Chapter 818 Uncle Brandon Was Driven Away by You?

"Godfather?"

"Yeah, the kids already see you as family."

'Especially Sam.'

During his time with the Walker family, Sam was completely captivated by Brandon's charm. He thought Brandon was perfect in every way, which is why he wanted to set him up with Penelope.

Brandon was indeed great, truly great.

Flawlessly great!

Even after the incident with Isabella, Penelope still felt that Brandon was the perfect Brandon.

He was always gentle, always considerate of others, a true gentleman.

"Still, no," Brandon said, "Sam and Lucy calling me Uncle Brandon is already enough for me."

Penelope didn't push further. "Alright, it's just a title anyway. What you've done for them goes far beyond what an uncle should do."

"I did it willingly."

"Yeah, I get it. I think you understand my thoughts, too, right?"

Brandon nodded. "I understand."

Penelope had her own thoughts, but...

Brandon had his own plans!

Godfather?

Absolutely not!

What Brandon wanted was not the title of Godfather. If he was going to be anything, he wanted to be their stepfather!

If he became their Godfather, what would Sam and Lucy call him after he brought Penelope back to his side?

It was better for them to call him Uncle Brandon now, so it would be easier for them to change it later!

Stepfather was better than Godfather!

Brandon had thought this through very carefully, which is why he directly refused Penelope's suggestion.

Penelope didn't think much of it.

As they reached the elevator, Brandon pressed the button and suddenly remembered something. "When I got here, I saw a bunch of reporters hanging around the hospital entrance."

"Reporters?"

"Yeah. Security was keeping them in check, but they wouldn't leave. No idea what big scoop they're after."

Penelope was puzzled. "Maybe some celebrity is filming at the hospital today."

Brandon said, "There were only reporters, no fans."

"I'll ask Kelvin, he might know," Penelope thought for a moment. "If there are that many reporters, I'll take Sam out through the back door."

Lucy had already been photographed by paparazzi once; she didn't want her son to be photographed too.

She always kept a low profile and didn't want to cause any big news in LA, becoming the talk of the town.

Brandon nodded and didn't say more. "I'll be going now."

"Alright, bye!"

Penelope waved at him happily, smiling sweetly.

Brandon smiled too.

Penelope, one day, you will be by my side.

If Brandon didn't choose to get along peacefully with Penelope now and maintain the status quo, how could he start his plan?

To win Penelope and fulfill his long-held wish, Brandon had to compete with Kelvin!

If he couldn't win openly, he would do it secretly!

Penelope walked back to the hospital room with a light step.

At the door, Kelvin leaned against the door frame, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. "You're back?"

"Yeah!" Penelope responded, her face full of smiles.

"So happy..." Kelvin's voice was low. "Seems like you had a pretty good chat with Brandon."

He wanted to follow them, to watch their every move from a distance.

But in the end, Kelvin chose to wait for her here.

He trusted her.

But the jealousy in his heart kept surging, impossible to suppress.

What man could remain indifferent when his wife was alone with a man who liked her?

Especially when he was Kelvin!

Sam suddenly appeared out of nowhere, standing between the two of them.

"Kelvin, did you drive Uncle Brandon away?"

Kelvin was speechless.

"Mom, you're smiling brighter than the flowers Uncle Brandon gave me. Did something good happen?"

Penelope was speechless.

Kelvin picked him up. "Go stand over there."

But Sam grabbed the door frame with both hands. "I won't go, I won't go. Uncle Brandon came to see me, but he left right after giving me the flowers. This isn't right. Will I never see Uncle Brandon again?"

"He's a good person, Kelvin. You can't bully him or suppress him!"

"Uncle Brandon is already single. You have a wife, Lucy, and me. You're the winner in life. You should be magnanimous and let him off easy!"

What nonsense.

For someone so young, he sure had a rich vocabulary!

"Even Sam can see it," Penelope said as she rescued Sam from Kelvin's grasp. "Don't worry, Uncle Brandon and I are still friends. We can get along well."

"Really?"

"Really."

Sam asked, "Is he your backup option?"

"Sam!"

Penelope always wanted to be a gentle and patient mom, but at this moment, she really couldn't hold back!

Sensing danger, Sam immediately broke free and ran to Liam.

He was scared to death!

Penelope looked like she could eat someone!

Kelvin narrowed his eyes slightly. "What exactly did you and Brandon talk about?"

"We talked about a lot, but in the end, we reconciled!"

"Reconciled?"

"Yes, we'll always be friends, always be there for each other, always help each other," Penelope said. "Just like when he first met me and helped me, without any ulterior motives, unrelated to love, just a natural connection."

And Brandon and Penelope were indeed old friends!

Reunited after more than twenty years!

Kelvin was a bit surprised that Brandon was willing to step back to the position of a friend.

He didn't try to take it further? Didn't try to fight for her?

Or was it that Brandon couldn't accept the reality, unable to face losing Penelope, and decided to withdraw and start a new life?

Strange.

Was Brandon really that good?

"Brandon said this himself?" Kelvin still couldn't believe it. "You two agreed on this?"

"Yes, absolutely. It also resolved a big concern of mine."

Saying this, Penelope stretched happily. "Otherwise, I was always worried about how to face Brandon and how to get along with him. Afraid of losing him, afraid of cutting off contact."

"Now it's all good! I can be at ease!"

Kelvin looked at her with a faint gaze.

Although he felt something was off with Brandon, he didn't want to dampen her spirits at this moment.

Brandon loved her and had their past connection. He shouldn't do anything to hurt her.

Of course, Kelvin wouldn't let anyone hurt her again!

"Yes, it's good," Kelvin replied. "Hopefully, it can stay this way."

"Of course it can. I'm very confident in Brandon's character! But you, you didn't get jealous while I was seeing him off, did you?"
