Chapter 866 Penelope, Punish Me

Kelvin didn't hesitate. He pulled her into his arms, feeling the reality of her presence.

"What were you thinking? How could I just leave over something like this?" Penelope muttered. "Even if I could leave you, I couldn't leave our kids."

"I'm just scared, Penelope."

Even though Kelvin's rational mind told him she wouldn't just up and leave, he couldn't help but worry. His anxiety was getting the best of him.

Seeing Kelvin so vulnerable in front of her, Penelope's heart softened.

"I just went across the street to get a coffee," Penelope said. "I sat there and drank it before coming back. My phone was in my bag, and I didn't check it."

She didn't mention meeting Thessaly. Thessaly probably didn't want Kelvin to know about the sudden, suppressed feelings she had last night. Girls understand each other.

"After the photo incident, Timothy and Tina said you looked really upset. Penelope, I was worried." Kelvin tightened his embrace. "Next time, let me know where you're going."

"I have to report even when I go for coffee?"

"You can tell Tina. Just don't leave the office without a word."

Penelope sniffled. "Shouldn't I be upset?"

"I was wrong." Kelvin buried his face in her neck, inhaling her faint scent. "From now on, I won't be alone with another woman. Even if we're standing together, I'll keep a three-foot distance, okay?"

Penelope wanted to laugh. This man, making such solemn promises...

He was kind of cute!

She tried to hold back her laughter, her body shaking slightly.

Kelvin couldn't see her face but felt her trembling. He thought she was upset.

Panicking, he promised more urgently, "Really, Penelope, I mean it! If you ever see me closer than three feet to another woman, you can do whatever you want to me!"

"What could I do to you?" Penelope replied. "You're the CEO of Davis Group, with all that power."

"I'll accept any punishment you give."

Afraid Penelope wouldn't believe him, Kelvin added, "Penelope, if I ever do anything to hurt you, I'll lose everything! You can take Sam and Lucy and leave anytime! All the shares of Davis Group, all my assets, will be yours!"

Penelope asked, "You'd give up everything?"

"If I lose you, none of it matters." Kelvin tightened his arms, his chin brushing her temple. "But I promise, I won't hurt you. I won't betray you. Thessaly and I..."

"Enough," Penelope interrupted. "You've explained. I know."

"Then you..."

"I believe you, but I have the right to be angry, don't I?" Penelope asked. "You gave Thessaly your jacket, right? No one forced you?"

"I gave it to her willingly."

"When did Mr. Davis become so considerate and caring towards women?"

Kelvin pressed his lips together. "I admit my mistake."

He did. From now on, his suit jacket would be welded to his body. No woman would get it!

Only Penelope could wear it!

"Fine, you made a mistake. I have the right to be angry." Penelope huffed. "Let go, you're holding me too tight. It hurts."

Kelvin loosened his grip slightly.

"Penelope, what can I do to make you not angry?"

At this point, Kelvin knew he had to have a good attitude, admit his mistakes, and slowly coax her. Otherwise, who could understand a woman's heart?

Kelvin didn't dare bring up why he had given the jacket. He gave it, and that was that.

He also didn't dare mention Sam's identity or her being Molly. Bringing up old issues would only make Penelope angrier!

"I haven't decided yet. I'm still pretty mad."

"Kneel on durian? Washboard? Remote control?"

Penelope's eyes twinkled. "That's too much. It makes me seem like I'm too harsh on you."

Kelvin sighed. "Penelope, punish me. Hit me, scold me, just don't ignore me, okay?"

What should he do? Give him a clue.

If he had known it would come to this, he wouldn't have chased after Thessaly from the booth!

"I just want to ignore you."

As soon as she finished speaking, the elevator doors opened.

Ryan reflexively looked up. "Mr. Davis, uh?"

This was Kelvin's private elevator, going straight to the top floor. Ryan's position was perfect for noticing and greeting him.

So, every time the elevator doors opened, Ryan would greet Kelvin first.

But today... Something was off.

The woman in Kelvin's arms, though her back was turned, looked like Penelope.

Kelvin's cold gaze swept over.

Ryan quickly lowered his head!

The elevator doors slowly closed.

"Hey, Kelvin..." Penelope asked. "What are you doing? Riding the elevator for fun? We're already here!"

"If you stop being mad, we'll get out."

"Kelvin! You're threatening me!"

He ruffled her hair. "When you do something wrong, you get punished. You punish me."

Penelope tried to struggle, but he held her tight, his arms like iron. She couldn't move.

Her way of coaxing Kelvin was to be submissive, smile, and endure physical torment at night.

Kelvin's way of coaxing her was to cling to her!

Why was he so shameless?

"Are you a masochist?" Penelope asked. "Do you need to be punished?"

"Yes, you punish me, and I'll feel better."

Penelope thought for a moment. She had an idea!

But she kept a calm, indifferent facade. "Since you want to be punished so badly, I'll oblige."

Kelvin looked at her.

"Starting tonight..." Penelope couldn't hold back a smile. "You sleep on the floor."

Kelvin's expression showed a hint of shock.

"The floor? Sleep on the floor?"

"Yes!"

Kelvin pressed his lips together. "Penelope, you're killing me."

He was used to holding her while sleeping, having her in his arms to feel secure.

Otherwise, he would have insomnia.

For years, Kelvin's insomnia persisted, but with Penelope by his side, it never acted up.

"Sleeping on the floor is killing you?"
