Chapter 995 Bugs and Fingerprints Again

The man in black gave a nod, shot Thessaly a quick look that seemed to say he was impressed, and then took off.

Thessaly felt a bit uneasy under his gaze, but Brandon didn't seem to notice. He was all about the folder in his hands.

"What's this all about?" Thessaly asked. "You drove all the way here at night just to hand it over?"

"This is what I've been waiting for all day. It showed up just in time."

Thessaly couldn't make out what was inside; it looked like just a few thin sheets of paper.

"Go on, open it. Do your thing," Thessaly said. "I won't butt in... Even though I'm your girlfriend, everyone's got a right to their own space, and I should respect that."

She said it quickly, ready to leave.

Brandon grabbed her elbow, not letting go: "No, you gotta see this. Thessaly, you need to stay and open it with me."

Thessaly was aware that something was off.

But she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"For me?"

"Yeah, let's head inside."

Brandon practically dragged her into the house, through the living room, up the stairs, and finally into the study.

His grip was so tight, Thessaly thought her arm might snap!

Once they were in the study, Brandon let her go.

"Go on, open it." He nodded towards the folder, "Take a look."

"I…"

"Don't be shy, it's yours."

Thessaly swallowed hard, her hands shaking a bit.

Still, she picked up the folder, slowly opened it, and reached inside.

A small, square piece of metal.

The feel of it... Thessaly didn't need to look to know what it was!

The texture was too familiar; she'd felt it before! More than once!

A listening device!

In those few seconds, a million thoughts and plans raced through Thessaly's mind.

"What? Take it out," Brandon said. "Don't hesitate."

"What is this thing?"

Thessaly slowly pulled out the listening device.

She acted like she'd never seen it before: "What is this? So small, like a USB drive."

"It's not a USB drive."

"Then what is it?"

"You don't recognize it?" Brandon asked.

Thessaly's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly shook her head: "Never seen it."

"A listening device," Brandon chuckled. "It can record all sounds within thirty feet, crystal clear."

"How do you have something like this?"

"That's not important." Brandon leaned on the desk, his gaze intense. "What's important is that you're holding it now."

Thessaly felt the device burning in her hand!

She wanted to toss it! But she couldn't!

Thessaly gripped it tighter, swallowing hard: "Why are you giving me a listening device?"

"Don't rush, take your time. The game is just starting; suspense makes it interesting." Brandon turned back to the folder. "There's more inside, take it out."

"There's a piece of paper."

"Yeah, that paper is very useful."

Thessaly complied.

She slowly pulled out the A4 sheet from the folder, first seeing the bolded "Fingerprint Analysis Report."

In an instant, Thessaly's mind felt like it was about to explode!

Why was there a fingerprint analysis?

Whose fingerprints? Hers?

Then Thessaly looked at the listening device in her left palm.

Had she touched the device before? Seen it? If her fingerprints were on it, everything would be exposed!

This was a nightmare!

She hadn't realized Brandon was so thorough, that he'd go as far as to analyze fingerprints on the device!

No wonder when she arrived at the Walker Mansion, he had so kindly taken her bag and casually handed it to the butler.

It seemed thoughtful, but in reality, he wanted to take the device from her bag and immediately send it for analysis!

Today, Thessaly had deliberately brought that bag.

Ever since discovering the device, she hadn't touched that bag, instinctively feeling a deep resistance and fear.

But today she had to carry it, intentionally showing Brandon she knew nothing about the device.

Who would've thought Brandon was even more cunning!

"A listening device and fingerprints..." Thessaly said. "What does this mean? I don't get it."

"You'll know once you read it."

Thessaly's hand hesitated, not pulling out the report.

Seeing this, Brandon grabbed her wrist, helping her, then looked directly at her.

The report was there, clear as day.

The listening device had Thessaly's fingerprints!

Confirmed without a doubt!

"See it?" Brandon pointed to the conclusion section. "Got anything to say?"

Thessaly's nails dug into her palm.

"What is it?" Brandon pressed. "You said you hadn't seen it, didn't know what it was. So why are your fingerprints on it?"

"I really haven't seen it... How could something I've never seen have my fingerprints? It's strange. Brandon, where did you get this?"

Brandon smirked, knowing she was still pretending.

Seeing the results, he was already certain!

But he answered her question: "From your bag."

"My bag? When did something like this end up there?" Thessaly frowned. "Well, since it's from my bag, having my fingerprints is normal, right? I grab things from my bag every day, accidentally touching it."

She feigned surprise, fiddling with the device: "Who put this in my bag?"

Brandon slowly sat down: "Keep acting."

He'd laid it all out.

But Thessaly wouldn't take the bait; she couldn't admit it. Admitting it would mean the end!

"What are you talking about?" Thessaly glanced at him. "It's all stuff I don't understand. A listening device was suddenly in my bag, suddenly with my fingerprints... It's all so bizarre."

She placed everything back on the desk: "I should go. If I stay any longer, I won't get any sleep. I'll be heading straight to the set for makeup and filming."

Brandon didn't attempt to intercept him, remaining seated.

Thessaly kept her cool, calmly heading for the door.

Brandon knew she had discovered the device, wondering what she'd do next.

No matter, she would leave first, then figure out the next step... Maybe she could consult Kelvin!

Kelvin was still there!

With him, she wasn't fighting alone, not just holding on by herself!

Kelvin would have a plan!

Thessaly gripped her phone tightly, planning to contact Kelvin as soon as she left the Walker Mansion!

Only Kelvin knew how dire her situation was, and he'd send help to protect her!

Thessaly reached for the study's doorknob.

Thankfully, the door opened, it wasn't locked.
