Chapter 958 Accept Thessaly, If Not, Eliminate It
The truth from that night... it seemed like it was finally coming to light!
At that moment, Thessaly made up her mind.
She had to tell Kelvin about this!
Kelvin, and only Kelvin, could figure out a way to handle it!
"Thessaly, acting is your profession," she told herself in the mirror, "Now's the time to really act, to show your skills... Stay calm, stay cool, you're the leading lady! From now on, you're just an innocent character who knows nothing!"
Most people would freak out when Brandon walked in.
No matter how hard they tried to hide it, their faces would give them away, making it easy to see through them.
But Thessaly was an actress.
Acting was her jam.
She would play the part of someone who knew nothing, and she had to keep it up flawlessly to fool Brandon!
Thessaly picked up her eyebrow pencil again, erasing the smudged tail and carefully redrawing it.
In the office.
Paul was already feeling shaky. "Mr. Walker, was it really Thessaly in the restroom?"
"Yeah."
"Then she heard everything!" Paul blurted out, wide-eyed.
Brandon shot him a look. "Why don't you shout a little louder? Then she really would hear you."
Paul quickly clamped his hand over his mouth, totally flustered and unsure of what to do.
"Mr. Walker, she was in the restroom the whole time; she must have... she must have heard everything," Paul said. "She got to the office before us!"
Brandon furrowed his brow tightly. "I'm not sure yet if she heard anything."
The rock music playing on Thessaly's phone was also one of Brandon's favorites.
It was loud and noisy, and Thessaly had her headphones on, so normally, she wouldn't hear anything outside.
But... what if Thessaly did it on purpose?
"How can we be sure?" Paul said anxiously. "She must have heard it, there's no question! Unless she's deaf!"
Paul leaned in closer to Brandon, whispering, "Mr. Walker, think of a way to... deal with Thessaly. If you can't win her over, then get rid of her! Otherwise, she'll be a huge problem!"
Brandon stood with his hands on his hips, pacing in front of the sofa.
Of course, he wanted to win Thessaly over!
If it were anyone else, whether they heard or not, he would deal with them swiftly, not allowing any mistakes.
But... Thessaly was different.
She was the first actress signed under Davis Group and had a good relationship with Penelope. If he suddenly made a move against Thessaly, it would be too easy to expose himself!
And there was no legitimate reason!
If he went after Thessaly, Kelvin would definitely protect her!
"Mr. Walker!" Paul asked again, "What are you hesitating for? Whether she heard or not, she's in the office! Her presence is already a threat!"
"Shut up! Do I need you to tell me that?"
Brandon was already irritated, and Paul's constant instigation only made it worse.
After a while, Brandon stopped pacing and glanced toward the restroom.
"Let's wait and see," he said coldly. "Don't act rashly."
"…Okay, Mr. Walker."
Brandon urged, "Get your assistant director over here, pronto!"
Paul hurried to make the call.
Two minutes later, Thessaly stepped out of the restroom.
Her makeup was on point—flawless and fresh—but an underlying sense of exhaustion was impossible to hide.
"Mr. Walker." Thessaly sauntered over to the sofa in her high heels. "Why are you here alone? Where's everyone else? Did you clear the room just for me?"
"They'll be here soon. Have a seat."
"Alright."
Thessaly sat down, casually flipping her hair over her shoulder.
Brandon's gaze lingered on her, always with that scrutinizing look.
She knew it but acted like she didn't notice, playing it cool.
Still... Thessaly kept her composure, showing no signs of anything being off.
The battle of wits had begun!
"How have you been resting at home these days?" Brandon asked. "You don't seem fully recovered."
Thessaly replied softly, "A wound, even when healed, leaves a scar. I went through such a big ordeal, got hurt so badly... even if it heals, the scar remains."
"Sorry, I..."
"It's not your fault, Mr. Walker. Let's not dwell on it and focus on the movie."
Brandon nodded, glancing at her outfit. "You didn't come from home, did you?"
"No, I went to Davis Group."
Brandon's already tense nerves tightened even more at the mention of Davis Group!
"I'm the spokesperson for Adoring Cupid," Thessaly said lightly. "I went to shoot the promotional poster today. If all goes well, it'll be out next week, and you'll see my picture in the mall."
"I see." Brandon nodded. "I hope your work goes smoothly and you recover soon."
"Thank you."
Brandon poured her a cup of coffee and asked, "Is the temperature okay? Not too cold?"
"Just right."
Thessaly took a sip, lowering her eyes to hide her anxiety once more, ensuring she didn't give anything away!
She hadn't heard anything, knew nothing!
Brandon watched her silently, his eyes holding a hint of emotion, faint but present.
A man looking at a woman like that could easily lead to misunderstandings.
Thessaly had misunderstood before.
But now... she only felt an overwhelming sense of dread!
Brandon was doing it on purpose!
Deliberately looking at her like that, stirring her imagination to run wild, and making her heart flutter, but he never said anything, leaving her to overthink on her own!
What was Brandon up to?
His target was clearly Penelope, yet he was trying to flirt with her?!
And he was secretly colluding with Paul, doing shady things... the more she thought about it, the more terrifying it became!
Brandon wasn't as simple as he seemed!
Still, Thessaly calmly sipped her tea.
At this moment, it was all about staying calm.
Whoever stayed calm and composed would win!
Brandon isn't ready to confront her just yet; he won't directly ask if she's heard anything.
She just had to play dumb!
"I know you have issues with Paul, and it's a deep-seated hatred," Brandon said. "Thessaly, I want to help you, but for this movie... he's the director, and I can't replace him."
Thessaly lowered her eyes, turning the coffee cup in her hands. "I understand. I don't blame you, nor do I hold any grudges."
"I'm sorry," Brandon said, genuinely remorseful. "I can't do anything to help you."
