies within my capacity to accomplish, I shall consent to!"
She just shook her head. "I have no terms."
"You!"
"Nothing can tempt me, nothing can threaten me," Thessaly said. "Brandon, you miscalculated with me. You're right, I'm a complete lunatic. I don't care about anything anymore. I just want justice, I want the truth!"
Brandon's eyes were filled with murderous intent.
Thessaly met his gaze. "Brandon, I'm not Isabella."
He paused.
She continued, "Not every woman is Isabella."
A woman who loved Brandon so much, who would give her life for him, who wouldn't turn back... there was only one, and that was Isabella.
Thessaly was Thessaly.
"I can tell you with certainty, Brandon, I had feelings for you, I loved you. Even now, I still have feelings for you. But unfortunately, you don't deserve it... You don't deserve my love!"
Brandon stared at her for two seconds, then softened his tone.
Since force didn't work, he would try a softer approach.
"Let's talk this out," Brandon said, his tone gentler. "I can't have Penelope, but we can still be together. I'll treat you right, give you what you want. Why make this a disaster? Why fight to the end?"
He leaned in, brushing her cheek lightly. "Thessaly, come on, be reasonable. Don't make a scene."
He started to lower his stance, trying to coax her.
Thessaly had said she liked him, so she must not be able to resist his tenderness!
Women always fall for this!
"You pushed me to this point..." Thessaly closed her eyes. "Brandon, how could you be so heartless to send me to Paul's bed? You never had a shred of pity for me!"
"Not only did you ruin my body, but you also took photos, ready to destroy my reputation at any time."
"Brandon, every time my love for you grew, I forced myself to remember that night... and it made me calm down, it made my heart turn cold."
So cold... it could never be warmed again.
Penelope watched them from a distance, unable to hear what Thessaly and Brandon were saying.
She could only see their mouths moving, their voices low and indistinct.
"Kelvin..." Penelope called.
"I'm here."
"Is something serious happening?" she asked. "You know, Thessaly knows, even Brandon knows, but I'm the only one kept in the dark?"
Kelvin paused, his Adam's apple bobbing, unsure how to respond.
"Your silence is the answer," Penelope sighed. "I get it."
She was kind, innocent, and easily trusting of people, never willing to think badly of anyone. But that didn't mean she was stupid.
Seeing them still arguing and unable to reach an agreement, Penelope spoke up.
"Thessaly," she raised her voice, "if you want to tell me the truth, just say it."
Brandon and Thessaly both turned to look at her.
"Brandon, let her go," Penelope said. "You can't keep her here."
As she said this, she looked at Brandon with a hint of detachment.
Brandon's heart clenched.
Detachment! How could she be detached from him!
He had done so much, all of this, just to be with her, to protect her!
He loved her, deeply loved her!
Brandon started to panic.
He realized that Penelope was already doubting him.
The hint of detachment in her eyes was just the first step.
Next... Penelope would show shock, disbelief, sadness, hatred, and countless other emotions in front of him.
Eventually, when she looked at him, there would be no emotion left in her eyes!
If there were any, it would be full of hate!
At this point...
"Let's go!" Brandon gritted his teeth, grabbed Thessaly, and made one last desperate attempt.
He planned to take Thessaly away first!
His grip was strong, and Thessaly was almost dragged across the floor, losing all dignity!
She couldn't resist.
Kelvin's eyes darkened, and he stepped forward to rescue Thessaly.
But... as the door opened, several security guards were already standing outside.
"Mr. Davis," Ryan said, "should we stop Mr. Walker?"
Kelvin nodded.
The security guards immediately blocked the door tightly.
Brandon couldn't leave! He couldn't take Thessaly with him!
Thessaly's wrist was in excruciating pain, as if he were about to crush it.
