Chapter 1030 Evidence Released, Given to Penelope
Kelvin finally let go of Penelope when he saw Brandon walk away from the corner of his eye.
He even wiped the... drool from the corner of her mouth with a smirk.
"How am I supposed to face people now?" Penelope buried her head in his chest. "Everyone saw us!"
"Let 'em look. I'm kissing my girl, nothing wrong with that."
"In public, though? It's kinda embarrassing."
Kelvin shrugged, "Who cares? They're just jealous 'cause they don't have anyone to kiss."
Penelope couldn't help but laugh.
Just then, her phone rang.
She thought it was Kelvin's and said, "See, you skipped work today, it's probably Ryan calling you... Poor Ryan, being the CEO's assistant must be rough."
"It's your phone, Penelope."
"What?!"
Penelope checked her phone and saw it was Thessaly calling!
She answered quickly, "Hey, Thessaly."
"Penelope, are you free tonight?" Thessaly asked. "I've got the chef making dinner at my place, and I'd love for you to come over."
"You're at your place? Not the Walker Mansion?"
"Yeah, I've been back for a few days now."
"Feeling better?"
Thessaly laughed, "Much better. I didn't get to host you and your family properly last time, so I want to make it up to you. I miss Sam and Lucy, too; they must miss me as well."
Penelope glanced at Kelvin, silently mouthing, Should we go?
Kelvin nodded, "Let's do it."
"Alright," Penelope said, "We're free tonight."
"Awesome, I'll be waiting for you all."
Thessaly sounded so cheerful, a complete turnaround from the last time they saw her.
After hanging up, Penelope muttered, "What happened to Thessaly... she was so down before, and now she's back to her old self."
"It's good she's better, don't worry."
"Yeah, Sam and Lucy will be thrilled to see their angel Thessaly again."
Penelope linked her arm with Kelvin's, "Let's go home, pick them up, and head to Thessaly's place."
They left the mall together.
Thessaly put down her phone and adjusted her coat.
She had been staying home alone for the past few days, not going out or seeing anyone, and had even put off work.
She wasn't planning to continue her movie career, and as for her future plans... Thessaly wasn't sure.
If she were still with her old agency, this kind of behavior wouldn't fly. The company wouldn't care what she was going through; as long as she was alive and breathing, she had to attend the scheduled events.
It was Kelvin and Penelope who helped her buy out her contract and start her own company.
Thessaly could now plan her work schedule freely.
But the thorn in her heart remained.
She couldn't just sit on the evidence she had and never expose it.
So...
Tonight, she invited Kelvin and Penelope over for dinner to discuss it with Kelvin again!
In the kitchen, two chefs were busy preparing the meal.
Half an hour later, the doorbell rang.
Thessaly ran to open the door.
"Angel Thessaly!"
Sam and Lucy stood at the door, shouting happily. Their clear, sweet voices were a joy to hear.
"It's Sam and Lucy." Thessaly patted their heads. "Come in, welcome to my home!"
Sam looked up, "Angel Thessaly, you look so much better than last time, even prettier."
"Yeah," Lucy agreed, "and you smell so nice."
"Nice?" Thessaly sniffed herself. "I'm not wearing any perfume."
She had been lounging at home in her pajamas, often too lazy to even wash her face, let alone wear perfume.
"It's the angel's scent," Sam said. "Pretty girls always smell nice, just like Mom!"
He turned to Kelvin, "Right? You must smell it all the time."
"...Right."
Thessaly laughed heartily.
Penelope sat down on the couch. "I saw Brandon at the mall this afternoon, and now I'm at your place tonight. Why aren't you two spending time together?"
"He's busy with work, and I'm busy with my own things."
Penelope asked, "When are you joining the film crew?"
Thessaly hesitated, unsure how to answer.
Kelvin also frowned slightly.
Just then, Sam called out.
He had accidentally gotten chocolate on his hands and clothes while opening a cookie.
"How careless," Penelope said, walking over. "Come on, I'll take you to the bathroom to clean up."
Thessaly pointed, "Over there."
"Okay."
As soon as Penelope left, Thessaly's smile gradually faded, and she lowered her head, speaking softly, "Have you thought it over, Mr. Davis?"
"Thought about what?"
"Releasing the evidence of what Brandon did and giving it to Penelope."
Kelvin replied calmly, "Didn't we already agree on this?"
He was to keep the evidence hidden forever.
Brandon would also keep the photos of Thessaly and Paul hidden, not posting them online.
Although Thessaly said she didn't mind, Kelvin couldn't disregard her feelings.
A woman's reputation was a precious wealth.
Moreover, Thessaly had risked a lot to get that evidence, and now she would have to risk her reputation and future... Kelvin couldn't let her sacrifice that much.
Plus, Kelvin had been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Brandon knew about his illness, too.
Brandon was likely more confident now that the evidence would never reach Penelope.
Kelvin had to consider Thessaly's feelings and Penelope's future.
As Brandon said today, if Kelvin exposed him, Penelope would distance herself from him and cut ties forever.
In the future, when Kelvin was no longer around, if Penelope faced difficulties, she would refuse Brandon's help.
Kelvin knew Penelope's character.
Although Brandon was ruthless and did some despicable things, he wouldn't do anything to harm Penelope.
Arranging for a journalist to take intimate photos and staging the night at the hotel was all just to win Penelope over.
Not to harm her.
Kelvin was also considering whether, if Thessaly no longer had to worry, he should give the evidence to Penelope.
Brandon was betting that he wouldn't.
But Kelvin thought Penelope had the right to know the truth.
