Chapter 832 She Offended Kelvin's Wife!

"Perfect timing," Kelvin said, "Show her out."

"Sure thing, Mr. Davis," Ryan replied, stepping up to Jessamine. "This way, please."

Jessamine's face went pale.

She finally got it—she was out of chances.

The opportunity her agency had fought so hard for was now blown!

But Jessamine wasn't ready to give up!

She didn't even know what she did wrong! She thought she had nailed it!

"Mr. Davis, I, I..." Jessamine stammered, "I think I could also try to represent the Silk Haven brand."

Just a moment ago, she had been so dismissive.

Now, thinking it over, she realized she needed to grab any opportunity she could!

Otherwise, how could she face her agent?

Penelope smiled slightly, "You have no chance. Goodbye."

She waved her hand.

Ryan half-dragged, half-guided Jessamine out.

As they exited the CEO's office, Jessamine was still in a daze.

Why?

How did she mess this up?

"That woman..." Jessamine muttered, "Who is she? Is she really that favored? I mean, Mr. Davis is married, yet she can appear so openly in the company. Maybe Mrs. Davis knows about her and just tolerates it!"

Ryan asked, "Are you talking about the woman standing next to Mr. Davis?"

"Yes. It was just her and Mr. Davis in there."

"Oh, that's our Mrs. Davis."

Jessamine froze, "Wha... what? Mrs. Davis? She's Mrs. Davis? Mr. Davis's wife? Not his mistress?"

"Yes, Mrs. Davis," Ryan confirmed, "You didn't know? Didn't you do any homework on the company's executives before coming to Davis Group?"

"I looked at the photos of the Davis Group executives, but she wasn't on the board!"

"You missed the most important person. Mrs. Davis holds the most shares in Davis Group. Mr. Davis transferred them to her himself."

Jessamine's eyes were vacant as she finally understood where she had gone wrong.

She had offended Kelvin's wife!

She had just spoken to Kelvin's wife with that attitude and tone!

She was really asking for trouble!

"No, I need to go back and find Mrs. Davis!" Jessamine turned, ready to rush back into the CEO's office.

Ryan grabbed her, pressed the elevator button, and pushed her inside. "Take care."

There was no way he was letting Jessamine appear in front of Kelvin and Penelope again.

He used to like Jessamine, thinking she looked pure and was a national goddess, but...

After today, Ryan realized she was brainless.

No matter how pretty she was, the moment she opened her mouth, her lack of intelligence was exposed. She was just a pretty face with no substance!

Distance really does create beauty. To maintain her image, Jessamine, as a celebrity, was best kept on the screen, away from too much personal interaction.

As for this endorsement, it was definitely out of the question!

It wouldn't go to her.

In the CEO's office, Penelope sat on the couch. "Kelvin, Kelvin, what were you thinking? Choosing her as a potential spokesperson?"

"I hadn't chosen her yet, just considering."

"She's not suitable," Penelope said, "I don't need to meet her to know she's not right."

Kelvin crossed his legs, his hand casually resting on the couch. "Do you have someone in mind?"

"Yes! I came to talk to you about this!"

But as soon as she arrived, she ran into Jessamine, who even ordered her to serve tea.

If Jessamine had been polite and spoken nicely, Penelope might have even poured her a cup of black coffee and chatted about her views on "Adoring Cupid."

But Jessamine's attitude and condescending look immediately killed Penelope's interest. She didn't want to know more!

Because Jessamine reminded her of Madison!

When Madison was at her peak, she was just like Jessamine now!

Why are all the female stars in the entertainment industry like this? Is there no normal person?

Penelope couldn't help but worry. What if Thessaly were the same? What would she do then?

"Go ahead," Kelvin looked at her, "Choosing a spokesperson is a small matter. You have the final say. In our family, I only make decisions on the big things."

"This is the company."

"The company is also your domain. You hold the most shares."

Penelope pouted, "So, if I say who to choose, that's who we choose?"

"Exactly."

"I like Thessaly," Penelope said directly, "If possible, have her come to the company. I want to meet her and talk more."

She was afraid that if Thessaly were also arrogant and eccentric, she couldn't handle it.

"Sure," Kelvin nodded, "I'll have Ryan contact her."

Penelope tilted her head, thinking, "If Thessaly isn't suitable, I'll have to think carefully about which other female star could be a backup."

"Take your time, no rush."

"Let's meet Thessaly first. If she's not right, we'll figure it out," she mumbled, "I can't think of anyone else right now."

She really liked Thessaly; she was her first choice!

Kelvin just looked at her calmly, with a hint of tenderness in his eyes—a look that only appeared when he looked at Penelope!

No one else received this treatment.

"That's it, I have nothing else." Penelope stood up, "I'm heading back to the jewelry department."

"Leaving already?"

"What else?" Penelope said, "You do your job, I'll do mine. It's work hours, after all."

Kelvin asked, "I already took the day off for you. Why did you come to the company?"

Speaking of this, Penelope got excited.

"Who told you to take the day off for me? Who told you to turn off my alarm? Who told you to stop the butler from waking me up? I forgot to settle this with you after the meeting, and you have the nerve to bring it up!"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"You!"

Kelvin, always thick-skinned, remained unfazed, "I knew you were tired, so I let you rest more. Was that wrong?"

"You could avoid tiring me out."

"Other things, maybe, but not at night."

Penelope bit her lip.

Forget it, she couldn't win this argument!

To win against him, she'd have to be even more shameless and thick-skinned!

Penelope couldn't do it.

Kelvin patted his leg, "Come here, sit."

She stood still.

"Do I need to carry you?"

"I'm going back to the jewelry department!"

"It's almost the end of the day. You won't get much done. Why not spend more time with me?" Kelvin said, "Then we can go home together."

Penelope mumbled, "Am I here to work or to keep you company?"

"You can do both. Keeping me company is your main task; work is secondary."

"Aren't you afraid of office gossip?"

Kelvin raised an eyebrow, "Who dares to gossip about us?"

True.

"Penelope," Kelvin patted his leg again, signaling her to come over.

Penelope reluctantly shuffled over to him.
