Chapter 1064 He Doesn't Dare to Act Recklessly

"We've been together for over two months now..." Timothy said.

"Only two months!" Monica replied.

Timothy shrugged. "Alright, alright, we'll do it your way. But Monica, I've already shown your picture to my parents. They were really satisfied with you. As soon as you give the nod, I can take you home anytime!"

Monica felt a warm, sweet sensation in her heart.

He gave her love, security, and respect.

She believed they would have a good outcome.

He loved her, and she loved him.

They were just waiting for the right, mature moment.

Back at The King Manor, Lucy rushed to greet them.

"Sam!" she asked with concern, "How's your cold? Feeling better?"

"Much better, don't worry. I'm strong, just a little sniffle, no big deal!"

Sam pounded his chest, looking nothing like the sickly person he was that morning.

Ruby sighed in relief. "As long as you are okay. He's always been healthy and rarely gets a cold. A bit of rest and he's back to normal. This time was no different."

"Yeah," Penelope agreed. "He almost scared me. After Lucy's illness, I'm now..."

She didn't finish her sentence.

It was in the past; no need to bring it up again.

Penelope valued her family's health the most. As long as everyone was safe and sound, that was all that mattered.

She looked at Kelvin. "We all need to stay well."

"We will."

It seemed like an ordinary response, but no one knew how much Kelvin was hurting inside.

He had no one to talk to.

Late at night.

Thessaly suddenly called.

"Hello?" Penelope answered. "What's up, Thessaly?"

"Paul is downstairs in my apartment complex," Thessaly said. "He won't leave, insists on seeing me, says we can talk privately. There are already a lot of entertainment reporters around here. Does he want more news?"

"What about security? Get them to kick him out!"

"Useless, it won't solve the problem. He'll just come back," Thessaly said, frustrated. "Does he think I'll drop the charges? No way, I won't let him off!"

Penelope thought for a moment and told her what Brandon had said.

"Thessaly... actually, I met with Brandon. He suggested that if you drop the charges against Paul and settle things privately, allowing the movie to resume production, he would hand over the photos."

Thessaly laughed bitterly. "I knew he would say that. He's a businessman, worried about his investment failing."

Brandon never cared about her feelings!

And she still held onto a sliver of hope that he would consider her.

Women in love were so naive, always lowering their stance.

Knowing what kind of person Brandon was, knowing that the one who hurt her the most wasn't Paul, but Brandon, yet she...

"Thessaly, I didn't agree to his terms," Penelope said. "I can't make decisions for you. I respect your wishes."

Thessaly was silent.

Penelope continued, "I still stand by what I said. I support whatever decision you make. Whether you want to pursue this to the end or settle with Brandon privately, I fully respect your choice."

Thessaly had to decide for herself.

She was the biggest victim in this.

After a long silence, Thessaly said, "Brandon loves you so much, yet he refused your request for the photos. If he won't listen to you, meeting him won't make a difference."

"Do you want to see him?"

Thessaly thought for a moment and finally said, "No."

Meeting him was pointless.

She hated Brandon, yet loved him. A person she both loved and hated, it was better not to see him again.

Just as Thessaly was about to hang up, there was a loud bang outside.

It sounded like an explosion.

She shuddered in fear.

Penelope heard it too and tensed up. "What happened, Thessaly? Is Paul causing trouble?"

"I'll check by the window," Thessaly reassured her. "It's fine, security is tight here, and there are reporters with cameras everywhere. He wouldn't dare do anything. I'll hang up now, don't worry."

After hanging up, Penelope was still uneasy.

She glanced at Kelvin several times, hesitant to speak.

"Do you want to go over?" Kelvin easily read her mind. "Is that it?"

"I'm worried about Thessaly. Even though Paul can't do anything serious to her, this constant harassment isn't good. And if Paul gets desperate and does something rash, it could be bad."

"Then let's go check it out."

Dealing with Paul was easy enough.

Kelvin didn't take him seriously.

The real challenge was Brandon.

But Paul was Brandon's man. Maybe Paul's absurd actions were Brandon's idea?

Brandon's schemes had been exposed. Maybe he was just going all out now.

"Alright," Penelope nodded. "The sooner we resolve this, the better. We can't drag it out."

Dragging it out... who knew what it might turn into!

What Penelope feared most was Brandon releasing the photos online, ruining Thessaly's reputation.

If Brandon did that, she would never speak to him again, never forgive him!

"Where are you going?" Sam squeezed between them. "Just got home and you're leaving again?"

Penelope replied, "We have urgent business. You and Lucy stay home and wait for us."

"I heard Thessaly's voice on the phone. Are you going to see her?"

"Yes."

Sam immediately said, "I want to..."

Before he could finish, Penelope shook her head. "No, you can't go today."

Lucy asked, "Can I go?"

"No."

Sam and Lucy's faces fell simultaneously.

Sam asked, "Why can't I go? Why?"

He tugged on Kelvin's sleeve. "Did you forget? I handed you that bugging device. I did a great job, helped a lot!"

"What?" Penelope was shocked. "How did the bugging device end up with you?"

How did Sam get involved?

"You don't know," Sam said proudly. "Last time we visited Thessaly at the Walker Mansion, when she looked really worn out, she secretly slipped the bugging device into my pocket before we left."
