Chapter 882 Do You Know Each Other

Thessaly stumbled, losing her balance and falling sideways.

But she didn't hit the ground. Instead, she fell into the arms of a stranger.

The man caught her, taking several steps back before he managed to steady himself.

As soon as they were stable, Thessaly heard him ask, "You alright?"

She looked up at him.

A handsome face, dressed in a sharp suit, with eyes full of concern and kindness, and a gentle expression.

Even though Thessaly had met countless male celebrities in the entertainment industry and worked with all kinds of handsome men, she couldn't help but marvel at this man in front of her.

A true gentleman.

This kind of demeanor wasn't something that could be cultivated overnight or faked.

It was innate, the kind of refined aura that only years of upbringing in a wealthy family could produce.

"I'm fine," Thessaly shook her head. "Thanks to you."

She realized she had been staring at him, lost in thought.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Thessaly looked away.

The young guy on the skateboard glanced back, saw she was okay, and quickly skated off, disappearing.

Brandon let go of her, his hands falling to his sides.

He said calmly, "These skateboarders are too dangerous. If they hit someone, both could get hurt."

"Yeah, and I wasn't paying attention," Thessaly replied. "Thank you; otherwise, I'd be heading to the hospital today."

"No problem, happy to help."

With that, Brandon turned to leave.

"Wait," Thessaly called after him. "What's your name? You saved me, I want to thank you."

"Brandon Walker."

"Mr. Walker," Thessaly said, "That's a rare last name."

Brandon nodded, still very polite. "Next time, watch where you're going."

"Okay."

He smiled at her.

It seemed their interaction would end there.

But just then, Penelope's voice rang out, "Thessaly! Oh, Brandon? What are you two doing here?"

She walked over quickly, looking between them. "Do you know each other?"

Brandon and Thessaly both shook their heads.

"Well, let me introduce you then!"

Penelope stood between them.

"This is Brandon Walker, my childhood friend and the CEO of The Walker Corporation."

"And this is Thessaly Winterbourne, a famous actress! You must have seen her work!"

Brandon looked surprised. "You're Ms. Winterbourne?"

"Yes."

Thessaly took off her sunglasses and mask, revealing her delicate, made-up face.

She had a commercial shoot later, so she was wearing makeup, looking more refined and colorful than usual.

"No wonder I felt like I'd seen you before, and your voice sounded familiar," Brandon said. "But I didn't dare to assume. Turns out, I've seen you on TV and in movies."

"To avoid paparazzi, I cover up well. Even my mom wouldn't recognize me."

Thessaly extended her hand gracefully. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Walker."

Brandon shook her hand. "Nice to meet you, too."

Penelope tactfully stepped aside.

It felt like there was a story between these two.

They looked good together, like a scene from a movie.

Even though their handshake lasted only a few seconds, there was an inexplicable sense of intimacy.

"If you didn't know each other, why were you standing here together?" Penelope blinked. "I saw you talking."

Brandon replied, "Ms. Winterbourne had a little mishap, and I happened to be nearby, so I helped out."

Thessaly nodded. "Yes, thanks to Mr. Walker, otherwise I wouldn't be able to shoot my commercial today."

Penelope couldn't help but laugh.

Thessaly glanced at Brandon, then looked away.

"I have to go." She put on her sunglasses. "I have a schedule to keep. Penelope, bye, let's catch up when I'm free."

"Okay, bye."

As Thessaly got into her car, Penelope casually asked, "Isn't she even more beautiful in person than on TV?"

"Yes, she's very beautiful."

"Right? I knew you'd think so! She's truly unique among actresses. I chose her as the spokesperson for Adoring Cupid. She and the brand will grow together."

Brandon understood what Penelope was hinting at.

She was trying to set him up with Thessaly.

Thessaly and Penelope had many similarities.

Even though Brandon hadn't interacted much with Thessaly, he could tell that her personality, her way of dealing with people, and her values were very similar to Penelope's.

Just the fact that Thessaly didn't throw herself at Kelvin but kept her distance made Brandon respect her more.

She was a good girl.

And a valuable piece in the game.

Brandon looked at the van, a fleeting smile in his eyes.

That van wasn't going anywhere.

Sure enough, a minute passed, and the van was still there, not moving.

"What's going on?" Penelope muttered. "Aren't they leaving?"

Brandon said, "Maybe something's holding them up."

Penelope waited patiently for a while longer, but the van still didn't move.

Then, the driver got out.

And soon after, Thessaly got out too, her brows slightly furrowed, looking surprised.

"Thessaly," Penelope asked, "What's wrong? Is the car broken?"

Thessaly nodded. "Yes, it won't start."

"What now? Call a cab?"

Thessaly's assistant said, "The studio is in the suburbs, far from here. Cabs might not want to go that far."

No one expected the car to break down.

Penelope wanted to suggest that Brandon give her a ride, if he wasn't too busy.

But she couldn't just ask that.

Thessaly wouldn't expect Brandon to help either.

Only Brandon could offer.

But Penelope doubted it.

Brandon was kind and easygoing, but he wasn't a pushover, and he was busy. They had just met; he had no obligation to help.

At most, he might help arrange another car.

Then, something unexpected happened.

Brandon said, "If Ms. Winterbourne doesn't mind, I can give you a ride."

Penelope's eyes widened in surprise and delight.
