Chapter 822 Take Advantage of Tonight to Calm His Anger

Kelvin listened, then scooped her up into his arms and stood up. "Let's head back to the room."

"But it's just getting dark."

Heading back already? Kelvin's intentions were way too obvious!

Penelope wrapped her arms around his neck, looking at his chiseled profile. "You better not try anything funny."

"I'm just gonna give you a back massage."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure," Kelvin said with a straight face. "Do you really think I'm that kind of guy?"

"Yes, you are," Penelope replied.

"What?"

"You are," Penelope said. "Stop pretending."

Did she not know what Kelvin was thinking?

These past few days, she had been at the hospital, taking care of Sam, day and night, without going home. Sometimes, Kelvin would stay in the hospital room with her.

With Sam around, even kissing, let alone any other intimate actions, had to be done cautiously and secretly.

Now that they were finally back at The King Manor, with a private room, a spacious bed, and no one to disturb them, Penelope could already predict what was going to happen next!

"First, the back massage, then we'll see," Kelvin said, carrying her steadily up to the second floor.

The maids in the living room were sneaking glances at Kelvin's back.

They were really in love.

They had just seen Liam off, and as soon as it got dark, Kelvin couldn't wait any longer!

But with the masters gone, the maids could relax a bit too.

As they cleaned and tidied up, they whispered among themselves.

"This house is going to be lively from now on."

"Yeah, Mr. Davis has been smiling more since he had kids."

"Do you think Mr. and Mrs. Davis will have a third child?"

"At this rate, a third child is just a matter of time!"

"Exactly, with such a big family and business, they can definitely afford it."

The butler walked over. "Ahem!"

The maids quickly put on serious faces and pretended to work diligently.

"Have you all forgotten the rules of The King Manor?" the butler said. "No discussing the masters' affairs in private."

The maids didn't dare make a sound.

After a few seconds, the butler lowered his voice. "I also hope Mr. and Mrs. Davis have another child."

With that, the butler turned and walked away as if nothing had happened.

The maids looked at each other and burst into laughter.

The most nerve-wracking and cautious days they had spent at The King Manor were the four years when Penelope was "gone."

Kelvin had been moody, often losing his temper, and his face had been devoid of a smile for years.

Now, good days were here!

Upstairs, in the master bedroom, Kelvin kicked the door open and walked in, his steps steady, gently placing Penelope on the bed.

As soon as Penelope's back touched the bed, she rolled to the other side.

"I suddenly don't feel any back pain anymore."

"What?"

"You should go to the study," Penelope said, blinking. "I'm sure there's a lot of work waiting for you."

Kelvin stood by the bed, tugging at his tie. "Penelope, say that again?"

At this moment, she was telling him to work?

What a joke!

He had no mind for work!

Penelope looked pained. "I think you've been slacking off lately, not as diligent as before. This isn't good, Kelvin. You have a family to support and two kids to take care of. You should be working harder."

He looked at her with a half-smile. "Keep talking."

"I just want you to work hard."

Kelvin leaned down, his hands on either side of her, his breath suddenly close.

"Penelope, tonight, you can't escape."

Seeing the look in his eyes, Penelope felt her legs go weak.

Good thing she was lying down, or she wouldn't be able to stand!

Kelvin had been holding back for so long in the hospital, just waiting for tonight!

"I-I wasn't trying to escape," Penelope swallowed. "It's just early, and later we need to take care of Sam and Lucy, help them wash up, and go to bed."

"The maids can do that."

"I don't feel comfortable."

"Ruby is here."

Penelope paused. "I...I want to do it myself."

"Alright," Kelvin nodded. "You can."

Huh?

He agreed?

No way, when did Kelvin become so easygoing?

"Really?" Penelope couldn't believe it. "You won't go back on your word?"

"Of course," Kelvin nodded. "It's just past seven now, and Sam and Lucy go to bed at nine. Penelope, we have over an hour."

Damn!

Penelope understood!

He was going to make the most of this hour!

"Isn't it inappropriate?" Penelope's eyes darted around. "After an hour of your 'torture,' will I have the energy to take care of the kids? And I won't be in the right state either!"

Kelvin smiled slightly. "I'll be gentle."

Penelope wanted to say something, but Kelvin lazily stood up, looking down at her, arms crossed. "Any more excuses or tricks, use them all now. Penelope, my patience is limited."

She was deliberately avoiding.

But Kelvin could tell, deep down, she wasn't really resisting.

Two people in love just wanted to be closer, more intimate.

He felt that way, and Penelope must too.

She was stalling tonight for a reason!

Sure enough, Penelope climbed up from the bed, moved to his side, and gently tugged at his tie. "Kelvin."

"What?"

"You're not mad at me anymore, right?"

Kelvin asked on purpose, "Mad about what?"

"You know," Penelope's fingers played with his tie. "About me hiding Sam's identity."

Now Kelvin understood.

She wanted to use tonight to make him forgive her, to move past this issue.

No wonder she wasn't cooperating.

"Penelope," Kelvin asked, "are you trying to make a deal with me?"

"No, just discussing."

Kelvin's eyes darkened. "If you want to use this to make me forgive you, it won't be just tonight."

Penelope couldn't help but shiver.

"Um..." she asked, "how many nights do you want?"

She needed to gauge if her body could handle it!

"It won't be counted by nights," Kelvin replied. "It's not that simple."

Penelope's eyes widened. "You-you're not thinking of counting by months, are you?"
