Chapter 1099 Why Is Your Neck Red from a Bite

"Why wait two days? Are you feeling sick or something? Or is it, you know, that time of the month?"

Penelope shook her head. "No, I'm fine. I'm just worried about you."

Kelvin raised an eyebrow. "Me?"

"Yeah, you just got out of the hospital. You should rest first. I'm not going anywhere; I've always been yours. A couple of days won't make a difference. Don't rush."

"Penelope," Kelvin said, gently stroking her hair, "you need to understand that when it comes to a man's performance related to sex, it's not something to question. Got it?"

"I'm just concerned about your health!"

"But I can't wait any longer."

He grabbed her waist, ready to pull her into his arms.

Penelope pressed against his chest, her eyes sparkling. "Really... are you sure?"

"You'll find out soon enough."

Kelvin pulled the blanket over them both.

The temperature in the master bedroom began to rise... Kelvin showed Penelope that he was full of energy.

Penelope quickly realized she had been worrying for nothing. Kelvin was as strong and vigorous as ever!

She thought he was just pent up after all these days and finally able to relax.

But deep down, Kelvin knew that his days of having Penelope, both body and soul, were numbered.

He was indulging himself, savoring every moment.

The thought of not being able to have her, kiss her, or be with her in the future, and the idea of another man doing these things to her... it made Kelvin's heart ache.

When they finally stopped, it was already past midnight.

Penelope was groggy, unable to keep her eyes open, exhausted, and sore.

She only remembered Kelvin, as usual, carrying her to the bathroom to wash up, then back to bed, kissing her forehead, and falling asleep together.

He had done this many times, and she had experienced it many times.

He always took care of everything.

She just had to sleep.

Safe and sound.

The bed at home was the most comfortable place in the world, spacious, soft, with a faint, pleasant scent.

Penelope slept soundly until morning.

She felt refreshed!

When she went downstairs, Kelvin was already sitting in the dining room, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper, with the TV on, showing the morning news.

Sam and Lucy had finished breakfast and were getting ready for school.

"Mommy," Lucy said, "you woke up late."

"Yeah, I overslept." Penelope walked over and fixed her collar. "Go to school now, bye-bye."

"Bye-bye, Mommy. Kiss-kiss."

Sam, with his backpack on, ran over and stopped just in time in front of Penelope.

"Wait." He asked, "Mom, it's winter. Are there still mosquitoes in the house?"

"What? Mosquitoes? No, there aren't any."

"Then why is your neck all red like you got bitten?" Sam said, reaching out to touch it.

Penelope suddenly realized and quickly covered her neck!

Oh my God!

She forgot to cover it up! He saw it!

"What's wrong?" Sam looked puzzled. "Let me see if it's serious. Maybe Jeff can give you some medicine."

Tell Jeff?!

No way!

"It's nothing," Penelope hurriedly said. "I've already applied some medicine! You should go to school now!"

Seeing her reaction, Sam became even more curious. "Are you sure it's nothing? I saw several red spots, some even purple..."

Before he could finish, Penelope covered his mouth.

This was bad.

There were other servants around!

Kids might not understand, but adults certainly do!

"Alright, go to school," Penelope said. "Don't dawdle, don't waste time. Hurry up, the driver has been waiting for you for a while!"

She quickly sent Sam and Lucy out the door, watching the car drive away before she breathed a sigh of relief.

Back in the dining room, Kelvin was still calmly sitting there, reading the newspaper and drinking coffee.

"It's all your fault." Penelope glanced at him. "I told you not to... and you left marks!"

Kelvin replied leisurely, "What's the big deal? Sam doesn't understand."

"And besides, it's cold. Just wear a sweater and a scarf, and no one will see."

Penelope couldn't argue with him, so she pinched his arm.

Kelvin let her pinch him; it didn't hurt anyway.

After all, when it came to loved ones, a little pinch or scolding was just affection.

These moments were rare for him.

A servant brought breakfast. "Mrs. Davis, this was kept warm for you in the kitchen."

"Thank you."

She ate while watching TV.

"By the way, Kelvin, are you going to the office today?"

"Yeah." He nodded. "After a week in the hospital, there's a lot of work piled up."

"I should go to work too. I haven't finished my design drafts. Tina hasn't rushed me, but I feel like I shouldn't delay any longer..."

They chatted casually.

On TV, after the commercials, a drama started.

Penelope said, "Is she the lead actress?"

Kelvin glanced up.

"Do you remember her?" Penelope smiled. "Jessamine. She once came to your office, wanting to be the spokesperson for Adoring Cupid, and mistook me for your secretary."

"I vaguely remember." Kelvin refocused on the newspaper.

"I remember her well." Penelope said, "She was so arrogant in your office, and her gaze at you was very purposeful, clearly wanting to win you over. And what happened?"

Jessamine got nothing.

She lost the spokesperson opportunity.

And offended Penelope.

"I used to like her, but her character turned out to be so bad..." Penelope shrugged. "Our Thessaly is much better. She looks elegant and beautiful on TV, and even more so in person!"

Penelope and Jessamine only met once.

After that, they never saw each other again and had no further interactions.

If it weren't for seeing Jessamine on TV today, Penelope wouldn't have remembered her at all.

And Penelope didn't dwell on it. After breakfast, she went to the office with Kelvin.

Neither of them mentioned Jessamine again.

After all, she was just someone they had no real connection with, who appeared once and would likely never cross paths again.

Even if they did, Jessamine would probably avoid them, not daring to approach.

At the design department.

"Penelope!" Tina greeted her happily. "You look great! I guess Mr. Davis is better, so you're relieved!"

"Yes, he was discharged yesterday afternoon. All his test results are normal. He just needs to take his medication on time and go for regular check-ups."

"I knew Mr. Davis was strong. This was just a sudden issue, nothing major."
