Chapter 887 Can Godfather Kiss Godmother
Timothy was caught off guard.
Sam kept going, "Mom said when Dad was chasing her, he was relentless, never giving up until she finally said yes. Maybe you should try that too?"
"If you don't make a move now, Godmother's gonna leave."
"If she flat-out rejects you, at least you'll know. But she hasn't done that, which means she has feelings for you. She's just unsure and conflicted!"
"Godfather, you need to calm her fears and make her feel secure!"
With Sam's words, Timothy felt a surge of determination.
He was right, Monica hadn't rejected him!
She had run away.
That meant she didn't know how to face him yet, but it didn't mean she didn't like him!
Timothy felt a renewed sense of confidence.
He immediately walked through the small gate, ruffling Sam's hair. "Good job, I'll remember this!"
Sam said, "Good luck, Godfather. Win her over soon and give me a baby to play with!"
"Good luck!"
The security guard was at a loss.
Should he stop him or not?
He hadn't done anything wrong; Sam had let him in!
It had nothing to do with him!
In the living room, the crystal chandelier shone brightly, illuminating every corner.
However, the atmosphere was incredibly silent.
"If you like him, accept him. If you don't, reject him. If you're unsure, say you need to think about it," Penelope said, patting Monica's hand. "Why are you running? What are you hiding from?"
"You always have so much to say about me, but now that it's your turn, you don't know what to do?"
Monica covered her face and flopped onto the sofa. "Penelope, help me out here, stop scolding me!"
"I already told you, three options: accept, reject, or think about it. Which one are you choosing?"
"Look into your heart before you answer," Penelope advised. "Timothy isn't a player. For him to take this step and confess his feelings took a lot of courage."
Monica sighed deeply.
Her answer wavered between accept and think about it.
But she never considered rejecting him.
She couldn't reject Timothy.
In every way, Timothy was a great guy, and he treated her well.
Except for his occasional teasing, he was always a gentleman.
A man of his background, with his intelligence and emotional intelligence, had a certain standard for how he treated people.
Could it be that Timothy's teasing was a sign that he liked her?
Like how mischievous boys in school would pull the pigtails of the girls they liked?
Thinking this, Monica felt even more confused.
Should she see him?
She didn't dislike him; it was just that everything had happened so suddenly, and she needed time to process it.
And Monica wasn't avoiding him; she just didn't know how to face him.
So she chose to run away.
Thinking this, Timothy seemed quite brave.
Compared to him, she felt much more timid.
Monica stood up.
Just as she was about to muster the courage to face Timothy, hurried footsteps echoed from the entrance of the living room.
Everyone turned to look.
Soon, Timothy's figure appeared.
He was wearing a blue shirt and black pants, not a single wrinkle, a watch on his wrist, and a slight frown on his face.
Even Timothy, who was always smiling, was frowning. This must be serious.
He looked at Monica, and their eyes met.
Monica, who had been standing straight, quickly sat back down.
"How did you get in here?"
Didn't the security guard stop him? Or did he find another way in?
Timothy didn't answer, just walked straight towards her.
Monica looked around, searching for a place to hide. Finding none, she finally hid behind Penelope.
Penelope symbolically shielded her, looking at Timothy. "What do you want?"
"What do you think I want?"
"She doesn't want to see you right now," Penelope said gently. "Let her hide for a bit."
It sounded like Penelope was on Monica's side.
But actually...
Monica could only hear, not see, that Penelope was winking at Timothy as she spoke.
The words were for Monica, but the expressions were for Timothy.
Penelope felt it was tough being caught between the two of them.
She wanted Timothy to win Monica over, but she didn't want Monica to think she was on Timothy's side!
"I want to see her," Timothy said. "I want to tell her I'm not a monster."
Monica stayed hidden behind Penelope, not looking up.
She mumbled, "You go away."
"I'm not leaving. Monica, running away won't solve anything."
"Who said I'm running away? Why don't you admit you're being too sudden?"
"Sudden?" Timothy asked. "Didn't I hint at it in the garage last time? Was I not clear enough, or did you forget?"
Monica fell silent.
Timothy continued, "And the time before that, in your office, when we made that new bet, I kissed you."
"Ah! Stop!" Monica suddenly looked up, cutting him off. "Don't say any more!"
He had brought up the kiss!
How embarrassing!
Kelvin and Penelope were right there!
And the kids were there too!
But it was too late.
Everyone had heard.
Kelvin raised an eyebrow, not too surprised. He had known Timothy had kissed her.
For a man to have feelings for the woman he loved was perfectly normal.
Timothy had shown remarkable restraint until now!
Penelope was shocked, covering her mouth.
When did they kiss? How did she not know? Not a whisper of it?
Monica hadn't mentioned a word!
Just then, Lucy asked, "Can Godfather kiss Godmother, Sam?"
Following Timothy, Sam had just sat down when he heard Lucy's question.
He answered seriously, "Of course. Just like Dad can kiss Mom."
