Chapter 1053 How About Registering for Marriage Next Week?

Penelope sighed, "I can't get it done right away."

Tina raised an eyebrow, "What are you up to, Penelope? You're being so secretive. But hey, even though I'm a bit nosy, I can keep a secret."

"Even if you keep quiet... it won't help."

Kelvin had already anticipated this.

With her level of intelligence, what was she thinking, trying to outsmart Kelvin?

It would be much better if she just came clean, saving herself the anxiety.

Luckily, this time, Kelvin wasn't mad at her, or she'd have to coax him again!

Penelope opened her laptop.

The headlines were still dominated by news about Thessaly.

The name "Thessaly" had become synonymous with high traffic recently.

Any article or video about her was getting an extraordinary number of clicks and views!

Penelope skimmed through a few headlines and closed the page.

Nothing worth reading, just people trying to ride the wave of her popularity! Just spectators enjoying the drama!

After a moment's thought, Penelope called the director of Public Relations at Davis Group.

"Mrs. Davis," the director's tone was surprisingly respectful and polite, "What can I do for you? Just say the word, and I'll get right on it."

She said, "Keep an eye on the online buzz. Any articles trying to ride Thessaly's coattails, delete them if you can. Any troll accounts, shut them down if possible. It's all so annoying to look at."

"Got it, Mrs. Davis."

"Also, try to lower Thessaly's profile a bit, or shift the focus. The key point isn't the scandal between the director and the actress, but that Paul assaulted Thessaly, and she's using the law to protect herself."

Penelope gave a lot of instructions, and the director agreed to all of them.

Currently, there were some claims online that Thessaly had seduced Paul to secure the lead role in "Bright Life." When negotiations fell apart during filming, Thessaly, unwilling to be used in vain, sued Paul.

These accusations were attacking Thessaly and had gained significant traction.

It was obvious Paul had paid for a professional team to smear Thessaly!

The more Penelope thought about it, the more irritated she became. She rubbed her temples.

Lunchtime.

Employee cafeteria.

Penelope had no appetite at all.

Monica waved a hand in front of her face, "What's up? Are you becoming a saint? Not eating anything?"

She propped her chin on her hand, "I'm worried, can't eat."

"What's the matter?"

"Thessaly's situation."

Monica drew out her words, "I thought you were pregnant and couldn't eat."

"Why do you keep talking about pregnancy?" Penelope said, "I'm not planning on having another one right now. Sam and Lucy are already keeping me busy enough."

"Those kids are so well-behaved. What are you busy with? What's tiring?"

"Easy for you to say, you haven't been a mom. Monica, why don't you try having a kid!"

Monica was very self-assured, "I'm not even married yet, why would I have a kid?"

"What? You want to get married?"

Timothy suddenly appeared out of nowhere, looking at Monica with surprise and excitement, his hands trembling.

He grabbed her hand tightly.

"Monica, you... You actually want to get married?" Timothy looked into her eyes, "Good thing I found out in time, or I'd still be wondering if you wanted to marry me."

Monica blinked, "What are you talking about?"

Penelope stayed quiet, watching the scene unfold.

"Monica, if you just nod, I'll buy a ring and propose right now, and we can get married tomorrow," Timothy said. "What do you think?"

"I think..."

"If you think that's too fast, we can wait. How about we get married next week?"

Penelope sat across from them, enjoying the show. Timothy's eagerness was almost comical.

Let's see how Monica handles this!

Monica rolled her eyes.

"Timothy!" She pulled her hand back. "Were you eavesdropping on my conversation with Penelope?"

"I just happened to pass by and overheard a bit."

"You only heard a bit, can you not overreact?" Monica said, "And are you sure you heard right? I said I'm not married yet, not that I want to get married."

The light in Timothy's eyes dimmed.

So he had been overthinking it.

"Monica." He asked, "I took you to meet my family, and you said it was too soon, no rush, we need to get to know each other better and strengthen our relationship. I don't know how much longer you need."

Penelope's gaze shifted between the two of them.

"You haven't met the parents yet?" she asked Timothy, "You mentioned before that you wanted to take Monica home."

Timothy spread his hands, "She doesn't want to, what can I do?"

"That means you haven't done well enough, or tried hard enough."

"What more can I do? How much harder should I try?" Timothy asked, "I've practically laid my heart out!"

Monica pouted, sat up straight, and continued eating.

"Just date properly, step by step, don't try to skip the process and save time," Monica said, "Marriage isn't a joke, I don't want to rush."

Timothy didn't say anything, just glanced at Penelope.

That gaze unmistakably conveyed, 'see, hear that, she's always had this attitude, I've been trying my best!'

Though Timothy thought this, he still spoke sweetly.

After all, charming a woman was a lifelong skill for every man!

"Okay, I'm not pressuring you, I just misheard," Timothy smiled, putting an arm around her shoulders, "I'll spend more time and effort on you."

Monica didn't respond, but the corners of her mouth turned up.

What woman doesn't like being cherished?

Penelope propped her chin on her hand, poking at her food, "Timothy, if Kelvin increases your workload, how will you have time for Monica?"

"Penelope, can you not say things like that?"

"Isn't the company busy lately?" she asked, "Are you free? Is Kelvin free?"

Timothy countered, "What, do you want the company to have problems, so Kelvin and I have to work around the clock, with red eyes, scrambling to eat?"

Penelope's heart skipped a beat, suddenly remembering the time Kelvin came home late, claiming he was working.

No, he wasn't working; he lied.

If it weren't for seeing Timothy and Monica being all lovey-dovey, she might have forgotten!

Penelope asked casually, "Sounds like... you have a lot of experience. Do you remember the last time you and Kelvin worked so hard?"
