Chapter 1089 Let You Kiss for a Lifetime

If Kelvin kissed her, she'd usually just go along with it, and she didn't mind.

But today, this kiss... she was the one who made the first move for the very first time!

And then, their closest friends walked in on them!

"Alright, alright," Monica said, trying to sound serious, "We didn't see anything, and nothing happened between you and Kelvin."

Penelope sighed, "Just wait, I'll get you back for this."

She slowly lifted her head from Kelvin's embrace, her cheeks flushed.

"I came to check on Mr. Davis," Monica said, "I was worried something might've happened, but now it seems... nothing's wrong. He looks energetic enough to lift you with one hand."

Penelope reached out to cover Monica's mouth.

The two girls laughed and joked around, creating a lively scene.

Timothy came over and bumped Kelvin's shoulder, "You good?"

"What could be wrong?"

"You scared the hell out of me," Timothy said, "Collapsing in the office like that, I thought you were..."

He made a throat-slitting gesture.

Kelvin raised an eyebrow, "What, hoping something bad happened to me?"

"Come on, man, even though you've been working me to the bone for years, we're still good friends."

"Glad you understand."

"But, Kelvin, because of our years of friendship, I trust you completely. If you say you're fine, I believe you're fine. Don't hide anything from me. If there's a problem, we'll face it together."

Kelvin and Timothy had weathered many storms together.

When Kelvin took over Davis Group, there were internal and external challenges, and the board members were skeptical, constantly trying to undermine him.

It was Timothy who supported him, working overtime and bringing in business, which ultimately led to the success of the Davis Group today.

To Kelvin, Timothy was his right-hand man.

In business, they never hid anything from each other and had no barriers to communication.

But... personal matters and business were two different things.

Moreover, Kelvin had a terminal illness.

Timothy couldn't help him with that; the one who could help was Penelope.

Kelvin responded, "When have I ever been polite when I needed your help?"

Timothy groaned, "Damn, it was getting emotional, and you ruined the mood. You've never held back when sending me on business trips, exiling me to Crystal City, and making me work overtime to meet clients."

"I haven't treated you badly. My dear Bestie, you ended up with the best."

Timothy retorted, "I won her over with my own merit and endeavor!"

"Really?" Kelvin scoffed, "Penelope didn't give you any tips? Didn't speak well of you? Didn't play matchmaker?"

Timothy was speechless.

Yes, Penelope had helped a lot!

"That's a favor I owe Penelope," Timothy said, "Don't try to ride her credit."

Kelvin smirked.

Timothy patted his shoulder, "Alright, seeing you still being so sarcastic, I'm relieved. You're still the Kelvin I know, nothing's wrong."

But then, Timothy lowered his voice, "Kelvin, your kissing skills are impressive. I bow to you!"

Kelvin remained silent.

"Did you secretly take lessons?"

Kelvin raised his chin confidently, "No need for lessons. Just practice. With Penelope by my side, kissing every day, month, and year, I've mastered it."

"When you get married and have kids, you'll be just as good," Kelvin said, patting Timothy's shoulder. "Get married soon and bring Monica home. That's the way to settle down."

He hoped... his body could hold out until Timothy and Monica's wedding day.

He really wanted to see his best friend get married, have kids, and build a family.

It was a small wish of his.

"You think I don't want to? I dream about it," Timothy said, stroking his chin. "Just wait a bit longer. Everything's ready, just waiting for the right moment."

"Waiting for what?"

Timothy grinned, "I ordered a custom-made diamond ring. It's taking a while to be ready. Once I get the ring, I'll plan the proposal!"

"A diamond ring? Custom-made?"

"You're quite the planner," Kelvin said, "Didn't see that coming. Did you get advice from someone, or did you figure it out yourself?"

"Do I need advice for this? Do you want to get married or not? If you want to marry Monica, you need flowers, a diamond ring, and the perfect atmosphere. You think you can just marry her casually?"

After a pause, Timothy suddenly thought of something, "Of course, you're an exception. Your love story isn't a reference for anyone!"

Kelvin chuckled, "Good luck."

"Get well soon."

"It's about time to leave," Kelvin said, hinting for them to go, "You're interrupting my alone time with Penelope."

"In a hospital room? What kind of alone time? It's not like you're at home!"

Kelvin replied slowly, "A different place creates a different experience. Understand?"

Timothy was stunned, then showed a disdainful expression.

"What?"

"Nothing!" Timothy shook his head, "Hope your experience is perfect!"

"It would be perfect without you and Monica here."

Timothy lowered his voice, "Take it easy, you just had surgery. Control yourself."

An hour later, Timothy and Monica left.

Penelope looked at Kelvin and suddenly laughed.

"How come you're not shy or embarrassed at all?" Penelope asked, "We were caught kissing for so long."

"They watch; we kiss."

Saying that, Kelvin leaned in again.

Penelope pushed him away, "Not enough? Want more?"

"No matter how much we kiss, it's never enough. I want to kiss you for a lifetime."

"Alright," she leaned into his embrace, "I'll let you kiss me for a lifetime."

Kelvin held her, his mind filled with countless thoughts, but he was unable to sort them out.

In a few days, he would be discharged, and once he was out... many things would change.

The King Manor would change that day!

Now, being able to be close to Penelope was already a blessing.

At night, Kelvin took his medication, and the nurse came to administer the infusion.

He coughed twice, his chest aching, each cough pulling at his chest, unsure if it was his heart or lungs hurting.

But he said nothing.

His body... was deteriorating day by day.

Getting worse.

Penelope sat by the bed, peeling an apple with a fruit knife.

After the nurse left, she looked up and said, "Call home, Sam and Lucy are probably waiting eagerly."

"Okay."

Kelvin picked up his phone, adjusted his position, and aimed the camera solely at himself, not showing the hospital bed or IV tubes.
