Chapter 885 Godfather is Much Better Than My Dad
If the evidence wasn't solid, showing it now would just give Brandon a chance to slip away. Plus, it would make him even more careful in the future, making it harder to catch him!
And besides, Penelope trusted Brandon completely.
How could she suspect someone who's been helping her selflessly for years, without asking for anything in return, and who's also her childhood friend?
Getting solid evidence was so tough!
The photos, the paparazzi, the wine; Kelvin suspected Brandon was behind all of it!
Better to be cautious for now.
Kelvin stood up and walked out.
Just then, there was a knock on the study door. "Mr. Davis."
"Yeah, what is it?"
"Ms. Perez is here," the butler reported. "She's downstairs with Mrs. Davis and the kids."
Monica visiting the King Manor was usual.
She was the godmother to the two kids and Penelope's best friend.
As long as Monica didn't badmouth him in front of Penelope, Kelvin could tolerate her.
After all, Monica was someone he'd have to deal with for the rest of his life.
No getting rid of her!
After a brief pause, the butler added, "But,"
Kelvin opened the door. "What else?"
"Mr. Foster is here, too. But Ms. Perez won't let him in, so..."
"Timothy? Where is he?"
"At the front gate."
Kelvin raised an eyebrow.
Monica had blocked Timothy at the gate of The King Manor?
What was going on?
"Got it." Kelvin headed downstairs.
Looks like there might be some drama.
Usually, it was Timothy watching his misfortunes. Now, the tables had turned, and Kelvin finally had a chance to watch Timothy.
In the living room.
Monica sat on the couch, looking a bit dazed, holding a cup of hot water that was slowly tilting.
Eventually, the water spilled onto her.
Monica snapped out of it, startled by the hot water.
"What are you thinking about?" Penelope quickly grabbed some tissues to help her clean up. "If you want to see Timothy, just see him. Why block him out and then think about him?"
Monica immediately retorted, "Who said I was thinking about him?"
"Then why were you spacing out?"
"I was just thinking, I can avoid him for now, but I can't avoid him forever!"
Tonight, she could stay at The King Manor.
But what about tomorrow night? And the night after that?
This wasn't a sustainable solution!
"Godmother," Sam asked, "who's the bad guy following you and bullying you? Tell me, and I'll go teach him a lesson right now!"
He struck a fighting pose, full of determination.
"I've been trained, you know," Sam said proudly. "Brian taught me a few moves. I can knock the bad guy down and make him behave!"
He threw a few punches, looking quite serious.
It seemed Brian had taught him well, and Sam had learned diligently!
Monica looked at him. "You're the best, Sam, always ready to help me. Ah, men are only cute when they're little. It's a shame that when you grow up, you'll become like your dad and Timothy... just awful."
Sam, balancing on one leg, wobbled at her words. "Huh?! I'm awful?"
"No, no, not you," Monica quickly clarified. "I meant Timothy."
"What?!" Sam was even more shocked. "Godmother, the bad guy you've been complaining about to my mom is Godfather?!"
"Yes! It's him!"
Sam's face was full of confusion as he stood up straight and scratched his head.
What was he supposed to do now?
On one side was Godmother, and on the other was Godfather.
Who should he help?
"Godfather's nice," Sam tried to defend Timothy. "He's funny, handsome, and has a good temper. He never gets angry. He's way better than my dad!"
He had a very good impression of Timothy.
From the first time they met, when Timothy helped him by giving him a hotel key card to escape Kelvin's grasp, he remembered it vividly!
"Oh?" Kelvin's voice came from behind, "So in your heart, Sam, Timothy is better than me?"
Sam started coughing violently.
Why did Kelvin always hear him when he said something bad about him? It was like he was everywhere!
"No, you heard wrong," Sam replied. "I said Godfather is very good, just as good as you!"
Penelope and Monica both gave him disdainful looks.
Even Lucy instinctively distanced herself from him.
She didn't want to be associated with such a sycophantic Sam!
But Sam didn't care about such details!
Until he visited the satellite launch base and saw a spaceship, the number one person in his heart would always be Kelvin!
Only Kelvin!
Even Penelope had to take a back seat for now!
"Really?" Kelvin walked over, placing a large hand gently on Sam's head, looking like a loving father. "Then go bring your Godfather into the house."
"Me? How? I can't drive!"
"He's at the gate."
Sam was stunned again and looked at Monica. "However, Godmother expressed her unwillingness to see him."
"What did she say?" Kelvin asked. "Repeat it for me."
He didn't want to offend either Monica or Kelvin!
Sam started to play dumb, turning to Lucy. "Oh, the cartoon is about to start! Lucy, change the channel, don't miss it!"
At that moment, he was just a five-year-old who only cared about cartoons!
Sam knew how to use his age to his advantage! Switching roles effortlessly!
Kelvin sat down on the couch, glancing at Monica. "Are you here to hang out with Penelope or to avoid Timothy?"
"Both," Monica replied. "Is that a problem?"
"I didn't say it was."
Monica put down her cup, clearly frustrated. "I used to just grab a beer and head to Penelope's place whenever I wanted. We'd chat all night, about anything. Now, it's different. She's married."
"She has a husband and kids, and her life revolves around her family. I'm an outsider now, not important anymore."
"I came to avoid trouble, but it's been so stressful. Ugh, I should just leave."
