Chapter 645 Sleeping with Mom and Dad

Penelope didn't have much to spend on, so she just saved her salary.

Given the Cooper family's financial situation, even though they were well-off, they wouldn't come to a barbecue joint where the per-person cost was a few thousand bucks.

"No matter how pricey it is, we can handle it," Kelvin said. "Why didn't you use the card I gave you?"

"I didn't bring it with me."

"You never bring it with you, do you?" Kelvin asked.

Penelope nodded guiltily.

Kelvin had given her a card with no spending limit.

After she got it, she just tossed it in a drawer and never touched it again.

"Why don't you use it?" Kelvin pressed. "Did I give it to you just to keep it safe?"

"No!"

Oh man, why did it always come back to the card?

For the first time, Penelope felt like the drive back to King Manor was taking forever!

She really wanted to tell the driver to step on it!

Finally, the car pulled up at King Manor.

Penelope let out a sigh of relief and reached out to pick up Lucy. "You need to go to bed early. It's so late; why are you still out with Daddy?"

"I wanted to see you, Mommy."

Her heart melted. "I'll come home, just a little later."

"When you're not home, Daddy goes to find you. I don't want to be alone." Lucy yawned on her shoulder, already super sleepy. "I want to be with both of you."

"Okay, I'll come home earlier from now on."

"Can I sleep with you and Daddy tonight?" Lucy asked.

Penelope paused. Why did Lucy suddenly ask that?

"Daddy sleeps on the left, Mommy on the right, and I sleep in the middle." Lucy planned with great excitement. "I've always wanted this, but it never happened. Can it happen tonight?"

"Daddy, what do you think?" Lucy turned to Kelvin for his opinion.

Of course, Kelvin would agree!

He couldn't wait!

Because, when she was coaxing him this morning, she said she didn't want to be intimate in the office.

Penelope thought this matter was over and wouldn't be brought up again, and Kelvin wouldn't mention it either.

Unexpectedly, Lucy brought it up!

He'd be a fool not to go along with it!

Sure enough, Kelvin replied, "I think it's a great idea."

He even gave Penelope a meaningful look.

She got what he meant.

Penelope could only play dumb. "Lucy, do you remember what I said before? You're a big girl now; you can't always sleep with adults."

"Just for one night," Lucy said. "It's not like I want to sleep with you and Daddy every night."

She rubbed her eyes, clearly very sleepy but still trying to stay awake. "Besides, Mommy, you didn't sleep in the same room with Daddy and me at night. How can that be right?"

Since returning to King Manor, she had always slept with Lucy.

But now, in her clear-headed state, Lucy didn't remember.

"Not sleeping with you and Daddy is fine." Lucy yawned. "But Mommy, you should at least sleep with Daddy."

After thinking it over, Penelope decided to let Lucy sleep in the middle.

At least this way, with Lucy there, Kelvin would behave himself.

She quickly said, "It's okay. If you want to sleep with us so much, of course, you can. Let's go."

Penelope took care of Lucy's bedtime routine and then placed her on the big bed in the master bedroom.

Lucy's small body rolled around on the bed and settled in the middle.

"Wow, it's so comfy," she said. "Daddy and Mommy's bed is so soft and smells so nice, like you guys."

Penelope just smiled.

Since coming back to LA, she hadn't slept in the master bedroom even once, so how could the bed have her scent?

It was all Lucy's imagination.

Penelope kissed her forehead. "Alright, time to sleep."

"Goodnight, Mommy, Daddy."

"Goodnight, Lucy."

It was almost midnight, and Lucy fell asleep shortly after lying down, sleeping like a rock.

Kids fall asleep so easily.

But Penelope's heart was still racing, unable to relax.

She tucked the blanket around Lucy.

"She falls asleep so quickly; she could sleep anywhere," she laughed. "Even if we moved her back to her own room now, she wouldn't notice."

"The feeling is different," Kelvin replied.

"Yeah, for Lucy, sleeping with Daddy and Mommy must make her dreams sweeter."

"Penelope." Kelvin stepped behind her. "Everything in this master bedroom has been replaced. From the bed and curtains to the chairs and lamps, everything is new."

Because Kelvin also hated the traces Madison had left behind.

He wanted to erase them all!

"I can see that," Penelope said. "Everything is brand new."

"So, you don't need to feel uncomfortable."

Penelope nodded.

What she was worried about wasn't these things, but whether Kelvin would make a move next.

Should she resist or go along with it?

Inside, Penelope was torn between wanting to refuse and wanting to comply.

She was really conflicted, her mind just hoping for the dawn to come quickly!

Lying in bed, Penelope pulled up the blanket and tightly closed her eyes.

Lucy lay obediently beside her.

Soon, Kelvin came over, wearing silk pajamas, with water droplets still on his chest.

He lay down too, and the bed sank slightly.

Penelope even lightened her breathing, pretending to be asleep, not daring to move.

Kelvin turned off the only bedside lamp.

The master bedroom plunged into darkness.

Penelope felt a bit more at ease; with the lights off, they couldn't see each other.

However, Kelvin spoke, "Penelope, I know what you're thinking."

Her breathing started to become erratic.

"I can easily carry Lucy away," Kelvin said. "She won't be an obstacle for us tonight."

Penelope's hand under the blanket tightly gripped the sheet.

But she still tried to stay calm and didn't respond.

"And this is home, not the office, Penelope." Kelvin's voice had already become a bit hoarse.

As he spoke, he turned over, lying on his side facing Penelope.

Penelope could clearly feel Kelvin looking at her.

She kept her eyes tightly shut, still not responding to Kelvin, continuing to pretend to be asleep.

As long as she was asleep, Kelvin would let her go, right?

Penelope was very uneasy, her fingers slowly moving, touching the corner of Lucy's pajamas.

Yes, Lucy was still lying between them.

This made her feel a bit more secure.

Kelvin wouldn't really carry Lucy away and then do whatever he wanted to her, right?
