Chapter 888 My First Confession in This Life

"Did Godfather and Godmother get married too?"

"Not yet, but they might," Sam said.

Lucy nodded. "So only married boys and girls can kiss."

"That's right. Remember that, so no boys try to take advantage of you!"

Kelvin cleared his throat. "It's past eight. You two should get ready for bed."

Lucy looked innocent. "Dad, I haven't finished this episode yet."

In the whole room, only Lucy was seriously watching TV.

"You can watch it tomorrow," Kelvin said. "Come on, I'll take you upstairs."

He took Lucy's hand.

Sam could walk and follow on his own.

And Timothy being here was probably Sam's doing.

Kelvin had seen him sneak out but chose not to call him out on it.

After all, they did need Sam's help!

Seeing this, Penelope stood up too. "Yes, it's getting late. Sam, Lucy, time for bed."

She quickly took Sam's hand.

Sam was reluctant, constantly looking back.

He wanted to see what would happen next!

Penelope tugged him harder and forced a smile. "Monica, you two keep talking. We'll put the kids to bed and come back down later."

The family of four hurriedly left, leaving the space for the two of them.

The living room was quiet.

Monica bit her lip, glaring at him angrily. "Are you happy now? Satisfied?"

"Why would I be happy or satisfied? This is the first time I've confessed my feelings, the first time I've pursued a woman, and it turned out like this. My face is practically gone, and Kelvin will laugh at me for decades."

Timothy didn't come closer but stood where he was, keeping a distance.

He knew his approach would pressure and scare her.

"Why did you have to tell them about the kiss?" Monica asked.

"I was just telling the truth."

"Timothy!"

At that moment, he was unusually calm and composed.

"Monica, I remember you told me that was your first kiss," Timothy said. "I want you to know, it was my first kiss too."

Monica was stunned.

What?

He still had his first kiss!

That was unbelievable!

"So that time was memorable for you, and it was for me too," Timothy said, pressing his lips together. "I always remember it. I can't forget it, and I don't want to."

Monica was shocked, her mouth slightly open, unsure how to respond.

He looked at her. "I guess you want to know when I started liking you?"

Monica nodded.

"I don't know the exact time, but it was a long time ago. But from the day I realized I liked you, I always remembered. It was the day we made that bet. You lost, so you had to be my girlfriend for a month. If I lost, I'd be your servant for a month."

Back then, Timothy was confident and sure of victory.

He knew he would win.

She would be his girlfriend, even if just for a month.

But at least it would be a start between them.

Monica asked, dazed, "So you were planning this from the beginning?"

"I didn't plan it. You agreed to the bet willingly. I didn't force you."

"Then, from the moment we made the bet, you had ulterior motives! Timothy, you had it all planned out! You were step by step..."

"Hmm?" Timothy smiled slightly. "Step by step, doing what? Go on."

Step by step, pursuing her, winning her over.

Timothy's affection had been evident back then.

Monica had been too oblivious, thinking he just wanted to win and boss her around, resenting him for not being considerate.

But ,he was showing his love.

Every man has a different way of pursuing a woman, but the core idea is the same.

Creating opportunities to be alone together.

Monica stared at Timothy for a few seconds, then suddenly turned her head, unable to look into his eyes.

Because she saw sincerity.

Women feared a man's sincerity the most.

A man's love came quickly and intensely, like fire.

A woman's love was slow, bit by bit, gentle, and enduring.

Monica wondered if, by the time she decided to fully invest in this relationship and love him wholeheartedly, his passion would have already faded.

"Are you afraid to admit it? Afraid to face it?" Timothy asked. "Monica, you've already thought about it, but you don't want to face it. Do you not believe I can love you, or do you think you don't deserve love?"

She bit her lip. "I can only say, your way of pursuing someone is really rare! Such a long setup!"

"Because it took so long and you didn't respond, I had to be more aggressive and confess to you. Who knew you'd be scared?"

Timothy sighed, both helpless and willing.

What should he do to be right, to make her satisfied?

At this moment, on the second floor, behind the wall.

Penelope was standing there, peeking downstairs at the living room.

Sam and Lucy stood beside her, also peeking.

The three of them, in perfect unison, didn't move or make a sound, focused on listening and watching, afraid to miss anything.

It seemed the love for gossip was hereditary!

Kelvin stood behind them, arms crossed, helpless.

"Are you still going to..."

"Shh." Penelope immediately turned and warned him. "Don't talk!!"

Sam agreed, "Yeah, yeah, I can't hear anything."

Lucy chimed in, "Dad, don't interrupt us!"

Looking at the two kids and Penelope, Kelvin had no choice.

How long were they going to listen?

Were they that curious? Did they need to eavesdrop here?

Especially Penelope, setting a bad example, leading the kids to watch the drama!

What could Kelvin do?

Join them!

He glanced downstairs. Timothy and Monica were so far apart.

One on the couch, the other almost at the dining room door!

It seemed Timothy still lacked experience.

From Kelvin's perspective, Timothy should go over, pull Monica into his arms, and give her no escape.
