Chapter 1032 Is He Really Busy with Work?
Thessaly stared at her, eyes clear and bright.
"Penelope, if I have the truth, do you want me to spill it?"
Penelope nodded firmly. "Yes!"
"Do you want to know everything?"
"Absolutely!"
Thessaly blinked and suddenly smiled. "Alright, Penelope, I know what to do now."
"Can you tell me now?"
"Not yet."
"Why not?" Penelope asked, suddenly anxious. "Is someone threatening you?"
Thessaly shook her head. "No, it's just too complicated to explain in a few words. But with your support, I feel empowered and know what to do!"
No matter how much Kelvin tried to stop her, she would reveal everything!
To vent her anger, to punish Paul, to expose Brandon's hypocrisy, and to reveal Penelope Brandon's true colors.
Thessaly decided to act on her own!
She made up her mind but didn't tell anyone.
The kitchen filled with the aroma of food.
"Dinner's ready," Thessaly said with a smile. "Sam, Lucy, have you washed your hands?"
They responded, "We're going now!"
"I'll take you."
"No need," Penelope stopped her. "They're old enough to wash their hands themselves."
Thessaly watched the kids with a smile.
Penelope felt a vague sense of unease but couldn't pinpoint why.
The truth... what was it?
How did Thessaly know the truth? What was she planning?
By the time they finished dinner and left, it was completely dark.
Streetlights lit up.
Sam was reluctant to leave. "Angel Thessaly, why did time fly by so fast? I really don't want to leave… sob sob..."
Lucy teased, "You're a guy, why are you even going 'sob' like that?"
"I'm expressing my reluctance," Sam replied. "It's dark, the chefs have left, Angel Thessaly, are you sleeping alone tonight?"
"Yes."
"Isn't Uncle Brandon coming to keep you company?"
Thessaly said, "This is my home. I sleep here, he sleeps at his place."
Sam suddenly said shyly, "If you're scared, I can stay with you tonight. If there are monsters, I can chase them away and protect you!"
Penelope grabbed his collar and pulled him back.
"Sorry about that," Penelope said. "Don't mind him, he just says weird things without thinking."
She felt embarrassed.
Could Sam be any less reserved? Wanting to stay over at Thessaly's house and sleep with her?
If he were older, it would be considered inappropriate!
Sam protested, "I'm a brave knight. I want to protect my angel, my princess. What's wrong with that?"
"Your princess has a prince."
"The prince isn't here tonight. Can't I take his place?"
"No," Penelope said. "Let's go home!"
Sam reluctantly said goodbye to Thessaly. "Bye-bye, Angel Thessaly. I'll come over again when I can. You can visit my house too! Love you!!"
He blew kisses continuously.
"Kelvin," Penelope looked at him, "Does your son even know what 'reserved' means?"
"...I'm starting to think he might have a genetic mutation."
Kelvin and Penelope were more reserved, not expressing their feelings openly or boldly. They loved subtly, rarely saying it out loud. But Sam was different... his mouth could charm anyone, from Liam to toddlers, making them happy if he wanted to! Smooth talker!
The car drove down the road.
Penelope asked, "What do you think of Thessaly today?"
"...What do I think?"
"Yes."
"I didn't look closely," Kelvin replied. "Why?"
Penelope couldn't help but laugh. "So self-aware? I allow you to look and give your opinion. It's okay. You don't have to strictly follow 'men's etiquette.'"
"Better than last time," Kelvin said. "Other than that, I don't know."
Even if he knew, he couldn't say.
Penelope reached out to pinch his cheek. "I think you seem different today. You seem serious but also a bit distracted. You spent the whole day with me, though."
He lifted one hand from the steering wheel, held her wrist, and kissed it. "I would never be dismissive with you."
"Make sure to get up on time tomorrow and go to work," Penelope reminded him. "One day of indulgence is enough. Get back on track."
Kelvin nodded, then looked at her. "Penelope, I always feel like I don't spend enough time with you. In the future... I'll make more time for us to eat, walk, and shop together, okay?"
He used to think there were decades ahead, that delaying a day or two didn't matter. Now... Kelvin realized, every day counts. His days were numbered, and he wanted to spend all his time with her.
Before Penelope could respond, Sam squeezed his head between the seats.
"Kelvin, you're already quite free," Sam said. "During the day, you're at the office with Mom, just on different floors. You can see her anytime, and you have lunch together. At night, you sleep together, and in the morning, you wake up next to each other... How much more time do you need?"
Sam rubbed his chin. "Do you need a rope to tie Mom to you?"
Kelvin raised his hand to knock him.
Sam quickly dodged. "Missed!"
Penelope smiled at the scene. The bond between father and son was growing stronger. How wonderful.
She asked, "Sam, do you want your dad to be busy every day, leaving early and coming back late, attending meetings, and traveling occasionally... making it hard to see him, and having a meal together a luxury?"
"Not really," Sam replied. "But Mom, don't you think Kelvin is quite free now?"
"How is he free? He was busy until midnight last night."
"Just one night... Besides, who knows if he was really working?"
Kelvin's lips turned down slightly. He wasn't working. He was sitting in the office, lost in thought... He didn't want to go home, or rather, he was afraid to go home. He didn't know how to face Penelope and the kids. Unexpectedly, Penelope didn't suspect anything, but Sam hit the nail on the head!
