Chapter 907 Penelope, I Owe You a Wedding
As Timothy tried to get closer to Penelope for some advice, he suddenly felt a hand grab his collar and yank him back forcefully.
The pull made Timothy fall back into his seat, his body slamming against the chair.
Who the heck was that? Who dared to treat him like this?
He gripped the armrest of his chair and turned around with a face full of displeasure.
"Kelvin?"
Kelvin withdrew his hand. "You know you gotta keep some distance, right?"
"I wasn't doing anything."
"Yeah, but you were getting a bit too close to Penelope."
"How am I taking advantage of her?" Timothy was baffled. "I was just talking to her."
Kelvin asked, "Talking is fine, but why get so close?"
Timothy was helpless.
He leaned back in his chair. "Relax, I have no interest in her. You all know who I like."
"Just keep your distance," Kelvin said, crossing his arms. "If I talked to Monica like that, would you be cool with it?"
He had walked in and seen Timothy and Penelope with their heads close together, whispering about something.
Their voices were low, but their expressions were animated.
Kelvin's words made Timothy understand instantly.
He nodded, "Got it, sorry Kelvin."
Penelope was confused.
Understand what?
They were just talking closely to hear each other better without others overhearing.
"Why are you here?" Penelope asked. "Aren't you busy with work?"
Kelvin walked over to her. "I missed you, so I came to see you."
She couldn't help but smile. "We see each other every day, and you still miss me?"
"I just wanted to see you."
When he was busy or stressed, Kelvin felt recharged just by seeing her.
Penelope laughed and threw herself into his arms. "I missed you too."
Timothy, sitting nearby, felt extremely uncomfortable.
He shivered. "Enough, be mindful of the setting. This is the office, not The King Manor. I'm sitting right here, and there are others around."
Timothy gestured towards the other employees.
But the employees were all engrossed in their work.
Those staring at their computers didn't glance around.
Those copying documents stood straight with their backs turned.
It was as if Kelvin's presence was invisible, nonexistent.
Alright then, Timothy silently withdrew his hand. Pretend he didn't say anything.
It seemed everyone was experienced with their public displays of affection and had developed coping strategies!
Besides, Penelope was low-key, not one to flaunt, and easily embarrassed.
Kelvin was always the proactive one.
"Alright, I'm leaving." Timothy stood up. "I won't disturb you."
After a few steps, he hesitated and turned back.
"Maybe you should tone it down? No hugging and cuddling in public?"
With Kelvin's personality, he'd likely respond with, "It's none of your business."
But this time, Penelope spoke first. "We've been very restrained. Mr. Foster, when you finally win over Monica, I hope you remember what you just said. Don't be so high-profile."
Timothy turned and walked away silently.
Penelope's words made him realize something.
If he and Monica were together, he'd want to keep her by his side, holding hands all day long!
Kelvin bent down, resting his hand on her chair. "What were you talking about with Timothy?"
"Just chatting, giving him some advice."
"He hasn't succeeded yet?" Kelvin raised an eyebrow. "That's not great."
"And you're mocking him?" Penelope huffed, her temper flaring. "Think about me. I never experienced being pursued. Not even a proper confession. I ended up marrying you and having twins."
"It means we were destined."
Penelope punched him lightly. "Now that I think about it, I'm a bit jealous of Monica. At least Timothy likes her, pursues her, following the steps!"
Unlike Kelvin! He went straight to registering their marriage!
"Then, let me make it up to you?" He leaned closer, the faint scent of cologne wafting. "What kind of pursuit do you want?"
"Now that I've mentioned it, making it up to me feels insincere!"
For women, things said out loud and then received lose their significance and value.
It had to be given voluntarily by the man to truly make her happy!
Penelope was no different!
"Still holding onto that?" Kelvin pinched her nose. "Penelope, I've been thinking about this for a while."
"Liar."
Penelope didn't believe him at all.
Kelvin had become smarter, somewhat understanding a woman's heart!
He had plenty of sweet talk and flirtation tricks up his sleeve.
Who knew where he learned them, or if he was self-taught?
"Really," Kelvin replied. "Whatever other women have, you should have. Whatever other women don't have, you should have even more."
He often thought about how, despite being married with kids, he hadn't given her many things.
He wanted to make up for it.
He wanted to do something for her, to give her everything.
"Really?" Penelope asked. "Then tell me, what do you want me to have?"
His fingers played with her hair, his eyes sparkling. "Penelope, I owe you a wedding."
Her heart suddenly skipped a beat.
A wedding?
She had never really thought about it.
"To pursue you again, to experience the feeling of dating, I might not be able to do it, might mess it up. But in this lifetime, I've only loved you, Penelope." Kelvin said. "Besides, every day we're together is happy and joyful, even after years of marriage, it's like we're still in love."
"So our relationship, even though we're married, is no different from being in love."
"But a wedding is a must."
Their marriage had been rushed and hasty.
Kelvin hadn't found the opportunity to hold a grand wedding to marry his bride.
Now, it was time to give her that complete wedding.
It was Kelvin's regret.
He thought it was Penelope's regret too.
A once-in-a-lifetime wedding, what woman hadn't fantasized about it?
